Chapter 10

The Captain's Problem

After I equipped my weapons and armor, we headed to the gate of the castle wall.

After talking to the receptionist, We went through the gate and went outside the city walls.

Finally, it is time for the first battle of the [Dragon Killer Squad].

"We are going to run to the target area!"

"Understood"

"Understood"

"Roger that"

Rohee, Katia, and Flambert responded to my command in unison.

I think that the beautiful voices of these three beautiful women are even better than the divas of the kingdom.

That's why it felt really great having to command these three older women.

As my excitement continues to rise, we run to the meadow where the knights of the kingdom are fighting while we met with our allies on the way there.

While running I was even more surprised.

The Knights that were following us aren't being left behind and they are also able to follow my pace.

This is really good as I felt really comfortable as we were moving in a very smooth pace.

If it had been my usual group together with Greita and my classmates, I would have slowed down my pace considerably as they won't be able to follow my pace when I run seriously.

Well even if they are like that to be honest one of the great things about them is their ability to run away.

Even though they are only C class knights they can outrun A class dragons and can do that until I come to their rescue.

Their survival rate alone can probably be comparable to us S class knights.

...

The knights of the Kingdom of Elgandi were fighting a flock of dragons in the vast grassland.

As expected of them, most of the small fry enemies such as dragon men and dragon babies have been wiped out already and they had been able to reduce the number of A class dragons to less than 10.

It also looks like no knights had been killed and no one seemed to be seriously injured.

As expected of the A class knights of the Kingdom.

They are all excellent.

However this is really strange.

It's usual that a flock of dragons have dragon men and dragon with them.

But it's really unusual to see so many A class dragons flocked together like this.

Dragons has a habit of not forming a flock with other dragons of the same level.

Well it's normal if they were a pair but this time there were too many of them together.

Wait is it possible that a male dragon is trying to form a harem?

Well if that is true then that is one cocky dragon.

I heard that dragons since back then have only formed a couple with one partner for a long time but I wonder if that's true?

Maybe that has changed?

But then again humans have always been monogamous, so it wouldn't surprise me if dragons are like that too.

"There are so many dragons but it looks like the knights doesn't seem to be outnumbered."

Flambert-sensei sounded relief when she said that.

"What are we going to do captain?"

Rohee who had a hammer on his shoulder asked me.

"I don't want to break the flow of battle of the knights by joing them in the melee, so Flambert-sensei.."

"Yes?"

"Lure the two dragons on the far left this way."

"Roger that"

Flambert-sensei then unfolded her large bow that she's carrying on her back.

After that as expected of the Sapphire Knight she formed an iced arrow using her magic and attached it to her bow.

This is her signature move the Ice Arrow.

It is said that she became an archer when she awakened that magic.

Even though she's an archer she's also quite good on using a sword.

The large arrows like icicle that sensei formed has no concept of running out of ammunition.

It is also said that shooting magic like that is more accurate and easier than normally casting a spell and throwing it at the opponent.

And right now Flambert-sensei proved that when she fired the arrows in her large bow, the arrows drew a curved line and hit the two dragons about 100 meters away.

After that she fired arrows in a rapid succession.

Not even once did she missed.

That's why it's really amazing to have that kind of accuracy in that distance.

However due to the distance and the scales of the dragons the damage were really not that effective.

A class dragons has soft flesh on its head and abdomen so even if you hit its back which composed of thicker scales it wouldn't do that much damage.

But since we only did that to lure them to us so its fine.

The dragons became angry after being hit by so many icicles, they turned their heads towards us and let out an angry roar.

After that the two dragons break away from the flock and rushed towards tus.

There were also dragon men and dragon babies surrounding them.

When Flambert-sensei saw that she instantly changed her target to them.

Although her target was smaller than an A class dragon she hit them all in the head without missing a single shot.

After that all the dragon men and the dragon babies that were accompanying the two A class dragons were all wiped out.

"OK the two A class dragons are now coming towards us!"

Katia readied her buster lancer.

Rohee also took out her magnum hammer off his shoulder..

And I also drew my longblade and we started ruining.

"I'll take out this one, you guys go and take care of that one."

Rohee and the others were surprised at first at my instruction but when they saw a dragon coming towards then they immediately responded "Yes, sir!".

After confirming that they followed my orders I set my sights on the dragon on the left.

I then accelerated towards the dragon.

After a while the dragon fired a fireball at me.

"Oops!"

I already anticipated that the dragon will fire a fireball based on it's movement so I easily cut it down into two sending up the split fireball into the direction when no one was around.

I then got closer to the dragon to the point that it's within the range of my sword.

I then used the Dragon Killer Slash that I have learned from my father at the dragon in front of me.

The silver slash easily sliced the dragons scales and bones and the dragon's body was cut in half.

My father invented that sword technique to fight dragons.

And since I have master it there's no dragon that I can't kill.

With a snap I then sheathed my long blade.

When I looked at Rohee and the others I saw that they were surprisingly well coordinated.

While Rohee rushes in towards the dragon, the dragon then shoots a fireball at her but Katia successfully deflects it with her great shield.

Katia then crouched down while Rohee uses her shoulder as a spring board as she leaped towards the dragon.

Adding the power of the gravity, Rohee hits the dragon's head with her hammer.

The dragons head was then sank in the ground with a large sound.

After seeing Rohee landing on the ground and moves away from the dragon Katia delivered the final blow as she stabs the dragons head while pulling the trigger to detonate the explosive effects of her weapon.

It was a brilliant coordinated attack.

It seems that Rohee and Katia have fought together several times in the past.

Otherwise, they wouldn't have been able to pull off such a sophisticated coordinated attack after just one or two times of fighting together.

You have to know and trust your partner to be able to do that.

They don't get along well in private, but they seem to have a good chemistry in hunting.

They worked so well together that Flambert-sensei looks like she's bored.

Hmmm...each of us are highly capable individually, but as a unit, We are still not good enough.

If I had to take down the enemy by myself in the first place then there would be no point in having a unit.

There must be an efficient way to fight that makes the most of our abilities.

This is a problem that I must solve immediatly.
