Shit.

So that's his aim since the beginning.

I grit my teeth but in the middle, it turns into a grin, a gleam of red passed my eyes.

Hehehe.

I would never expect that I thought the Antares is his minion but instead he uses it to buy time to corrupt the goddess inside.

[Combat Shift]

The moment the spell is done, I was transported in light speed to where the rest of the party converged.

I promptly raised my shield and tried to block the arrow she manifested and launched.

A great reverberation resounded through the ceiling of the caves.

Boom!

"Dro'zah!"

My armor was dented slightly and I was sent back in a great force until I touch the hard ground.

It hurts, I swear there's a sound of crack on my back.

The shield didn't hold out too much after that debacle with Antares Beam. And it's a Daedric shield too, what a shame.

With a huff, I stood up once again, "Leave! Leave the area right now." Then manifesting another shield, I don't care at this point to reveal everything, and challenged the goddess with my sword pointed towards her.

A flash of red light passed between the slit of my helmet accompanied by a maniacal grin, "She's mine."

"Is he crazy, no matter how you look at it, challenging a goddess is… "

"I know this is hopeless but this is too much you know."

"How broken is he…"

A few murmurs drifted around but I don't give the slightest care even the elf who dare to hold my sword.

"No, together."

She said. What a joke.

[Paralyze]

She didn't have the resistance for the spell. Naturally, she was frozen in a state of shock.

I didn't bother to look at her as I readied my arsenal to face the goddess who been silent at the time.

"Just come back alive Dro'zah. We will have a party after this, yes?"

Ereshkigal stood in front of me. She understands me the most, huh. Then without a beat, she cupped me in the cheek whereas only cold steel greeted her lips. Though it didn't discourage her the slightest as she gave me her best smile as encouraging me.

If I was in the right mind, perhaps, I would be looking forward to her dishes and reciprocate her feeling.

But I know where the main appetite is.

I nodded at her, before my sight lingering to the possessed goddess.

"Just please save her."

The brat takes his turn apparently, he said that in a feeble voice after facing the brunt of the early attack.

No promises, I can only say that.

The dragon blood is boiling for a challenge.

"So I've been waiting for Dragonborn."

An impassive face met a grin l.u.s.ted for blood and a battle of the millennia will about to begin.

—Line Break—

Their eyes swelled up in distraught upon matching the same gaze as the knight. An orb of red that passed in a flash with a gleam of bloodl.u.s.t. It so potent that they evacuated the area without a second thought.

Some cried to go further, but the wyvern didn't allow to transport so many of them in a long distance. Such is the panic that they overloaded the transport monster.

The temple location by now was just a small dot in the far mountain.

Ran between their tails, the adventures of the bottomless pit that is Oratorio fear of their life, not of the goddess but the monster that dare to stand in her way.

Hestia could only recall in disbelief refusing what is happening to her friend. That malice, which sense of terror permeated in her mind, is not what Artemis is. Something else influenced her, corrupted her so much that only the color of her eyes remained.

Asfi carried Ryu in her hands with her flying with the Talaria, a magic boot she made that capable of flight.

By now, they rested the wyvern on a hill opposite the temple.

Some just wanted to know the exchange between the goddess and the knight.

Something in their mind passed that the battle will be cataclysmic in nature. But a flash of light in the distance proves their intuitive to be true.

Eyes widened as balls of flames spewing out the skies as the very Tenkai suddenly spilled its content to the lower world.

Rain of Meteors exploding in the vast expanse of the dead forest and tormenting it in the carnage of chaos.

What is just happening?

Is this the battle between the deities, are they about to just the witness a historical battle that will surely found its way to the history pages and the bard flute.

They could hear something humming.

Amid the chaos, there's akin to singing, a war cry in the distance.

Requiescat in pace

Then the earth trembled, as the arrows of Orion met each of those meteors above.

Primus inter pares

Nature was violated, as a sun suddenly manifested above the sky promising a searing heat of pain to those crawled below the earth.

Silent Leges

Every sound fell into silence, not ounce the cry of birds or the nearby wildlife, frozen in terror at their spot.

