Jack Schnee [RWBY]

Chapter 8 - Rumor...

My friends and I were discussing various things going on the academy and our various grades in our classes at lunch.

Kim: Eve, I'm impressed that you manage to follow the material in Dr. Oobleck's class. He always talks too much and too fast for me.

Eve: Its nothing impressive, I just had a similar experience talking with someone like that before.

Olga: No. No. No. It is seriously impressive because if I didn't have you guys then I think I might fail his class.

Jack: Do you even study for any of your classes?

Olga: Why study when you can go out with the ladies?

Ren: That's probably why your grades suck.

Olga: What about your grades?

Nora: Fantastic.

Weiss: Does it even need saying that I'm doing exceptional.

Jaune: I'm doing much better in combat training now thanks to Jack and Pyrrha. Though that's to be expected since they're both so powerful.

Jack: I'm not that powerful.

Jaune: You say that, but you haven't lost a single 1v1 match in class since you've been here at Beacon. You've even managed to beat Pyrrha.

Jack: It was one time and Pyrrha has managed to beat me a couple of times as well.

Pyrrha: Jack is good but he's not unbeatable.

Yang: A lot of people think so, some are even calling you the Dark Phantom.

Jack: Dark Phantom?

Ruby: It's a really powerful huntsmen that showed up in the past couple of years that been able to kill powerful Grimm and is rumored to be able to able to fly. He wears all black and covers his face with bandages so the only thing you can see is his eyes that people say can suck out your soul.

Blake: I heard that he even destroyed a top-secret White Fang hideout as well.

Eve: Apparently, he's got connections because he seems to pop all over the place and they can never track down where he is going to end up next.

Kim: Track down? Is he a criminal?

Ren: Yes, he is no stranger to a variety of crimes.

Blake: Stealing, trespassing, and murder are a few of the many crimes they've committed.

Jack: There's no way I'm the Dark Phantom. If you didn't bring it up, then I wouldn't even know he existed. Besides, my semblance would be a dead giveaway to show who I am. Not to mention that I've never killed anyone.

Yang: That would be true if it was known what his semblance is, but it's unclear as to what it actually is. There are numerous reports of him using multiple abilities, so it's unclear what his power is.

Olga: Maybe it's not a man, but a woman instead.

Eve: I shouldn't be surprised that women seem to be the only thing on your mind.

Olga: You're the only one on my mind.

Eve: How many times have you lied today?

Olga: I always tell the truth.

Eve: You need professional help.

Kim: Their gender doesn't matter. What matters is why this rumor sprang up in the first place.

Jaune: You think someone's trying to give you extra attention for some reason.

Jack: For what purpose?

Olga: Don't know, don't care.

Jack: A little harsh lady-killer.

Olga: I'm sorry if I don't want to listen to people talk about useless things that serve no purpose.

Eve: Let's just finish up and head to class.

[After classes]

I was practicing my drawing skills and learning how to draw better based on the books I bought from the store. While I was busy trying to draw a horse, Eve came in and saw what I was doing. We started to talk about our hobbies. Even though I say talk it was more like Eve explaining her sowing the whole time while I was just listening. The reason Eve came into the room was to give me the headband she promised to make for me. It was mostly black with a thin white outline and a gold star in the center of it. I tried it on and looked at my reflection in a mirror. I looked pretty cool with this on. While I was trying on my headband, Eve made her way to the book called Hero's Requiem. She opened the book to the table of contents and I saw my sword Destiny start the shake the moment she opened the book. The last time it started shaking nothing happened but it makes me feel uneasy every time I can feel it shaking without warning. I told her that maybe we shouldn't open the book any further since I had a bad feeling about this. She said the famous words, "What's the worst that can happen?" and found a chapter named Dark Phantom. She opened the book the page about the Dark Phantom and a bright white light engulfed the room that we were in. The second I opened my eyes, I could tell that we weren't at Beacon Academy anymore.
