It wasn’t too much of a worry. Even though Ariadne was walking well, she collapsed, and even when she stood still, her nose would drip. She went out of the castle once before the end of the winter, and lay there sick, and the fever soared terribly. As a result, the people of the blizzard castle treated her more carefully than fragile glass.

Jaylin, the attending physician, said Ariadne was still improving. Her body was recovering from being easily tired and sick. It’s because her stamina was running out because she’s focusing on her.

<That’s why you need a priest. The lady is now in a situation where she lacks the power to heal her body. Divine power is the answer to this.>

Jaylin sang like that every day.

She was the board that the entire castle was waiting for the priest to come. It was fortunate that the priest would come sooner or later as the blizzard had stopped.

Ariadne ended up pulling a blanket over her coat, holding her hand warmer, which she had heated with her magic.

“Mr. Marquis, you know that if the lady gets cold wind, it will be a big deal, right?”

“You have to be careful.”

“It’s different from when Mister Erich was young.”

Even then, the maids continued to nag the Marquis. The Marquis smiled and nodded, then motioned for everyone to step back a bit. He was standing in order to take out the spirit water. Cold air rose around his body like a haze. The cold air flowed out, carrying snowflakes and swirling around, forming the shape of a huge leopard.

“Snowstorm.”

The Margrave held out his hand while calling the spirits. There were black patterns on the snow-white body. The spotted leopard rubbed his forehead against his hand.

This snow leopard was a spirit beast of ice and wind born from a snowstorm that blew near the castle, and it was the ‘Snowstorm’, a spirit beast that the spirit knights of the Weaver family rode for generations. Ariadne looked in amazement at the spirit beast who was charming the Marquis.

During the previous incident, she had seen the spirit number in the form of an ice bird, but at that time she was too distracted to take a good look at it. Much larger than a normal leopard, the whole body of the Spirit Beast shimmered faintly. Every time it moved, light dust flew like a fairy.

‘This is the spirit water. It will never be confused with an ordinary animal.’

The spirits of this world were divided into three levels: Spirit, Spirit Beast, Great Spirit.

The spirits were no different from nature itself. A group of life forms born randomly in nature, with no individual self or specific shape. Among such spirits, strong spirits with egos were sometimes born. They had concrete forms, and they had will and emotion. However, they lacked intellect, and were generally similar in appearance to animals. They called them spirits. And the spirits dwelling in magnificent nature, possessing not only ego and form but also intelligence, were called great spirits.

‘What I have to deal with from now on is the great spirits.’

Wizards used ordinary spirits without egos to cast spells. A spirit knight contracted with a spirit beast and treated it as if it were his own body. Elementalists did not use general spirits like magicians, nor did they contract with specific spirits like spirit knights. The Elemental Consul of this world was a person who borrowed the power of the Great Spirits by opening the passage, the ‘Channel’, between himself and many great spirits.

The more you connect with the Great Spirit, and the bigger the channel, the stronger the existence.

‘Come to think of it, there must be a great spirit over there too.’

Ariadne looked up at the distant mountains behind the blizzard castle.

The highest mountain in the world, La Rashua. That mountain was the territory and body of the Great Spirit, the ‘Perennial Snow Crown’. Usually, the names of the great spirits were derived from the territory in which they dwell. The perpetual snow crown was like a crown on the top of the mountain. It was named because of the snow that did not melt all year round.

‘If I become a Elementalist later, will that Great Spirit also access my channel?’

If she connected with the Great Spirit near the Blizzard Castle, it would be nice to check the safety of the castle. It reminded her of the moment when she couldn’t do anything while watching the morning glory wither. She wanted to become a spirit sage soon.

“Aria?”

The Margrave, riding on top of her great spirit, called out to her in a puzzled way. Ariadne stopped her thoughts and quickly approached her maternal uncle.

“Come on, let’s go.”

The Margrave, carrying her in his front seat, patted her blizzard on the nape of her neck.

Woo woo.

The huge leopard let out a low roar and started running as if it were flying.

The Spirit Beast’s cries mixed with the wind sounded like a blizzard beating against her windowpanes. Soon after, she came to a hill overlooking the road leading up to the castle. On top of the hill was a gateway and an outpost. A guard looking down from the post recognized the lord’s spirit beast and saluted him.

“Hold tight.” the Marquis whispered. At the same time, the blizzard leaped high and landed lightly on the highest roof of the post.

“They’ve already come all the way there.” said the Marquis, who looked down the road.

Ariadne’s eyes didn’t see anything yet. There was only a field of grass sparsely covered with snow. As she pulled her neck and snooped around, the Marquis laughed and added.

“It will take a little longer for you to see it.”

“Ah, yes.”

