Its Just A Game

Chapter 53 - FIGHT!! or... not

Following the orc into the training yard which caused quite a bit of curious glance towards us and even some followed behind us to see what is going to happen.

Once in the training yard, there were piles of basic wooden weapons in a corner of the training yard what surprised me slightly was that I didn't pick up many swords most of the weapons were maces, hammers, polearms and greatswords tho the great swords all had a pair of boot and a kind of like backpack piece of metal. (AN. The greatswords aren't the historical great swords but more of the fantasy versions the ones with a giant heavy blade that has a blade, yes but it ain't the sharpest of weapons but relies more on its weight to do the serious damage but it still has an edge for the choppin. And it does some serious choppin.)

"I was surprised when I got a hold of your training equipment all of it is top quality and these greatswords are the most surprising of them I have not seen something like this outside of theories but never in actual effect. The only ones I have ever seen use this weapon effectively were the lizardmen with all that weight in their tails to stop them from tipin over."

"You know I was expecting to see some sword kinda surprised not to see any."

"You think us all novices, Swords are good for anyone that's not against someone in platemale or that has scales. And not everyone can afford to have their swords with inscriptions or enchantments there just downright only for the rich. Most of us will have a spare sword with us just do the facts it's a convenient weapon but by no means is it the weapon of war for most soldiers. I guess they weren't lying when they said you were a human from the homeworld. Just looking at you I don't see how you could be a human."

"Ha, This form is kind of a 1 hour ago experience. Found out a bunch of my potential allies are dead and were given their legacies to give us a chance. In all honesty, I just don't know why they weren't given to someone that I could help grow through the first stages. but hey What can I do to question that OG."

"Interesting and also a bit concerning. I guess the crusade is already starting. Well, let's get to the spar I have to see how much you can do, even if it's in a new body." The old orc moved over to The pile of training maces grabbing a large mace before grabbing a short spear only about 3 feet long then moving back in front of me swinging the maces slowly getting a feel for the maces as he moved about 8 feet in front of me.

"You gonna grab a weapon."

Looking towards the pile of training weapons. I notice most of the weapons are not in my size. Turning around I move my way to the storage area looking into. In the storage area, there was a rack for each type of weapon in different sizes but not even close enough to store all the training weapons. Moving over to a shelf full of Warhammers I grabbed one that had two giant mallet heads. Moving over to in front of the Orc he gave me a little surprised look.

"A War Hammer interesting choice. A rather big one at that It's only a foot shorter than you. Well then let's get started shall we." As he finished his sentence he bolted towards me not giving me any time to respond.

Feeling a Deep pain in my knee the orc was already behind me swing towards the back of my other knee while his spear made its self known in my hip. Gritting my teeth Jabbing the bottom of the staff of the Warhammer in the ground I made a full circle creating a cloud of dust sweeping towards him not stopping the hit be enough to cause him to back off after finishing his hit.

"Smart but not thinking ahead."

Out of the cloud of dust, the tip of his spear jetted out stabbing me in the knee before disappearing. Reappearing again but this time coming for my c.h.e.s.t. Sticking my palm where the spear was about to hit it went through my palm before being pulled back but I had a firm grasp of the spear. Closing my hand and pulling it inward Braking the top of the spear off. Pulling the Warhammer into a wide swing through the cloud. I heard a loud thud as the orc was sent out of the cloud of dust. Smiling I look over to where the orc was sent only to see an empty space. Before feeling a sharp pressure to my back.

"You have potential but not a lot of practical experience. It's my win"

Turning to look at the orc I notice he's standing on air. Noticing my gaze the orc smiles "A little trick I learned in my younger days It helps with dealing with giants. It's also how I made a name for my self as the giant slayer, it's a pain in the a.s.s to kill giants when you have to bring them to there knees before you can get any lethal hits in."

Reaching out my hand I grab the spear shoving it into my c.h.e.s.t. Getting surprised yelps from the audience and a look of confusion from the orc. "You seem to be a little mistaken, but I don't have a heart.