The sound of steel clashing against each other reverberated to the valleys

Arma silent

Then a plummet of dust was seen amongst the flames, colliding against a side of the valley. It was Artemis they realized when she coughed in a fit of blood. Soon followed by the silhouette of a certain knight with his once majestic armor on the verge of tatters.

A mace dripped in blood he held on the other hand. The socket of his eyes that could be seen faintly between the cracked helmet still held a rage as he gripped the mace and delivering it to the crumpled form of the goddess.

Prosay Solis Hossana

—Line Break—

It was the most intense five minutes he has ever had, and it was only a 10 seconds later when the battle about to begin that he has come to his senses. Though it didn't discourage him at any level to cower after making such a bold declaration instead it sharpened his mind to further degrees and bolded his resolves.

Naturally what he does was to go all out against the goddess.

Alduin, Miraak, Harkon, Molag Bal, they only serve as a long-list in my record as a Dragonborn.

If the goddess of the hunt is willing to be written among the list, then so be it. Influenced by the violent nature of Dragonborn, he never thought about what to do with the goddess if he successfully defeated her.

Even if she were killed, she will be sent back to heaven as the rules dictated. Corrupted or not.

Though of course, he had made a contingency plan that ensured his benefit in the long run. He doesn't want this battle only to fill his animal d.e.s.i.r.e after revealing many cards of his.

Luckily divine or not, the goddess possessed a mortal flesh just like many Daedra in his plane. Daedra may be invulnerable in their realm but once in the realm of a mortal, they like a fish out of the water. That's why they can be defeated by mortal as the temporary body is killed and their soul was sent back to their original realms.

Though as expected of a goddess she had a thick layer of defensive shield around her. I unleashed [The Burning Crusader] [Juggernaut] [Paladinus Auream] [One Ring] [King's Heart] [Dragon Flesh] [Dragon Hide] and [Battle Anthem] to match her abilities.

Even then it was nearly not enough as each defensive layer pelted one by one with her arrows.

"How is it Dragonborn, what a splendid new champion I have found, isn't she?"

Come to the voice of Molag that seems to source from Artemis. Her eyes were dead, and her mouth didn't budge an inch. But I know Molag is possessing that body.

"Indeed, I would never expect it. Still, this one is filled to the brim with gratitude with this piece of dessert you brought, Molag."

"Hmph, Arrogance is not the luxury a mere mortal can bring."

"As smart as always." I smiled as we danced, Artemis with her spear and I with a mace as the meteor I brought automatically dismantled with the automatic bow she manifested. "Unfortunately even the mind of a child to the wisest scholar can't decipher the gibberish you told to yourself."

We exchanged words, knowing that the slightest slip can be brought to a total and utter defeat in the outcome of the battle.

I raised my shield, deflecting the spear she thrust from above.

Two magic circles manifested just below me as a little trick while it hit the target, it didn't do any slightest damage to her.

Armor pelted, and the skin was pierced.

Unleashing each barrage of magic, then a flash of steel, we fell to the same routine in the field that smoked by the forest fires and devastation we brought to it.

Though I have to break the status quo, I can't keep my Performa so long even I get exhausted multi-tasking between clashing my swords, casting a spell, and keeping the track of Molag and the environment.

[Planar Gate]

Fou popped out of the gate, and instinctively know what was happening. He jumped up to my shoulder, supporting me with the barrage of spell that keeps distracted the goddess and obscured her vision.

"Fou!"

I was about to slam my mace to her side, but suddenly an arrow punctured me first as I launched back in a speed of light while coughing blood.

Fou seems smart enough to jump before that. Clever bastard. I have no luxury to stand up as the goddess teleported in a flash and trying to pulverize me with her kick.

Fus, Ro, DAH!!!

A thunderous shout reverberated and split the sky into two.

The goddess which I just found a brief of shock on her face was hurled to a side of the valley. This is why I seldom use the shout, it was far too powerful to use casually. Each of them is a power worthy of a dragon.

I found my breath haggard as I painfully stood up and took my mace and walked towards her. Bits of armor fell off its hinges.

I was about to lunge the mace towards the goddess, which ironically in the same way I do, she let out a shockwave which flings me back a few meters to the back.

