Is it wrong to become a scumbag?

Chapter 239: Night Lesson 2

Riveria decided to help Tsukasa, teaching him the introduction to magic. "Which part that you don't understand?" She was serious when she talked about magic, so even if she sat next to him, she didn't show much change on her face. She tucked her hair behind her ear while looking at the book opened by him.

However, if someone looked at her closely, they would show her face was slightly reddened.

While Riveria had her inner turmoil by sitting next to him, Tsukasa must admit she smelled so good. He sighed inwardly, thinking his luck had been good for a while. Not only did he become stronger, but he also got a beautiful teacher to teach him magic in the middle of the night. Somehow, some plots from an education movie he watched in the past slowly resurfaced. While he didn't say anything, he was quite interested in replicating those plots in reality.

"Well, I want to ask, what is magic for you?" Tsukasa asked curiously.

"Magic is a miracle," Riveria said as a matter of course.

"...." Tsukasa.

"What? Do you have a different understanding?" Riveria asked since this was what she could see from his expression.

"No, I agree magic is a miracle." If it wasn't a miracle, then what was it?

Tsukasa agreed that magic was a miracle, so he didn't bother to think too much. "It's just that I don't understand how magic can turn into something like fire, ice, or even chain in reality with magic." This was something he didn't understand since, in his mind, magic was energy, and it wasn't something that could turn into anything, right?

"Well, isn't that normal? After all, it is magic. Of course, it can do anything, right?" Riveria looked at Tsukasa with some confusion, wondering what he was confused about.

"....."

Tsukasa didn't say anything, and instantly he understood his mistake. The explanation of magic wasn't wrong since magic was a miracle. In other words, it could do anything. However, he was trapped in his mindset that he needed to work this miracle with his logic and science. In other words, he limited the potential of magic.

Magic can't be understood by logic.

It is in the realm of outside logic.

Instantly, the wall that had stopped him from learning the magic of Tiona and Lefiya was broken, and he felt everything was so clear.

Tsukasa took a deep breath and understood why he couldn't learn magic before, but after understanding his problem, he understood why he couldn't learn it.

However, Tsukasa didn't feel surprised by this since he knew it was something normal, especially in the current era where the gods and the goddess exist everywhere. Everyone was superstitious and believed in miracles. If someone was cured of sickness because of medicine, many people would say it was a blessing of the gods or goddesses. If the harvest was bountiful, it was also because of the blessing. If there was a flood, an earthquake, and many other disasters, they would say it was because of the anger of the gods or goddesses.

The people in this era didn't try to search for the cause of those problems and just said everything was because of magic, blessing, miracle, or anything else except for logic or science.

If Tsukasa wanted to sum it into a single word, he felt a "mystery" would be a suitable word to explain this phenomenon.

"Thanks, Riveria. I understand it now, so can I ask a question again?" Tsukasa thanked Riveria since if she didn't let him understand, it might take a while for him to understand everything. Still, there were many things he wanted to ask, so he didn't hesitate and asked.

"Sure." Riveria nodded with a gentle smile.

The two discussed with each other until the middle of midnight.

Their conversation was smooth, pleasant, and happy since the two understood many things after they had a conversation with each other.

Tsukasa understood many things from Riveria, whether it was magic, culture, or other things that he didn't know. However, it was normal since she had almost hit 100 years. Still, he wouldn't say something as rude as that, and according to an elf age, she should be someone in her 20 or more.

Tsukasa, though, wasn't really so sure whether it could work that way. Anyway, as long as Riveria was beautiful, he felt everything was okay.

On the other hand, Riveria also gained many things since Tsukasa's insight was unique, and somehow she could feel she could become stronger.

"Well, it's already late. I will go back first, Riveria." Tsukasa had to go to the dungeon today, and he thought to rest. While his stamina made him able to stay up without sleeping for a long time, he didn't really want to do it if he wasn't forced since it made his head a mess somehow. "By the way, can we talk again tomorrow?"

"Yes." Riveria nodded with a smile and said, "Let's meet here again."

"Okay."

"By the way, Tsukasa, what do you think of Ais?" Riveria suddenly asked.

"Ais?" Tsukasa thought for a moment and said, "I can't say much about her. After all, I don't talk with her much, so I don't know much about her. However, earlier in the morning, she greeted me, and we had decided to practice a sword together."

"That's great." Riveria was happy when she heard this news and said, "If possible, can you take care of her?"

"She isn't a baby, right? Why should I take care of her?"

"I don't mean that." Riveria shook her head and said, "She is quite different from normal girls since she has something she wants to achieve, so she spent most of her time becoming stronger. I am worried that if this continues, she might be burnt out."

"You sure worry about her," Tsukasa said.

Riveria smiled and said, "I don't have children, so I thought of her as my daughter."

"You don't have a partner?" Tsukasa asked curiously.

"No, I don't." Suddenly Riveria's mood became bad when Tsukasa asked this question. Her friend who came out with her from the Elf Forest had married and even had a big daughter. But, on the other hand, she was still single.

"The people here are blind for ignoring a beauty like you, Riveria." Tsukasa wondered whether the guys in this world couldn't enter Riveria's eyes, or they might not have the guts to court her. However, when he thought she was one of the strongest magicians in the world, he felt it was normal why a lot of people intimated her.

"What are you saying?!" Riveria was embarrassed, but then she asked, "...You think I am attractive?"

Tsukasa was stunned by this question, but he quickly answered, "Of course, I can even propose you marry here and now."

Riveria chuckled and knocked his head. "You should propose someone younger instead of me." She suddenly became gloomy when she thought about her age.

"Ugh... I was rejected." Tsukasa pretended to cry.

Riveria smiled and said, "Okay, don't joke around. Let's go back. Come on. I'll help you to put the books back so we can go back early."

"Thanks." Tsukasa looked at Riveria thoughtfully and didn't say much.

The two put the books back on the shelf, but suddenly a book was dropped on the top of Riveria.

"Watch out!"

It was sudden, so Riveria couldn't react, but Tsukasa quickly caught the book before it hit her head.

However, because of this, the distance between the two became so close.

Under the dim light of the library, the two stared at each other. It was devoid of voice, and only the sound of their breaths was heard.

Riveria blushed when she thought about how they had kissed him. She wanted to look away, pushed him, and told him to move slightly further. However, she closed her eyes as if waiting for something.

However, instead of the warm and wet lips, Riveria felt her nose being poked.

"Let's put back the books, Riveria."

Riveria opened her eyes, and her face was burnt in embarrassment. She couldn't believe what she had done, especially when she was teased by him!

Fortunately, neither of them did something that they might regret. Instead, she touched her lips, and the memory of that kiss resurfaced in her mind, thinking how wonderful it was.

Still, Tsukasa was 84 years younger than her, so Riveria felt quite ashamed for what she was thinking.

Riveria felt she should distance herself, but more importantly, she was annoyed!

'How dare this kid tease me?!' Riveria pouted, showing an annoyance while touching her nose where he had touched her before.

"Sorry, sorry." Tsukasa could only apologize and used various tricks to let her forgive him.

Hearing his apology and flattery toward her, Riveria could only sigh helplessly.

In the end, they made a promise to continue their conversation tomorrow, and Riveria said, "Okay, okay, let's talk again tomorrow."

Watching his profile from the side, Riveria could only show a helpless smile and wondered what she was thinking. She started to think whether she was too thirsty to attack someone who was younger than her.

The two continued to talk with each other as they closed the distance between them without realizing it.

As for where their relationship would lead, was there a need to ask?
