Chapter 22 Carl’s advice (add 1, add more flowers!)

When Carl and others stepped out of Rivendell, they were already noticed.

Since the last defeat, Azog led his army to guard the jungle in front of Rivendell overnight, monitoring all exits.

The enemy of his life is here, so Azog is not discouraged by the little setback of encountering the elves.

And he didn’t believe that Thorin could stay in Rivendell for the rest of his life.

Therefore, when Carl and his party stepped out of Rivendell, they were discovered by his guarded eyeliners.

Carl and Gandalf had to set foot on the flight again, but this time, with the help of horses presented by the elves, they were soon freed from the pursuit of Azog.

Seeing that his Eteng Steppenwolf could not catch up with the disappearing figures in front of him, Azog was so angry that he was about to explode.

These goddamn elves will only ruin his good deeds.

He thought with resentment in his heart, but Azog still did not give up the pursuit, because the direction that Sorin and the others fled from – Lonely Mountain, was his territory.

Carl and the others leaned on the horses to gradually throw Azog behind him.

After running for half a day, a towering mountain range finally began to appear in front of him.

The mountain range runs north-south. At first glance, it is huge and thick and stretches for thousands of miles, covered with strange rocks and twisted trees.

While the vegetation still looks lush and green, it doesn’t feel as peaceful and serene as Rivendell’s.

Now that the mountain is standing, Carl and the others have to abandon their horses and move forward on foot.

They traveled across the Misty Mountains, and then to the Old Pass, where a road forged by men and elves led to the Mirkwood.

Without wasting time, the people began to get into the forest and crawl up the valleys and ravines.

When Azog caught up, he found that there were only a dozen horses dangling around, which made him very angry.

So, he began to summon Orc in Lonely Mountain and entered the mountain to search, but this made the originally silent misty mountain range leading to the old pass turbulent.

As the road ahead, crossed one mountain after another, the environment around everyone gradually changed.

The altitude is getting higher and higher, and the climate has become colder. I don’t know when, the surrounding area has gradually been covered by ice and snow.

The figures of all the people are slightly insignificant under the huge mountains and the dazed snow scene.

Another half day gone.

“Let’s rest, everyone, and go on after the wind and snow has passed!” cried Gandalf.

Today’s weather is not really good, the cold wind blows on people’s faces, and there is a biting pain. It’s not a wise choice to drive in such weather.

Everyone had no objection. They found a crack where they could avoid the wind and snow, and they all hid in it.

Hiding in the cracks in the icy valley, and looking at the dazed mountains and snowy scenery outside the cracks, Carl glanced at the old wizard beside him and asked boredly:

“Gandalf, why did you choose to continue walking with us? I thought you were going to the Rudolph Hills.”

He was a little suspicious. Because as early as Redagast brought the news of the undead, he had seen Gandalf’s parting meaning.

Gandalf was worried, and although he didn’t say it on his face, how could he possibly hide from his observation.

So he thought that after Gandalf helped Thorin get rid of Azog’s pursuit, he would leave the team and go to the Rudor Hills to investigate.

But to his surprise, Gandalf finally chose to go with them.

That’s why Carl asked, isn’t this guy Gandalf worried about Morgul’s Blade? This is not his style.

Gandalf glanced at Carl.

“Carl, aren’t you very smart? Why not take a guess.”

Carl could see the intention of his departure earlier, but Gandalf was not surprised, but at the moment he laughed.

“This guy is so self-sufficient?” Looking at the smiling Gandalf, Carl pondered for a while, and his eyes suddenly lit up.

He seems to have overlooked something.

Now that Yawen has returned to Rivendell, her grandmother, the Elf Queen, Galadriel must have also returned to Rivendell.

And in terms of Gandalf’s relationship with Galadriel, there’s no reason why he shouldn’t be there to greet him. So Gandalf must have told Galadriel about it last night.

With the power of Galadriel, a powerful elf, he must have thought of a way to help Gandalf solve this problem.

Now that Gandalf is acting so calmly, that is proof.

Seeing Carl pondered, Gandalf smiled slightly. He didn’t think Carl could guess their arrangement, because Carl didn’t know the Elf Queen and Saruman.

Just thinking about it, Carl suddenly said: “The appearance of the undead in the high tomb of Rudor is not a simple matter. I said… Gandalf, shouldn’t you have discussed with those elves and sent someone else to replace you? Go check it out.”

The smile on Gandalf’s face froze slightly, this guy Carl, actually… guessed it?

Had he really been seen through by Carl? Or does this guy have the ability to read people’s hearts?

Gandalf was surprised and depressed at the moment, and it could be said that he had all the flavors.

Carl had been paying attention to Gandalf’s expression, and when he saw it, he knew that he should have guessed correctly.

However, he didn’t make fun of it this time, because he suddenly thought of a possibility, so he couldn’t help but continue to ask:

“I said… You shouldn’t have called Saruman the old guy with the white robe over there.”

“How do you know?” Gandalf’s mouth grew again.

His brother Saruman, the white-robed wizard, has always been in seclusion, and Galadriel rarely goes out except in the golden forest of Lothlorian.

It stands to reason that Carl shouldn’t know about this, nor should he know about their previous relationship with him.

Now, however, Carl has made his inferences, and they are in line with the facts, without error.

What basis did this guy Carl see?

Did that girl Yawen tell him? But Yawen doesn’t seem to know about it?

Doubtful in my heart, I saw Carl shook his head and said to him:

“Gandalf, give you a piece of advice, don’t trust Saruman too much, that guy’s thoughts are different from what you imagined.”

Gandalf frowned slightly, and Carl looked serious, as if he really knew a lot of things he didn’t know.

He used to think that Carl was great and smart, but now he thinks that maybe he underestimated his “old friend” too much.

As a human being, Carl knew something too broad.

In this regard, Gandalf is really a bit incomprehensible.

However, Carl actually said that Saruman had a problem and told him to be careful? Where does this come from?

Looking at Gandalf frowning, Carl knew what he was thinking.

After all, no one can suddenly believe that a brother who has known each other for thousands of years will betray him, right?

Thoughts flashed by, Carl smiled, and did not intend to continue to say more. He patted Gandalf on the shoulder and said:

“Look at your serious appearance, I’m joking, I’m scared.”

Gandalf: “…”