But still your win. I was out skilled. Even if I could tire you to death. You are a better warrior, not that surprising so as from one as old as your self."

"Now how can a humanoid being not have a heart."

"I don't even have a brain my body is just a mass of muscle. Also, I'm pretty sure I'm more of an alien being than a humanoid as I'm pretty sure the ashen and from the seems of things the ashen and the void are not that native to our universe."

"Wait did you say the void, I've heard stories and read my share of books on them. A species that only care to evolve to the strongest being possible either through information war or there initiate trait to devour and evolve slowly cutting out there weaknesses. A race that brought our universe to the brink of destruction multiple times. And from the sounds of it, I don't think the ashen are gonna be much better."

"Well if ya put it like that I sound like quite the villain, now don't I. But I promise ya this I won't ever harm the interest of what is mine."

After a few seconds of staring me in the eye, the orc breaks out into laughter. "I'll just have to hold you to that and don't go eating me in my sleep I can promise ya I don't taste that good.

Now then I'm gonna have to whip ya into the shape of a proper warrior. now for your weapon, I would recommend going with throwing Hammers or a club and sling."

"Can't say I have heard of the throwing hammers."

"I'm kinda surprised Giants love using these simple destructive weapons. There still has to be a few human giants. Well, throwing hammers are one-handed hammers designed for the giant's size. Well, I would call your one-handed throwing hammers. I would call them Fat War hammers on chains. Simply these hammers give you a medium ranged attack you can pull back to your self while increasing your destructive might in close range without causing you to have to get into weird swinging positions. Also if you get an Inscription of return put on your hammers you would be able to turn your medium ranged attacks into long ranged attacks of insane destructive power."

"I might have to get my self a pair of these hammers then. But old man why do you know so much about giants."

"To beat your enemies it is best to understand everything about them down to how much blood flows through them to how s.e.n.s.i.t.i.v.e their noses are. And you are just a small giant as giant usually tend to be from 9 feet to 15 for any of the regular giants you could go into the actual giants which are insanely rare to find and if you do your a lot better either leaving them alone or coming back with an army and some. Now then I will want you to be here every day just before sunrise to train with me for 2 hours every mourning no exceptions."

"I guess ill see you in the mourning then, won't I."

"Not just me you will be seeing your army in training as they will be here training. You all wanna see the God get his a.s.s whopped every morning don't ya." (AN. The Barracks is at the Edge of the city leaving the training yard as a giant open Field)

Soon chuckling could be heard from behind me."You bet it Old man."

Turning around what greeted me was what looked like a growing crowd of people trying to get a look at what was happening.

"I do know about ya whopping my a.s.s when I could just outlast ya. then Give ya good beating."

"Ha, you do know If I used a single skill by sides my air walking you would be in pieces where you stand not giving you a chance to tire me out. Seeing as you don't bleed I also don't see you dying with the loss of a few limbs and looking at how you don't have a single injury already from that beating I don't think any limb loss is irreversible."

Looking down towards my hand there was no sign of the spear going through it. looking down to my c.h.e.s.t there was the broken spear visibly being pushed out. Before Falling to the ground leaving not a single mark on my body.

"I guess my out of combat regeneration is quite something."

"Wait, you didn't know about your regeneration and you stabbed yourself in the c.h.e.s.t. How irresponsible could you be?"

"I took many injuries like the one to my hand in the form of knife wounds throughout my life due to similar reasons to win a fight and nothing is too much of a price for victory as long whats mine is safe."

Taking a moment to look up at me in the eyes. The orc giving the first serious glance I have seen him give as everything else he just kinda gave a half serious view at everything else.

"You know you refer to what is mine quite a lot your quite possessive. Are you willing to burn your self till you are all but a husk moving through your life just to protect what is yours."

"Like I said before I am willing to pay any price to keep what is mine safe."