I was dead tired at this point, and I found Fou l.i.c.k.i.n.g to my helmet. I lost the mace but screw it. I will use what is called a pro-gamer move. A grin marred my face once more as I use [Planar Gate] and brought a dozen elixir of stamina and Magicka.

Must suck to not have a storage dimension.

"You dare Dragonborn!"

After that, it seems Molag Bal infused her power with his, as her aura turned darker at an alarming pace. Her pale skin marred by dozen of the dark lining that crawled to every inch of her body. Her blue pupil turned into a black husk of puppets. And she begins to rise and hovered above the ground.

Good, it seems round 2 just about to begin.

Naturally, if the boss has a stage two, it's not fair for the other party to not have the same advantage.

Mul, Qah Div!

My other skills are currently in a cooldown period. But the shout was more than enough to cover it. A trembling roar of a dragon soon announced its presence to the world.

An ethereal armor started to fill the gaps between the armor chinks, a set of tail, wings, and horns manifested all over my body.

Fou Jumped to my shoulder and didn't bother to fact that he stood above a draconic armor.

Eager to test what the shout could do, I launched myself towards the goddess who seems comfortable to snipe me with her bow.

I dodged the arrows, side to side, making sure every step counted. As a paladin, it didn't excuse me from mastering an unarmed attack.

My natural claw as a dragon should have been enough to pierce her divine flesh. For every punch I delivered she parried, for every magic she launched fou assisted me to deflect it.

It was yet another endless barrage of attack and counter.

Of course, we fall to the same routine again, and again. But I was losing the ground as she had greater firepower and empower me with each of her attacks.

Though I won't let the battle be dragged into attrition.

A magic attack from Fou seems blinded her for momentarily but I exploit the opening by grabbing her head and smashed it to the ground.

[Fire Lotus]

With a flick of my finger, I launched a small flower of flames that perhaps too beautiful in this bleak battlefield where the forest turned into coal and ash.

I keep pulverizing her with my fist, and it was imbued with strengthening and elemental magic to maximize the damage, ensuring my dominance over her.

After a brief second passed, I flicked my finger again [Combat Shift] and teleported to the distance.

Explode.

With a command, the previous fire flower suddenly turned into a gigantic lotus flower and when it blooms a searing pain of heat could be felt from my position, and then it promptly exploded like a nuclear bomb with its infamous mushroom cloud though this one is flower-shaped.

As expected she survived the onslaught but not without a price. Her skin now marred in a degree of blisters from the fire, and I notice one of her eyes is melted.

Though it promptly regenerated back and returned to her normal condition. I'm sure it will be a tough one, I didn't expect for the last attack to be successful.

She regained her distance to me, with her spear raised up and accompanied with a dozen magic sigil behind her.

Shit.

I cast a few defensive spells to repel her attacks.

Though when the dust clears she didn't found me but instead an illusion which I placed after that explosion and I went to hiding.

I didn't use [Combat Shift] as she will easily detect me instead I use a shout.

Wuld, Nah KEST!!

And still, I relocated to her unsuspecting back as she tried to turn around but it was too late.

She stared emptily to the hand that pierces a hole to her c.h.e.s.t, with a fresh heart still beating even when it was taken out its socket.

Then with the grasp of my finger, a fresh stream of red ichor flowing out my hand as the heart got crushed.

"Impossibl-"

Molag didn't even able to utter his last word as the goddess slumped back to earth with a hole to her c.h.e.s.t. I didn't feel sorry about her, though it was the only thing I could do to sever her connection with Molag.

I closed my eyes to take a break, but when I blinked I was in the realm I familiar with as Molag Bal was there, grumbling to no end.

—Line Break—

By the time that the world descended into silence, they were sitting in the ground, jaw laying agape, and some even passed out of fear.

The landscape was terribly deranged, a portion of the hill was gone when one of them simply punched the ground.

Not to mention the terror they felt when the goddess rises again, and the knight turned into a dragon. A dragon would be the exact match when they hear those roars and their trembling knees.

And it seems the battle has ended when the dust cleared revealing a broken form of the goddess where she lay lifelessly on the ground with the knight hand covered with blood and organic matter.

Suffice to say, Bell was the most livid and the fastest to recover as he frantically runs to the location where Artemis lies.
