Insanity At Its Best

Chapter 17 - The Face Of Insanity

"Well then! I think it would be most best if I returned back home," Jake said to Heather. Heather stared him for a couple of minutes and freed herself from her gaze. Jake turned around and looked at Heather in confusion and asked, "Is something wrong?"

"Oh it's nothing! Don't worry about it. Yes, you were saying of how you want to return. Unfortunately, only you can do that, master, but before that I have a question," said Heather.

"Yes?" said Jake.

"Why do you act a certain way in front of others and not when you are alone?"

"You mean 'why do I act crazy and psychotic in front of other people?'"

Heather nodded; Jake moved forward and stared into the sky with an exquisite smile written on his face. He walked over to Heather, bent down to her level, raises his hand, extended his thumb and pressed it against her forehead. An immediate shock went to her brain, short-circuiting her mainframe. She fell down on the ground and rubbed her forehead to ease her pain, as she did it she slowly opened her eyes with little effort. She saw her master's true face. He had a stitch starting from the top of his forehead to his nose and ending near his left lower chin, venomous nerves start from his sideburn extending the branches that were grazing on his eyes which were red and black, his cheeks with little pimples pouring blood without end. Heather looked in confusion instead of shock. Jake was startled by her reaction and asked;

"Don't you find this repulsive?"

"Not at all, but this certainly does not answer my question," Heather replied.

"I was never crazy at first, someone did this to me. I'm still me but I tend to change every now and then."

"Master, you don't need to hide in front of me. My duty is to fulfill your needs and wants despite who you are."

"Gee, thanks."

"Alright then" Jake said as he altered his face to its previous state. "Guess I'll be going now," He said to Heather, ignited in flames, skyrocketed and soared in the sky. He accelerated, halted midair and plummeted rapidly. As he was falling, he raised his leg and stomped on the ground causing a slight quake. He rose to his feet, c.a.r.e.s.sed his hair, grinned extensively, looked above to the heavens and said;

"Wow! You shouldn't have given me such power."

"Who are you talking to?" a voice said from behind. Jake turned around to see a young man around the age of twenty dressed in a black and red checkered shirt, jeans and a pair of red sneakers with him holding a red jacket behind his back using his index finger. Jake immediately thought to himself that he has recognized these clothes before, and then it hit him that this was his previous set of clothes. His clothes changed after the battle with Kamikal. His current clothes were a black t-shirt with a stretched blood red cloak. He couldn't pinpoint on who this was as his image was lingering on Jake's mind.

"The name's Gabe! Gabe Denson!"

"Hey Gabe, I can't afford to chit-chat right now but could you tell me where am I?"

"Sure, you're in Slynn City. Actually, you're in Slynn City's famous farmlands, Gabe's Gardens. I know I know, even though this is a farm it's a bit peculiar to name it Gardens don't you think?"

"Gabe, could you lead me to Slynn's asylum? I need to be there ASAP."

"No problem. Let me get my truck!" Gabe rushed to his rusty barn in the distance. Jake started to worry as he remembered that he must explain to Damion and the doctor back in the asylum of what happened. Whilst he was wondering, a sudden roar echoed in his ear and the barn's doors burst open with a humongous truck with flames exhausting from its front and rear. This wasn't any old truck, it was a beast with a height of 18 feet, it was chalky white and misty silver in color with a monstrous smile on the front. Gabe shouted from the truck;

"Isn't she a beauty?"

Jake smiled and seated in the back of the truck, Gabe stomped on the accelerator and the engine revved and took off with immense speed. He made quick turns and made careful that he didn't make any contact with the cars in the city. He grazed on a few but ignored that fact. Jake thought to himself as he was observing the maniac in the driver's seat;

"The first guy I meet after a long day was this psycho. Looked normal but he is totally nuts. That's refreshing. Huh"

Gabe put all his might and force to the brakes as the truck halted with a ear-ripping and screeching noise. Jake thanked Gabe and requested him to stay outside for a while as he would return soon; Gabe tossed a cell phone at him and smiled. Jake turned around once more and ran with aggression inside the hospital. He dashed through the hallways while he observed many patients on the floor grunting while the lights were shattered or rather flickering. He brought his running to a halt as he observed his best friend on the floor with his hand on his abdomen whilst it was bleeding with no end. He opened his eyes with soreness and gazed at Jake, he muttered to him;

"Where…..Where...Where have you...been?"

Jake heard a loud clink and a blade emerged under his chin, he turned his head to see a man's tongue extending. Jake grinned and began to laugh maniacally. The man in the dark laughed as well, Jake said;

"Sorry to keep you waiting...…..Destructive One."
