Tong An'an hid within a secretive building and looked toward the royal palace. He wiped beads of sweat off his forehead.

“Don’t!” Tong An'an smacked that baldhead, and the latter fell to the ground.

“What... What are you doing?’ The bald man said in shock.

“Zhu Hongyi is here too. Hide first! Don’t show yourselves!” Tong An'an warned.

“So what if Zhu Hongyi is here? Why are you afraid of him?”

Tong An'an stared at them and said, “Bullsh*t. Wang Ke is there too; he’ll know I’m here if he sees you. Hide for now, find Parlor Lord Zi later!”

“Chapter Lord, I realize that you're becoming less courageous! Like a tortoise!”

“What nonsense! Do you want to be captured again? I’m just being extra careful!” Tong An'an said.

And so, the baldies could only hide inside the building.

A bald man continued to observe and was surprised by what he saw. “The one beside Parlor Lord Zi, isn’t he.....?”

“She Tianba?” Tong An'an was also surprised.

On the cloud of bats stood a huge throng of men in black. A still oblivious Zhang Shenxu was taken along. Standing at the forefront, the attractively dressed Zi Bufan was accompanied by She Tianba.

“I drugged Zhang Shenxu; he won’t be waking up for quite a while!” She Tianba said.

“I wanted Zhang Li'er, but having him works the same. This pair of siblings are quite cautious; my men failed to capture them quite a few times! You actually managed to catch him. Hmm, not bad!” Zi Bufan nodded.

“Thank you, Parlor Lord!” She Tianba said.

“You and Wang Ke have a grudge?” Zi Bufan asked, looking at the latter.

“An irreconcilable grudge! Parlor Lord, if you’re planning on destroying the Wang Clan on behalf of Master Zi, please grant me the privilege to behead Wang Ke myself!” She Tianba requested.

“That will depend on your capability!” Zi Bufan said calmly.

“Parlor Lord, I came to the capital before, I can help you locate Wang Ke and his men; they’re most likely staying in the royal palace. Ahh, I see him! Over there, that’s Wang Ke!” She Tianba felt elated.

He thought he would be in big trouble for losing Zi Bufan’s money, but she was quite pleased with him for taking Zhang Shenxu to her. She Tianba was feeling all lucky once again.

Wang Ke was just about to step out of the palace when he saw a horde of demons descending from the sky.

Soon, another throng of demons dressed in black walked out from behind him and stood by his side.

The group defending Wang Ke was close to thirty-demon strong. She Tianba—who was about to attack—was stunned. He halted everything he was about to do.

“Parlor Lord, Wang Ke made preparations!” She Tianba said in embarrassment.

“Whoosh!”

The demons descended from the cloud.

“Greetings, Parlor Lord Zi!” the demons behind Wang Ke greeted her.

She Tianba’s eyes glistened upon seeing them greeting his protector, “You guys are demonic disciples? Then why aren’t you stepping aside? Our sole purpose is to capture Wang Ke! Obstructing us is an act of rebellion!”

She Tianba wanted to intimidate Wang Ke’s demon helpers, but he was ignored.

“Zhu Yan? You didn’t accomplish what you promised me!” Zi Bufan said to the ex-emperor standing behind Wang Ke.

Zhu Yan’s face froze, “Parlor Lord Zi, I wanted to help you, but…!”

The latter’s heart was wrought with such bitterness, but he couldn't say it out loud. I am helping you! But who could ever think that the events would progress this way?

Although Zi Bufan was admonishing the former emperor, she was gauging Wang Ke simultaneously.

“Misunderstandings? Humph, Wang Ke, do you really think all misunderstandings can be resolved?” She Tianba said mockingly.

The men in black and She Tianba widened their eyes in shock.
