Im A Busy Man

Chapter 22 - Out of the Ash

Issac immediately looked at the others, garnering the attention of the other gods.

He then said, " So uh... how do we contact him? "

Jared felt a bit more comfortable now so he asked, " What do you mean? "

Asaria said, " We've not been able to contact him since our conception, he's really taken a hands-off approach. "

Jamil sat up and thought, " Maybe we should check for him on the continent? "

The others nodded at him, and Maria quickly informed, " There's a presence on the continent. "

Issac quickly opened a portal sense he couldn't forcefully teleport other gods, " Let's go ask. "

The gods quickly got up while Jared staggered behind Jamil, he was wondering what the continent looked like, there are no complete records of what the God's continent looks like, they just know they apparently live there by the records.

As they walked through the portal they came out at the coast of the island, where a huge arc was hanging over, the path was quartz white in pristine condition, as he looked around, there were bushes with beautiful flowers on them and trees with spanning branches.

There were even rows of flowers and plants.

This path seemed to span so far into the distance he couldn't even see past the hills and mountains which seemed to raise into the sky.

Through the center of the continent was a giant lake which led out into the ocean, they seemed to walk the path for hours till they got to the center of the island between the east and southern coasts, facing the lake was a giant temple.

Before they entered the temple Jared finally asked, " Um... why did we walk all the way.. "

He was a bit confused since he knew they could teleport and Issac immediately responded,

" None of us have much, if any, knowledge on him, all we know is based off assumptions made from his decisions, and can you think of anyone who hates a little respect? "

When Jared thought of it, it makes sense, no one hates being respected and the walk is a show of respect for him instead of immediately appearing before him out of nowhere.

As they stood in front of the temple, Maria quickly stopped and stood still and everyone looked at her confused.

She looked at the flowers leading to the temple and everyone else noticed her stare, they stopped looking at the scenery a lot earlier sense while it may be beautiful, flowers in the end are still flowers, the scenery doesn't really change much, and everyone was just walking while daydreaming.

The flowers were withered and compared to the previous flowers that faced the sun, it seemed even if the flowers begged the sun, its light wouldn't shine on them, the flowers had no shadow and the grass near its roots all seemed to of died, this applied to all the flowers across the path leading into the temple.

Jared asked, " Whats so surprising about that? "

Maria said, " The flowers on this continent should never wither, they're suppose to exist as long as the gods live. "

" Isn't this just proof that the God of Balance is the one we're looking for? " Though he had a point,

Maria just shook her head and didn't reply, and the other gods understood this as well.

The entire continents wild-life was personally made and oversaw by Maria, like a Garden of sorts, but on a continental scale, and they shouldn't be able to wither even if the other gods set them ablaze sense they feed directly off her magic power to stay alive in emergencies.

As they walked into the temple, they noticed no one was inside but the door to the balcony facing the lake seemed to be open.

Issac led the group forward and as they came to the door, there sat a man with tied back light orange fading to white hair , wearing clothes that they've never seen in this world before.

As he turned around and looked at them they seemed to waver, and even issac had a tinge of fear in his eye, what if he has went mad? Could we stop him? Who could stop him?

" What is it. "

I haven't seen them in a while, hopefully this doesn't end up turning out like a meeting, eh.

Issac quickly asked,

" Great God, were you the one who released the negative energy around the planet? "

He seems to of grown a lot in twelve thousand years, I guess this is the enjoyment of being a God, is to watch your creations prosper.

" Hmm, I don't remember doing that but I might of. "

The gods looked at me strangely, and Maria asked, " Did you kill the flowers outside? "

" I did, there smell bothered me, and I was in a bit of a bad mood earlier in the week, I made a mistake that I cant fix without reversing the flow of time, which I have thought of doing, seems to be to big of a measure just because of a small mistake. "

The gods were bewildered that the Great god had made a mistake.

" What was the mistake? " Brill quickly asked, since he knew from his own past that a mistake by a god can ruin entire cities and if its a big mistake possibly the whole continent, if the great god made a mistake, he may destroy the whole planet.

" Oh nothing much, my Mortal body died because I forgot to adjust it properly. " I shrugged.

They were confused for a bit, but then I explained the situation and what Ive been doing for the past 18 years.

" So are those children considered Demi-Gods or complete Gods, my great god? " Jamil asked.

" There not gods or demi-gods, if they get to powerful for this world then maybe they may ascend to godhood through magic or something like that, but at most they'll be the same strength as you guys. "

I would assume from what Ive ascertained, no one can become a real god like myself without being kicked out of my universe, so even if those two somehow did ascend to real godhood, I cant stop it, I dont know how the system works yet except for the Karmic system, who knows, I may not even be a complete god yet, I may be living in a private reality that is owned by a real god who watches me like I watch my gods.

" Whatever, the world can deal with more chaos, Ive been peering at the people of this planet for a while, and I must say they seem very prosperous, and I've realized that technology is staggering. "

Asaria quickly interjected, " But the ManaNetwork and other inventions are constantly being expanded and improved upon, new inventions are made every year. "

" Yes, your not wrong there, but are they making those things proactively? Even the ManaNetwork only exists like it does today because of the accidental discovery of another use of a previously-known part of Magic, Mana Signatures, and what new inventions? The ManaNetwork has been expanding for 800 years and its not even world-wide. "

" I thought of this even when I woke up after my 12,000 year sleep, did I make this world to good? And Ive thought about it more now that my own kids didn't even try and talk it out, Ive been watching over them sense my mortal body died, they haven't tried to talk to each other. So Ive decided I wont clear this mishap. "

The gods looked at my with worried eyes, but in my heart, I feel this is the right choice, the people of this world are living in peace for 800 years, living well without innovation, whats the point of it all?

I started thinking this for the last few days while waiting for them to come here, whats the point.

I made them a world and they give me prayers, but do they do anything? They killed the magical beast to a point there's no real worry about them, and from predictions, in just a few more hundred years, there's going to be no magic beast left, why?

Well of-course over-hunting, but also because its no longer the way to survive in this world, the sentient creatures like humans and demi-humans have to much power, I need to up the anty if I want my world to prosper properly.

" A war will start between the races soon, until that time I want you to stop giving blessings, stop answering the calls of mortals, I want to see how they function without the gods, what they do with this bad Omen, do they sit around, or do they prepare for the worst, the beast will become stronger, the land will become barren, when the war starts, your blessings need to become more rare, more prestigious, and more powerful. "

I sat back down in my chair, looking off into the lake.

" I will make new creatures, I will watch this world burn like a forest-fire. "

The gods looked at me with fright in their eyes, this was the thing they all didnt want to happen, for me to give a decree, even if it was good, because the moment I give one decree, that leaves room for me to give a second.

" Why would you do this? " I could hear anger behind Maria's voice, and sadness, as the Goddess of Nature for this planet, she would be the one most angered by me saying this world will burn like a forest-fire, sense she may take that as a omen in a serious way.

" Do you know the reason forest fires happen, even when left untouched? "

She didnt respond.

" Because out of the ash rises a new and better forest, and out of the Ash of this world... "

" Will rise a new and better world. "
