“Start!”

Xu Zhe’s voice rang above them.

Three stones the size of watermelons lobbed toward the pig-headed monster and Liu Chuanfeng. The three gamers throwing stones were high up and every stone was at least ten catties in mass. The force behind their throws, combined with gravity, was extremely powerful. The stones fell on the two of them, making loud collision noises in rapid succession.

Liu Chuanfeng took only one blow to the head and he immediately turned into a wisp of smoke and dissipated. The pig-headed monster, on the other hand, had thick skin. Although a stone hit the monster right in the face, it did not flinch at the onslaught of stones raining down on him. One of its approximately ten-centimeter-long teeth broke in half after a bloody collision with a stone that landed from the air.

The gamers threw out all the stones they had ready beside them. Some of them hit their target while some did not. They had caused damage to the pig-headed monster, but it was far from fatal.

“Grrr!”

When they stopped, the pig-headed monster, the victim of consecutive attacks, got completely riled up. It stomped toward Xu Zhe’s direction without a care in the world and attacked. Xu Zhe rolled on the floor and crawled to the other side, and then there was a loud cacophony of sounds. The heavy stones shook the monster’s face, and the monster took a few steps back shakily, stumbling on its feet like it was drunk.

“Dafa!”

Xu Zhe shouted. As the monster’s blood-red eye stared at him, he realized that the pig-headed monster was on the verge of recovering from the blows.

He reacted too late, though. The pig-headed monster rushed forward quicker than expected, and its meaty foot stomped on Xu Zhe’s chest heavily. With a poof, Xu Zhe turned into smoke and disappeared on the spot.

“F*ck, I was too slow!”

On the other side, Zhuang Dafa had just clambered down from the top of the pile of boulders. He scratched his head in regret seeing Xu Zhe’s death. Next, he saw the pig-headed monster turn its eye on him. Taking a deep breath, he yelled loudly at the monster, “You bastard! Come bite me!”

He lifted his shirt up, revealing his round belly, and patted it. He then swayed left and right, shaking his massive rear. “All fatty meat of the highest quality here! Meat with a better texture than yours! Come!”

The pig-headed monster became livid again as expected, whether it be due to Zhuang Dafa’s tone or his extremely taunting movements. Its right leg kicked the ground behind it a few times—like a bull charging up—and it lowered its head, before charging abruptly toward Zhuang Dafa.

Seizing the moment, Zhuang Dafa picked up a slightly flatter rectangular stone he set aside earlier and held it up in front of him like a shield.

Another loud bang. A formidable force slammed on the stone before Zhuang Dafa’s chest, propelling it—along with Zhuang Dafa—backward into the boulder pile behind them.

Blood streamed out from Zhuang Dafa’s mouth and nose. He did not know how many of his bones had shattered from the impact. Every spot on his body hurt. Despite all of that, he had survived a vicious hit from the monster.

At the moment, Sun Shuai, who had already hidden himself nearby early on, dashed out holding a boulder with both hands. He slammed it toward the monster’s pig head.

The boulder smashed on the monster’s face with a crack and shattered into several pieces. The pig-headed monster was enraged for real this time. It seized Sun Shuai in one of its hands and tossed him forcefully toward the boulders. The next moment, Sun Shuai turned into a wisp of smoke.

The pig-headed monster turned its gaze on the barely surviving Zhuang Dafa. It stomped and kicked on the boulder on top of Zhuang Dafa until Zhuang Dafa turned into smoke as well, but it was not satisfied after that, stomped a few more times on the ground.

After that, it surveyed its surroundings with its one barely functioning eye. It spotted Ma Xiaoling, who was hiding behind the boulders, holding a wooden pole with a slightly sharpened tip.

“Grrr!” The enraged monster let out another furious howl as it stampeded toward Ma Xiaoling.

“Ah!”

Ma Xiaoling was already extremely scared by the gamer-and-monster battles she had witnessed. She was so scared at the sight of the monster rushing toward her she screamed loudly.

She had died quickly the previous few times she came into contact with the beast. Although she knew that this was nothing but a game, she could not suppress the fear rushing up in her. She closed her eyes, clutching the wooden pole.

The pig-headed monster had only taken a few steps before someone leaped out from its side. The person was the newly respawned Liu Chuanfeng. He picked up the gudao from before and slashed the monster’s thigh with it.

