“I feel numb, numb!”

“Awwwwww!~”

“This whip feels awesome!”

“Ahh, I can’t take it anymore! Let me try the other whip!”

“This whip is too much. Awww, so numb! Damn, I can’t take it anymore!”

……

Zhang Zhengdao’s jaw dropped as he stared at the door outside.

“What kind of games are you playing? Can you really use whips to make all those fancy tricks? Numb? How’d you guys do that?” Zhang Zhengdao was perplexed.

He continued to eavesdrop, listening to the faint voices inside and the sound of running water.

“I took off the faucet and enlarged the water hole. My Lightning Whip is the main whip, and yours will offer support. Let’s go!” Tong An’an said.

“Tsssss tssss tsssss!”

They channeled energy into the Lightning Whips, which immediately grew longer and entered the pipeline as Tong An’an’s ordered.

“Whooosh!”

The ten transparent Lightning Whips traveled up the water pipe, under the leader’s mind-control. Following the memorized pipeline grid, Tong’An directed them straight toward Wang Ke’s office.

“We’re almost there; the main whip already sensed the faucet in Wang Ke’s office. Listen carefully: on my command, all the whips will break out of the faucet, constrict Wang Ke and tear him to pieces! Kill him!” Tong An’an uttered.

“Understood!” The rest answered.

“Awwwww!”

The ten cohorts trembled as the electrical arcs from the Astral Infant artifacts gnawed at them. Still, the thought of killing Wang Ke helped them endure.

Everything was going according to plan; they were only waiting for their Chapter Lord’s go sign!

On God Wang Tower’s highest levels—

Zhang Li’er and the other Golden Crow Sect disciples reached the top floor.

Two of their fellow disciples were currently posted outside the main office. They were about to bow upon seeing Zhang Li’er arrive, but she stopped them.

“Eldest apprentice-sister, Wang Ke’s office seems to be isolated by an array; we can’t hear what’s happening inside, but we clearly saw him enter!” a Golden Crow Sect disciple reported.

“Alone?” Zhang Li’er asked.

“Alone!”

Her junior nodded.

“Good job!” Zhang Li’er looked satisfied.

“Sis, why don’t we go in and knock him out then?” Zhang Shenxu suggested hopefully.

Zhang Li’er shook her head, though. “It’s easy to knock him out, but it’s more difficult to take all his money. It’ll take some time to work things out on the inside!”

“Ah? Then…!” Zhang Shenxu was worried.

“It’s okay. I’m going in alone; the rest of you, keep an eye outside. Do not allow anyone to disturb us!” Zhang Li’er instructed.

“But…!”

“No ‘buts.’ Do you think I can’t deal with Wang Ke?” Zhang Li’er reassured, “Don’t worry. I will wring him to the last drop. You guys must stay here and prevent anyone from going in. You are justified to act this way since you are responsible for the tower’s security. Bar anyone from entering!”

“Okay, sis. Don’t worry; if anyone comes, I will tell them that Wang Ke doesn’t want to be disturbed by anyone!” Zhang Shenxu nodded.

“Good. Haha! We’ll return to the Golden Crow Sect and sell our own insurance after I take his money! Hahaha!” Zhang Li’er burst out laughing, giddy with excitement.

Still laughing, she pushed open the office door and entered.

There were no special mechanisms stopping her from entering. Only a screen greeted her and blocked her from seeing what was further inside.

Zhang Li’er immediately shut the door once she was in. Meanwhile, Zhang Shenxu and his juniors took positions to stop anyone from approaching.

Zhang Li’er frowned. Did I shut the door too loudly just now? Did it alert Wang Ke? I don’t hear Wang Ke making any noise inside…

“Hmm?” Zhang Li’er was puzzled.

She walked past the screen, and the entire office was before her eyes.

Curtains were drawn on all four sides to prevent anyone from peeking in. A luxurious-looking study table stood there handsomely, the bathroom right beside it; the walls were covered by massive shelves filled with books.

Everything before her eyes looked normal, except for a missing person: Wang Ke.

Where is Wang Ke? Didn’t they say he came in? Where did he go? Zhang Li’er felt lost.

The entire room was plain in construction, not leaving places to hide. But how is it that Wang Ke disappeared after entering the office? This shouldn’t be the case, right?

Zhang Li’er started having a bad feeling about the whole thing, so she went and examined her surroundings.

Just then—a creaking noise came from the bathroom.

Zhang Li’er’s eyes flashed. Is Wang Ke hiding in the bathroom?

That’s not right! That’s the sound made when the faucet’s knob is turned. No one’s there; the thing is moving on its own.

“Splash!”

A large volume of water gushed out. No one’s there; it opened on its own?

“Could it be some kind of mechanism? Or a ghost?” Zhang Li’er was perplexed.

She had already stayed in the tower for ten days and was rather familiar with the water faucet. But how could it twist open on its own?

“Wang Ke, I know you’re hiding. Stop being a fool, come out now!” Zhang Li’er demanded.

She thought that Wang Ke was hiding somewhere, waiting to give her a jump scare—

Unfortunately though, no one responded.

Zhang Li’er started looking a little frustrated, then moved to turn the faucet off.

But just when she touched the faucet—the thing exploded.

“Baaaam!”

A stream of water went straight toward Zhang Li’er.

“Child’s play! Do you think this can scare me?” Zhang Li’er snorted coldly.

She waved her sleeves, deflecting the water jet back to where it came from. The water was inconsequential in her eyes, but she didn’t expect something else to ensue.

“Booooom!”

Following the water—eleven transparent whips charged at Zhang Li’er with their powerful electrical currents.

They constricted Zhang Li’er’s limbs like an octopus’ legs.

“What!” Zhang Li’er cried out in shock.

At the same time, in Tong An’an’s guest room—

“We did it? We caught Wang Ke? I sensed the Lightning Whips changed. Quick, channel your energy to the whips and release their charge!” Tong An’an shouted in exhilaration.

“Booooom!”

Blinding rays of electrical current flashed and traveled up the Lightning Whips to Zhang Li’er, up on the top floor.

Zhang Li’er wanted to tear off the whips coiled around her body, but she was struck with countless electric shocks.

“Ahhhhh!”

She cried out in pain as the electrical currents surged through her body and her hair started to stand on end.

The powerful electric power combined with the energy released by Zhang Li’er while trying to struggle free produced a powerful clash of auras. All the things in the office fell to the ground due to the shockwave.

At the same time, in the cafeteria on the second floor—Murong Luguang stared at the small flag he carried; the item quivered and released a bright blue light.

“Eldest apprentice-brother, the ‘Immobilizing Radiance Mirror’s guidance flag’ moved. Tong An’an and his gang are on the move!” a surprised junior said.

“Good. Guidance flag, start!” Murong Luguang activated the small flag.

“Ring!”

The blue radiance grew stronger. The spell array secretly planted by Mo Sanshan in Wang Ke’s office was activated at the same time; a bright blue light appeared out of nowhere and poured into the entire office.

Shocked by electricity and soaked by the water, Zhang Li’er was still trying to break free from the transparent whips constricting her. Rays of blue light instantly washed over her; she was immediately paralyzed.

“It’s a trap!” Zhang Li’er was appalled. “Wang Ke! How dare you ambush me!”
