Journey Of The Wand Less Mage

Chapter 19 - Krone Mountain

After locating their whereabouts, Mirai estimated that they manage to cover one third of the distance to the Drodel Republic from the route she chose.

From the horizon of their views a long wall like mountain range can be seen, it was tall enough to cast a huge black shadow that can cover a whole city.

"So this is the Krone Mountain up close, we need to slow things down bit by bit as we get closer." Mirai conveyed using her spiritual link.

"As you ordered milady." Tyre answered.

The two thirds of the path to Drodel needs to traverse the Krone Mountain range South of the Drodel Empire.

The mountain homes different types of beasts from small goblins to monstrous orcs, the mountain range serves as the shield of the Drodel Empire from the southern regions.

From the lore of the game, Luna once hated the nasty beast that lurks around the Krone Mountain and decided to seal the whole mountain to a one way passage for beasts. Thus making it a natural defense line for Drodel.

One creature of the dark can enter but will be shut tight inside without hopes of leaving, not unless the seal of the Celestial God, Luna dissipates.

Another two hours passed by unknowingly.

A blonde young lass riding on a mighty sabertooth stood at the foot of the giant wall like mountain range.

"System, do you have the capability to inspect the seal?" Mirai ordered on her mind.

Right after a fraction of a second a monotonous voice replied.

Ding!

"Initiating inspection!"

"Inspection successful!" The monotonous voices replied and flashed a digitalized analyzation of the mountain's seal.

Name: Seal of the Wild.

Level: Unknown

Celestial Goddess, Luna's punishment for the wicked creatures of the dark!

Sweet! Mirai thought. She doubt that the system will not provide too much of a help to her as it was only a system akin back to the game.

I should not have underestimated this goddess' gift! Mirai thought before asking another question to the system. "Can a contracted beast be able to leave the seal?"

Ding!

"Soul Contract detected! Contracted soul was cleansed!" The monotonous voice of either a male or a female replied.

I guess it's a yes then! Mirai thought and ordered Tyre to drove forward. Both the master and the beast entered an invisible water like surface.

What was beyond the seal was more than what Mirai have expected.

The whole surrounding turned dark and instantly restrict her vision, the existence of the sun was cut off inside the seal.

The silence was deafening with some occasional scream and cries of a monster or a beast from a far echoed throughout the dense vegetation around.

Mirai decided to have Tyre inside the soul imprint.

It was not the beasts Mirai feared to encounter on the Krone Mountain but the Necromancers who decide to shut themselves inside this paradise of darkness or some transmutation experts whose having their experiment on this wide variety of beasts on the mountain. An expert like that would not let a white sabertooth just passed by without taking a limb or two or worse would be a head!

Lastly, Mirai decided to pick something from someone, traveling with another member would only increase that chances of them being discovered by the scouts of different factions. Traveling alone inside the vicinity of the mountain would be the best choice.

Good thing I'm no simple mage anymore, I still remember how troublesome it is to be here. Mirai though as she vanished from sight mixing with the darkness of the surroundings.

A little stop over before going to Drodel was something Mirai was willing to have.

After all every small things added to her arsenal would be of help for the battle to come.

After a day of hiding and searching, Mirai was able to found a small house made out of woods of different trees. Front of the door was a statue of a ferocious hound that seems so realistic. The hut itself was dully built but Mirai knows it was only on the surface.

Beneath the ground was a massive laboratory of a talented Transmutation Magician named Arlo.

From the game, a player discovered a hidden chain quest from an NPC named Arlo and to be reward by a very gorgeous gift, a spirit bangle!

Which instantly became a popular hit for other players, even though the soul bangle was only a mid-tier magical equipment it's sole purpose was extravagant.

Name: Spirit Bangle

Level: Epic

Made from 444 souls of monsters that provides immunity to soul bound attacks.

After that discovery, devastating soul-bound attack's popularity instantly fades.

But this time on Mirai's new world, the spirit bangle was the only bangle made for only one person.

No chain quest would be required, only killing was her way through and that's where Mirai excels, killing!

Arlo was only on the fifth level of the second rank, his spells as magician might be destructing but his actual prowess barely reach the his actual level.

The only problem Mirai found troublesome would be the different mutated species inside the laboratory as well as the Orc's Abomination which strength was the same as the level of Mirai.

Even so, the benefits from the bangle would be enough for Mirai to take the risk.

I need to camp out on this tree for a while. Mirai standing on a branch of three perfectly melded with the darkness stood.

She was observing the surroundings of the small hut trying to figure out if Arlo was inside the laboratory or out on the wild hunting.

The mini-map from the system shows a big red dot not too far beneath the small wooden hut, probably that gruesome orc, around it were different dots which sizes varies which indicate lesser strength.

"2 days! After two days without news observation I'll have my way in!"
