AN: Happy New Year! And it’s been a while.
I apologize for making you wait so long m(_ _)m.
I’ve been absent from the series for about two months due to university entrance exams.
It was a good time to recharge my energy, and I was able to reevaluate how I write novels.
Now that the new year is here, I’d like to make a fresh start and do my best!
Oh, by the way, I’ve been accepted to university ٭❀*.
TN: Yayy~ After 2-month hiatus, this novel is live again~

First period.

All the children were gathered in the gymnasium following the instructions of the school announcement.

The principal of the school was explaining the rules and regulations of the party to all the students in the gym as a prologue to the fun and exciting party.

Normally, the children would be in an excited mood about the upcoming event, their eyes sparkling with anticipation, but this was not the place for such a cheerful atmosphere.

“Ehh, at that time, I was. Ehh, with Tomoko-san, my classmate and childhood friend…”

For 25 minutes.

This was the time when we children were forced to accompany the principal’s useless talk.

The first three minutes were just administrative notes and such, but somehow it turned into a story about the principal’s memories, and now, 25 minutes later, the story has turned into a story about the principal’s first love.

All the students were disgusted by this unproductive and useless story, and some of them even fell asleep from boredom.

I, too, was getting tired of the useless talk, and the principal’s exclamation of “Ehh” was enough to make me neurotic.

I had been totally unenthusiastic about the party, but now I was dying for it. I mean, someone please stop that principal!

However, in vain, no one could stop the principal, who was the most powerful person in the school, and the conversation continued until the principal was satisfied.

“Ehh, that’s all I have to say.”

By the time I finally heard the closing remarks, all the students were exhausted.

The principal might have been a genius in a sense, to be able to get the students who had been looking forward to the event so much to become so depressed.

After the excitement had died down, the principal stepped down from the stage and the teacher in charge of the event took the microphone.

“I-I’d like to introduce the winning prize of the fun party!”

In an attempt to somehow regain the frozen atmosphere of the place, I used a cheerful tone to introduce a topic that the students might be interested in.

I wondered if the teachers had hastily improvised something that was not in the program.

Perhaps it was the effect of this, but the children, who had been in low spirits, reacted by twitching their ears.

The sweet sound of “winner” and the enticing word “prize”.

No schoolchild would not react to this.

The atmosphere, which had been depressing because of the principal, was reheated by the anticipation and excitement of the students.

If this really ad-libbed, the teachers had done a great job.

I’m actually a little concerned about the winning prize.

Well, it’s only an elementary school event, and I’m sure the prizes are for kids.

I waited for the announcement of the prize with moderate expectations in my heart.

“The winning prize is… A set of materials to prepare you for junior high school! With this, you’ll be ready for middle school life!”

“““……”””

Silence again.

Once again, the excitement died down. It was a natural reaction.

After all, it was a prize for a school event. It was only natural that the prizes should be related to study.

However, for the children who loved toys and games and had no interest in studying, the prize was the most unwanted thing they could think of.

If it was a cartoon stationery set or something like that, they would be interested in it, but if it was a textbook for junior high school students, they wouldn’t be interested at all.

It was supposed to make up for the principal’s long talk, but instead, It ended up giving them a hard time.

As a result, the tension of all the children dropped.

Except for only one…

“(Wa… I want!! I want it so badly!!)”

28-year-old kid on the inside. That’s me.

As I’m currently focusing on my junior high school studies, it’s something I’m dying to get my hands on.

The textbook I bought during the summer vacation started to fill up, and when I was considering buying a new one, this prize came out as if I had planned it.

In addition, it has all five subjects (Japanese, math, English, and social studies), and it is perfectly thick.

TN: That’s 4…

With that set, I won’t have to worry about study textbooks for a year!

Contrary to the people around me, I was the only one who was enthusiastic and excited.

It was as if I had lied about my reluctance, and now I was full of energy.

“(Children’s deception is the best! My body is in the first grade of elementary school! Let’s play right into the hands of the teachers and do our best to have a fun party!)”

I was burning with motivation and enthusiasm for the fun party.
