Inevitably Trapped With The Amorous Husband

Unlike a normal wife who finds out their husband was caught in a car accident, Xiulan arrived with a composed demeanor and eyes with mo tears to shed. The bodyguards and Hongqi's father looks at her oddly. 

"Father." Xiulan coldly greeted her father-in-law. They rarely see each other and the last time she saw this old man was during her second wedding with Hongqi.

Her father-in-law, Xing Yong Yi, only greeted her with a curtsy smile and hugged her for a moment. "He'll be fine. He's a strong man." her father-in-law assured her.

"Yes." Xiulan blandly responded.

Secretary Yang Bo strangely looks at the madame. "How can she be so calm right now? Her husband is currently inside the ER with a 50/50 chance to live." he secretly thought and questions the madame's response towards this incident.

All of them have the same thoughts. They are not accusing her to be a suspect, but her response to this incident is a little strange for a wife.

Actually, Xiulan may look like she doesn't care, too calm for this kind of situation, and has a poker face but she's actually very nervous, worried, and cold sweat is forming over her hands and body. She's just very good at composing herself and controlling her emotions.

They wait outside the ER for almost four hours. Since most of the doctors who attended Hongqi's surgery were top surgeons in the country, it took them longer due to they were more fastidious and careful. If they fail then two of the country's prominent families will be at their throats.

"The family of young master Xing?" someone from the emergency room came out.

"Here." Xing Yong Yi answered. Xiulan followed suit.

"I am one of the attending neurosurgeons of Xing Hongqi, Dr. Feng." the doctor introduced himself and shook the hands of Xiulan and Yong Yi. "The patient is now in a stable condition. We are not sure yet when he will wake up. But we would like you to be ready if he doesn't wake up within a certain period of time then it might lead to a state of comatose. The injury…" the doctor explained his injury, the methods they did to Hongqi, his status, and what the patient's family should do while they wait for him to wake up and recover. 

Hongqi was now sent to a private and presidential room. Xiulan, Yang Bo, and Yong Yi proceed to the same room. 

"Yang Bo, I know you might need a lot of explaining to do once you go back to the office tomorrow. I'll go in Hongqi's stead for now." Yong Yi suddenly said while he looks at his son's vegetive state.

"Yes, master. I already sent an emergency shareholder's meeting." Secretary Yang Bo reminded.

"Good." Yong Yi looks at his daughter-in-law, "My dear Xiulan, I may need your help in taking care of my son. You and Yang Bo are the only ones I can trust right now. The traffic collision [1] may look like it was an accident but I guarantee it's not the average daily car accident. A lot of victims are at stake due to one careless motorcycle driver. I am sure it was planned." Yong Yi requested and he sounded a bit angry. 

"Father, I would like to help with the investigation." Xiulan volunteers. With her hacking skills, she may be able to find out if this was a calculated plan or an unfortunate accident.

"Is it okay? I heard you have a lot of things to do in your company." her father-in-law looks at her with a concerned look. He knows how capable his daughter-in-law but he wants to respect that she also has her own life and problems. He did not want to disturb her that much.

"Of course. This is for my husband, your son, our family is my priority," Xiulan passionately claimed.

Yong Yi smiled at his daughter-in-law's declaration, "I am very thankful that you are my daughter-in-law." He hugs her and patted her back and head. "I will leave after an hour. I still need to attend some matters for tomorrow's meeting. Just let Yang Bo or the guards know if you need anything, okay?"

"Yes. Thank you, father." she courteously smiled.

Xiulan was left alone with Hongqi after an hour. Secretary Yang Bo had to go with Yong Yi to assist him. While Xiulan waits for Hongqi to gain consciousness, she called for Secretary Dandan to bring her office laptop to the hospital.

After getting her laptop, she started connecting her laptop to her own portable wifi and began her search for the CCTVs. She immediately got the footage and reviews the disastrous incident.

According to the earlier investigation, the initial cause of the collision was the sudden sharp turn of a motorcycle. Due to the sharp turn, the following ten-wheeler truck of a gravel company had to make an abrupt stop and unluckily his brakes were not working properly. The diver of the truck had to hit a concrete barrier so that he will not hit the car in front of him and also to alleviate his speed.

But due to the abrupt blockage of the truck, the rest of the following vehicles behind it were not able to control and cease their breaks. Hongqi's car was the third car in the collision. He and the driver are in critical condition. 

Hongqi's head profusely bleeds while the driver's legs might need to be amputated. Fortunately, the two convoys following him only got some scratches and head bumps. Those two convoys have an in-house paramedic and were able to quickly give Hongqi first-aid. Honqgi's men were really reliable, as soon as the two convoys sent a distress call, an emergency van appeared after only ten minutes. Of course, they also sent multiple vans to help the other victims.

Xiulan kept replaying the part where the motorcycle appeared. The motorcycle was suspiciously too slow and it always kept a good distance from the ten-wheeler truck. When they are five kilometers away from a split intersection, the motorcycle deliberately occupies the center of the road. Of course, the truck driver will wait for the motorcycle's signal lights so he will know which road it will go and adjusts the speed. 

The motorcycle's signal lights were on the left and since the truck is going right, he speeds up a little. It was all good until the motorcycle did not change the road and continues driving in the same road as the truck. The truck had a delay in controlling his speed. Add that the motorcycle abruptly made a sharp turn so that he can go back to the split intersection. It was an obvious road crime to do that. Due to the sudden turn, the truck had to hit a concrete barrier to save the car in front of it.

"This motorcycle driver is stupid. How did this person even pass the driver's license test?" Xiulan irritably mutters.