As the blade tore through skin, blood gushed out.

A gaping wound appeared on the monster’s abnormally thick thigh. It felt so much pain it howled loudly and furiously. When it caught sight of the gudao Liu Chuanfeng held in his hands, its fury intensified, to the extent that it reached out to grab at Liu Chuanfeng’s shoulder despite the pain it was currently feeling.

Liu Chuanfeng, with his oily hair and spindly legs, feinted left and right with the agility of a praying mantis. His motions were already flexible, and the gudao he was wielding seemed to help with his self-confidence. He jabbed at the monster from time to time and always dodged to the side after an attack.

He had figured out the monster’s habits. Probably owing to its huge stature, the monster moved in a straightforward way. It was fast but took a longer time to change direction.

That, combined with the depletion of its energy due to the previous attacks and the injuries it had gotten prior, meant that it was not doing well compared to before.

The pig-headed monster was breathing heavier. At the later stages of the battle, it stopped attacking Liu Chuanfeng. Liu Chuanfeng was ecstatic because he thought that it meant his chance was coming. He dodged aside and raised his gudao high up, wanting to land another blow on the monster. Just as he jabbed his gudao outward…

The pig-headed monster, which looked completely exhausted, stuck its hand out and grabbed the gudao tightly. Then it growled suddenly and seized Liu Chuanfeng by his shoulder, lifting him into the air.

“This is a great chance!”

The change in position was beyond Liu Chuanfeng’s expectation. He did not expect an NPC monster to be able to fake exhaustion and trick its enemies. Xu Zhe, who was running back from the respawning point, was huffing and panting, but he did not hesitate—he saw a great opportunity.

He bent down and picked up a sharpened stone. As the pig-headed monster dealt with Liu Chuanfeng, Xu Zhe rushed toward them, clutching the stone in his fist, and without hesitation leaped up suddenly and stabbed it in the monster’s one good eye.

“Ow—Ah—”

The monster let out a piteous howl. In the blink of an eye, both Liu Chuanfeng and Xu Zhe were sent flying out, bearing the brunt of the raging monster’s terrifying force. They collided with the boulders behind them and were sent back to the respawning point immediately.

Sun Shuai, who had gotten himself resurrected again, rushed toward the area, a heavily panting Zhuang Dafa behind him. They were back to tip-top condition after respawning every time, but the few hundred meters between the respawning point and their destination was enough to push Zhuang Dafa, a barrel-shaped homebody weighing over two hundred catties, to his breaking point.

Sun Shuai wanted to look for an opportunity to land a fatal blow on the already heavily injured pig-headed monster, but he could not, not in the face of the completely enraged monster. So he waited for the other three to respawn. All of them surged forward and started another round of attacks.

As expected, they were sent back to the respawning point again. After seeing the pig-headed monster this time however, they saw hope.

After being attacked constantly and losing its eyesight, the pig-headed monster could only huff and pant heavily. It became slower and its steps became heavier. Blood gushed out of its wounds.

“Ah, careful!”

Just as everyone was preparing to start the last round of attacks, they noticed something: the monster was wobbling on its feet.

It started retreating, stepping away from them as if it were scared of them. Coincidentally, it was heading toward the spot where Ma Xiaoling hid in.

There was a loud squelching sound, followed by an enraged howl that shook the ground. The pig-headed monster lowered its head forward in a frenzy, and its massive body collided with a boulder, resulting in a loud bang. It then collapsed on the floor.

Everyone saw a long pole protrude out of that vulnerable spot at the monster’s rear. Half of it was already inside its body.

Xu Zhe, Sun Shuai, Liu Chuanfeng, and Zhuang Dafa felt their butts clench at the sight of the seemingly immobile monster on the floor.

Hours of exhausting battle, but they could not take any credit for that last attack that did it…

“I’ve disappointed Mr. Zhao. All those years spent watching Animal World1, and I forgot everything!!”

Zhuang Dafa exclaimed. The others nodded in agreement.

“What happened?”

Ma Xiaoling opened her eyes and got up from the ground. She looked down at the pig-headed monster with fear before turning her gaze toward the other four people, who were all wearing unreadable expressions, feeling confused.
