Chapter 19.3 – A Pair of Salted Fish.

The salad shop that Fang Shubai mentioned wasn’t a shop exactly, but a stall.

You Qiuqiu watched the stall for a while, the salad that the customers ordered were pretty big servings. The bowls weren’t only full of various kinds of ‘grass,’ but also fruits, eggs, beef tenderloin, and even shredded dried pork. They were able to add a variety of ingredients! Amazing!

“This shop’s salad is really delicious,” Fang Shubai explained. “I buy it every time I come here. We are actually a bit late today. I didn’t expect to catch up to buy the salad.”

He let out a laugh. They really were a lucky pair.

When it was their turn to order, the stall owner said regretfully, “I’m sorry, but we only have enough ingredients for one more order…”

They were dumbfounded.

They reached the counter, but only one serving’s left?

Fang Shu frowned. “What should we do?”

You Qiuqiu had already formed a plan smelling those fragrant salads.

You Qiuqiu’s plan was to look at Fang Shubai and ask him a simple question: “Does your company supervise your weight, looks, and figure according to special requirements?”

Special rules and supervisions was a weight no entertainer could escape. (Except for Li Ge, who didn’t need to care for his figure because he only performed with monkeys.) Most entertainers know about the rules their management puts on them, especially Fang Shubai, who’s in an idol group, so he needed to pay extra attention to his image.

When You Qiuqiu saw Fang Shubai’s deflated expression, she knew she was right.

“Think about it,” You Qiuqiu persisted, “how many calories does a salad like this have…?”

“But salads don’t have too many calories…” Fang Shubai, mumbled.

You Qiuqiu shook her finger at Fang Shubai and spoke from her heart: 1.

“As long as it’s something you eat, how can you not gain weight? Do you go to the gym after every meal to find out?”

Fang Shubai was stumped, so she continued.

“How many push-ups, and leapfrogs do you do, huh? How much jogging?”

Before this, You Qiuqiu had always been on the receiving end of these kinds of talks. She never expected that she’d be playing the role of the weight-watching gym demon.

She had to admit that this was fun.

Fang Shubai was frightened when he heard You Qiuqiu’s descriptions.

The green idol had also experienced his company’s special gym torture before. After You Qiuqiu had reminded him of those hellish exercises that he had to do before, his calf twitched in fear of meeting with another personal trainer.

“I won’t eat anymore.”

He would rather clamp his mouth shut than be forced to go to the gym for eating too much.

You Qiuqiu praised Fang Shubai’s change of mind and understanding of the situation. She walked in front of the stall owner and ordered. “Please add a chicken fillet, some beef tenderloin, shredded dried pork, and ham sausage. Thank you!”

Vegetable salad is indeed healthy, and suitable for people who want to lose weight. Adding more ingredients isn’t a big deal, it just makes food more delicious!

“…” Fang Shubai felt this situation was a little backward.

But, seeing that You Qiuqiu was pleasantly eating, he caved, and decided to buy a piece of grilled sausage.

“Senior sister, where are you from?”

“I’m from Fujian.”

Both of them started chatting while they ate.

You Qiuqiu raised his eyebrows when she heard this, “Fujian man…”

She lengthens her speech.

“I am Cantonese.”

“I don’t know if Fujianese are delicious.”

" "

Fang Shubai: ???

As a native of Fujian Fang Shubai shiver when he heard this, how could this senior sister be so scary.

“I don’t taste good.”

In the end, not only did Fang Shubai not get to eat his highly recommended (and super delicious) salad, but he also ended up paying for You Qiuqiu’s meal. Asking her to eat a little more, so that she doesn’t think about eating the Fujianese. I mean, the deluxe version of the salad should be even more delicious, right?

Meanwhile, You Qiuqiu thinks it’s fun to mess with her juniors. Salad is delicious, and if there’s only meat in the salad, it would be perfect.

You Qiuqiu don’t know if other groups wanted to pick fights with her… and she didn’t care.

She and Fang Shubai got along harmoniously. Over the next few days, the two made proper preparations for the early stages of the show. They also made little lunch appointments and ate the deluxe version of the salad.

Naturally every time You Qiuqiu ate the salad, she had to rinse her mouth very, carefully.

By now Fang Shubai also understood You Qiuqiu’s salted fish (or lazy) attitude after hanging out with her for the last few days. Seeing a woman like her being cautious was a rarity. Honestly, who wouldn’t be a little curious?

Was this just a peculiar habit of hers? He had to say that senior sister was a rather particular person.

You Qiuqiu was suffering in bitter silence, and couldn’t explain why she was the way she was.

If you have a dogged boss whose nose is so damned good that he can smell what kind of food she eats, another person will know why she did it.

Although You Qiuqiu can pretend not to exercise in front of Fang Shubai without worry because she looks slender and thin, if it had to be in front of Sheng Shiyun, she’d have to instantly surrender.

She didn’t have the guts to lie to him.

Maybe because You Qiuqiu had done well, and she’s more than prepared herself these last few past days, Sheng Shiyun hadn’t not come to see her practice, nor did he suddenly give her surprise attack.

After two days of preparations and rehearsals, the official recording of the show began.

You Qiuqiu and Fang Shubai are relatively young, so the program director put them together in the same group as their peers. So, they’ll be performing second.

“Senior sister, are you nervous?” Fang Shubai couldn’t help but ask after hearing the heartbreaking quarrel between the actors on stage.

Both of them had changed into their costumes and stood in line in the waiting area backstage. They were waiting for the first group to finish their performance.

The clothes Fang Shubai wore had a complicated textile pattern, making him look graceful and luxurious. If You Qiuqiu could sum up his look with a sentence, it would be: “very rich.”

Fang Shubai’s character was indeed a very rich man. His character, according to the crew, was the emperor. He had to hide his golden hair with a wig.
