Infection: Dying Days

Chapter 57 - First Blood (2)

Although me and Andy were running at them, we weren't shouting like you'd see people on TV do. This is an extremely dangerous situation. If we were to notify them of our presence as we were trying to ambush him, Me, Andy and everybody else would die an unhappy death.

Luckily, they were too busy laughing and joking amongst themselves about how their going to ****, Big Sis and the others to notice us. We were able to get close with no problem.

"..."

".."

I made eye contact with Big Sis and sent 'you handle him' with my gaze. It was momentary but it was long enough for her to understand what I meant. I trust that she can handle that douche bag holding the gun (Looter A) with relative ease. However, for her to take him out with relative ease, me and Andy would need to get the drop on the looters first. While Big Sis is a martial arts expert, she can't absorb or dodge bullets like it's nothing.

I also gave signals to Amanda and Sara with my eyes as well. We'll need their help to take these looters out. We outnumber them by three so why not use this to our advantage?

We closed in on our respective targets.

Andy was aiming for the guy with the big a.s.s bowie knife (who I'll call Looter B), he's got a bat so as long as he stays his distance and hits him nice and hard, he'll be alright. As for my target...

"That's right, stand back up for me. I want to see that fire in your eyes as I treat you to something that's nice and hard!"

I have the guy with the sledgehammer (Looter C). He's a bit brawnier than the other two but since he hit David with a cheap shot and threatened Sara. I'll make sure he'll never be able to use his little jr. again.

When I got a little more than a few feet away from him...

"Haha, how about we begin the fun? Hm? Oh sh*t!"

He suddenly glanced over his shoulder. Seeing me so close to him and armed with a sharp object, Looter C exclaimed in surprise. This in turn draws the looters attention towards me. But it was too late for them to react.

Big Sis smacks the pistol from Looter A's hand and kicks him in the c.h.e.s.t, causing him to stumble a couple feet. Andy struck Looter B in the legs with the bat, producing a crisp *snap* sound, dropping him to the ground.

And I, not letting Looter C get the chance to swing his sledgehammer, I stab at the homemade shank into the back of his shoulder. Blood instantly starts to pour out.

"You little bastard!"

Amazingly, with one hand, Looter C was able to swing the sledgehammer. Surprised at the fact that Looter C had such strength, I quickly dodge it and retreat a few feet. I really didn't expect him to wield that hammer so easily.

Usually sledgehammers have heads that weigh ten pounds or more, so it should've taken a little bit of effort for him to pick it up and swing it. Unfortunately, I was mistaken. Reaching at his bleeding shoulder, Looter C licked the blood and said tauntingly.

"Come on! That's the best you can do?"

In response to this, I rush towards him and try to slash at him with my shank.

"Haha, what was that supposed to do?"

Looter C blocks my attack using the long handle of the sledgehammer. However, little did he know that my attack was only a feint.

Because behind him…

WHAM! WHAM! WHAM!

"Agh!"

Was David landing solid hooks into both his right and left sides, more specifically his kidneys. He was trying his best to damage them as much as possible.

David knows how to box so he knew that one of the most dangerous places to hit a person was in their kidneys. The moment these organs start bleeding due to the blunt trauma received from the punches, the person in question would feel unimaginable pain, extreme tenderness and possibly have a few broken ribs. If not treated quickly, it can cause severe health problems, potentially life threatening.

And this was what David was aiming for. He, just like me, wanted this guy to suffer. How dare he threaten my people? How dare he threaten to **** my childhood friends? So with Looter C having all his attention on me and his back wide open, David got behind him and started whaling. But because this guy is quite brawnier than the other two looters, he's got to put more force into his punches.

"A-agh! You son of a b*tch!"

Looter C swings his sledgehammer at David in anger, leaving his side open to me. Using this opportunity...

SLASH!

"Aaagh!"

I slice the back of his heel, severing his achilles tendon, resulting in him falling to the ground with a loud and miserable shriek. Looking at me with eyes full of pure hatred, Looter C shouts.

"You motherf*cker! I'm going to kill you, chop your f*cking corpse up and feed you to my f*cking dog!"

In response to this, I simply ignored him and looked around.

Looter A. He's laying on the ground with a crooked nose, a broken arm, and a deformed wrist. He doesn't seem to be in pain other than the occasional groan he leaks out when he uses his unbroken arm to cradle the broken and deformed one.

Good job Big Sis. I knew I could believe in you!

Andy is hovering over Looter B like some sort of executioner as he plays with his newly gotten knife like was some big toy. Every once in a while, he would giggle creepily. This caused Looter B, who has a broken leg, to shake uncontrollably as he looked at Andy with fear.

Andy, I know you doing it to scare him but aren't you taking this too far? Even I'm a little scared.

Amanda on the other hand, was in the embrace of Big Sis, and Sara. Under the caring and gentle voices of those two, Amanda quietly had tears in the corners of her purple eyes and was shivering occasionally. She was relieved that they were safe and at the same time scared about what happened. Although Big Sis and Sara weren't showing it, I know that they too were feeling the same way as her.

...It's been tough on them. No, on us. A little more than twelve hours ago, we were your average high school students. Heh, now look at us. We've stolen someone else's truck, stolen clothes from a clothing store, and just stabbed and maimed a few people. This is too much for teenagers like us to handle! But despite me saying all this...

"I'm glad that everyone is safe."

That's all that matters. As long as these five people are safe and sound, then everything we did was completely worth it.