Ariadne buried herself in the bosom of her Marquis and waited, fiddling with the teddy bear-shaped hand warmer the Archmage had made for her. Not long after, a group of people shining with silver light appeared at the end of the road. They were knights in white armor riding various types of spirit beasts such as wolves, cows, foxes, and elephants. Some large spirit beasts were pulling wagons, and spirit beasts that could fly were hovering over the knights. Suddenly, a horse protruded from the lead of the knights. It was a black, huge horse. Its paws shook the earth and came at breakneck speed.

‘Wow, that’s a metal horse. It’s like a locomotive.’

A guard rang a bell as the knight on horseback approached.

“The subjugation team is back!”

The gateway was wide open. The Margrave moved the blizzard and jumped in front of his horse. The horse, which was passing through the gate without hesitation, saw it and stopped.

“I’m home… Lord.”

A young woman sitting on a metal horse greeted me slowly. She looked close to a girl’s age, but she was wearing knight’s armor.

The Margrave who was greeted by her frowned at her.

“Did you run amok again, Veronica?”

“Yes… a little.”

The knight called Veronica responded casually.

Ariadne wiggled out of the Marquis’ arms and looked at the woman.

‘Omg.’

She barely swallowed the moan that was trying to escape involuntarily. The black-eyed woman with her black hair, like her spirits, was covered in blood from the top of her head to the tips of her toes. She looked black because of her blood that had dried her white armor.

Feeling that Ariadne flinched, the maid clicked her tongue.

“Shouldn’t you have washed some blood before coming back?”

“Ah, this… I accidentally cut a monster halfway up, but it’s annoying… I want to wash in the castle…”

Veronica, who was scratching her head with her gauntleted hand, paused her motion. It’s because she belatedly discovered Ariadne, who was in the arms of the Marquis. Veronica’s sleepy, half-closed eyes widened.

“Uh, uh… Lord, what is it…? Is it alive?”

“Be careful with your words, it’s my nephew.”

“You had a nephew…?”

“I must have informed you in a letter. Didn’t you hear?”

“Ugh, it moves, wow, it’s really alive…”

Veronica, hearing the words of the Marquis, jumped from her spirit horse.

“Cute… small…”

She sighed over, fixing her eyes on Ariadne. It was like a ghost.

‘Joe, it’s kind of scary.’

As she got closer, the smell of her blood stung her nose. The Marquis, frowning, waved his arm.

“Where is it like that? Go ahead and take a bath.”

“Ah… yes.”

Veronica drooped her shoulders sullenly. In the meantime, the main unit had completely passed through the gateway. An emerald eagle in the sky came down. Before it even landed on the ground, a red-haired woman jumped from it. She was a tall middle-aged woman. She smiled as she turned toward the change bag.

“Ern, it’s been a long time! It’s been a year. How have you been doing?”

She was Celiana Quizelas, the Countess and leader of the Snow Leopard Knights.

“Sally!”

The Margrave, who jumped out leaving Ariadne in his elemental spirit, approached her. They hugged each other, kissed each other lightly, and then put their foreheads together and smiled.

“As soon as I see you, you are very ardent. Anyone who sees you will think that you are newlyweds.”

A boy in a wizard’s robe grumbled as he got off the landing eagle. The spirit knight, the owner of the emerald eagle that was carrying the two, replied with a smile.

“What are you doing when you like it?”

“What is good?”

“If parents get along well, isn’t it good for their children?”

“It shouldn’t be good enough. It’s a strange thing not to have a younger brother.”

The boy ran annoyedly through his silver hair and found Ariadne sitting in her blizzard.

“What is this little thing? Why are you riding on my father’s spirit water?”

The boy glared at her with his ferocious face. It was as if he didn’t know anything about her.

‘My uncle said he sent a letter, but it didn’t arrive?’

Before Ariadne could answer his question, Veronica, who had been standing in a daze, opened her mouth.

“Cute.”

“Is that cute?”

“Small…”

“Are all little things cute just because they are small? Does that look really cute?”

Veronica looked at Ariadne with her blank eyes and nodded her head. A boy with a frown on her glanced at Ariadne and sniffed her.

“You look ugly. It’s so skinny, it’s like a skull with big eyes.”

Veronica turned to him. She said in a slightly annoyed tone.

“You… you’re not cute.”

“Who wants to be cute?”

“That kid is cute, and you are ugly…”

“Hey! Are your eyes swollen?”

The boy was as beautiful as a statue made of snow thanks to his dazzling silver hair and delicate appearance. It was a face that could not be called ugly even with empty words.

The boy who knew his appearance well retorted with a huff.

“Where am I ugly!”

“Mind…”

“What? There is something you can’t say to your future lord!”

“When you become the lord… Let’s make it here… Bandaeng is the perfect place to go.”

Veronica, who threw a last word in a slow tone, got on her spirit horse and moved away.

“What did you say! Hey! Hey!”
