Chapter 1 – Don’t Listen

Tianxuan Realm, Qingzhou.

Qingzhou is one of the four major states in the Tianxuan Realm and it is vast and sprawling.

Since ancient times, this state has been rich in talent and is most famous for its abundance of sword cultivators.

Even ordinary people in the common world have a unique preference for swords. Children’s favourite toys are wooden swords, and when they grow up, wearing a long sword around their waist is the best way to decorate.

This is the great state of the sword.

The most famous clan in Qingzhou is the Sword Sect, which is located in the centre of Qingzhou.

The Sword Sect has a total of 300 affiliated sects throughout the state, and the Mo Sect is one of them.

At this moment, at Dan Qing Mountain, where the Mo Sect is located, there is a delicate young girl wearing a green shirt, carrying a girl with a round face up the mountain.

The young girl looked 16 or 17 years old, with a tall figure and long, slender legs. The waist of her green shirt is the dividing line between her upper body and her hips and legs, revealing the perfect proportions of her long legs.

The young girl’s name is Lu Dongli, her father’s surname is Lu, she was born on the winter solstice, and her mother loved pears, hence the name.1

She also has an older brother, named Lu Chaoge, whose name… there was no significance to it.

The name was created when her father, the Lord, casually opened a book, turned two pages, picked the first word on each page, and pieced together the word Chao Ge.

It was worth mentioning that the young girl wore a long sword around her waist and the waist plate of the Mo Sect on her waist, both of which highlighted her identity – she was a sword cultivator!

The little girl on Lu Dongli’s back had big, watery eyes and a fleshy face that made people want to pinch her.

A cute round face should be ravished.

The little girl looked like a well-behaved type and said to Lu Dongli in a milky voice, “Master, why don’t you take me up the mountain with you, can’t you fly?”

In the little girl’s eyes, her master was by far the most beautiful and powerful person she had ever seen in her life.

The young girl named Lu Dongli pursed her lips and smiled. Although she was childish-looking, she had a calmness beyond her peers in both her temperament and demeanour. Satisfied with the newly accepted disciple that she had picked up at the bottom of the mountain, she patiently replied.

“Xiao Qiu, this is your first time on the mountain, I would like you to become familiar with the surroundings of Dan Qing Mountain. On the way up the mountain, I will inform you of the sect rules, and some things you should take note of.”

“Master, I will listen carefully.” The little girl winked and was particularly good-natured.

Lu Dongli nodded slightly, the sunlight spilling on her delicate pink neck, and in that calm but nice voice, she recounted the rules of the sect.

After speaking, she began to introduce the Mo Sect.

“Xiao Qiu, our Mo Sect currently has seven outer disciples apart from you. They are your senior brothers and sisters.”

“Among them, six of them are my disciples, and one, on the other hand, is the Sect Leader’s disciple.”

The little girl faintly stared and said in a childish voice, “Ah! Master has more disciples than even the Sect Leader eh! Does this mean that Master is even more powerful than the Sect Leader?”

Lu Dongli raised her hand and flicked Xiao Qiu’s head, and with a serious tone said, “Be careful of what you say!”

Xiao Qiu realised that she had said something wrong and immediately shut up.

Lu Dongli moved her long and slender legs and continued to pick up the steps, introducing her, “The Sect Leader is my elder brother, and he is six years older than me. Therefore, you must respect him more than you respect me, but…”

After she said the word “but”, her face had an extremely serious expression as if what followed was extremely important, which made Xiao Qiu nervous as well.

“But, you must remember not to follow his nature in your day-to-day life!”

“Ah?” Xiao Qiu was slightly stunned, not expecting the content of what Master said to be this.

At her young age, she couldn’t help but be curious, what kind of nature did the Sect Leader have?

Seemingly seeing her own disciple’s doubts, Lu Dongli’s beautiful eyes narrowed slightly, and with an expression of helplessness, she said, “The Sect Leader’s nature, to use a word he invented himself to describe it, is…”

“Drag.” 2

“Master, what does ‘drag’ mean?” Xiao Qiu could not understand.

Lu Dongli shook her head and said, “You don’t need to understand the word, you just need to know that the way your Sect Master looks is the meaning of the word ‘drag’.”

“Okay.” Xiao Qiu replied obediently.

Lu Dongli looked up at the peak of Danqing Peak, seemingly recalling her past, and could not help but let out a long sigh.

Ever since she was young, Lu Dongli had been precocious and had a steady nature, always planning everything before making a move, and her cultivation was also one step at a time, never attempting a breakthrough without being close to 100% sure.

Steady!

Her brother, who was six years older than she was, was a completely different story.

He was so plain and yet so confident.

While he was good-looking, her brother’s cultivation and talent in many areas was really mediocre.

But under such circumstances, he had identified himself since childhood as the Chosen One, the son of qi, like a protagonist of a novel.

She had thought that her brother’s confidence was innate, until she once asked Lu Chaoge about it, only to see him raise his head, holding his nostrils, his eyes deep, looking up at the night sky at a forty-five degree angle, clearly not yet at the stage of voice change, squeezing out a not quite low voice, and saying in a serious but incomparably arrogant manner.

“Little sister, that’s because you don’t know where your brother has come from, nor do you know that your brother has long since seen through the nature of this vast Tianxuan Realm.”

Ever since then, Lu Dongli had been certain that her brother was not inherently confident, he was possessed.

He was ill.

Of course she knew where her brother had come from, hadn’t he been born from his mother’s womb, just like herself?

As for seeing through the nature of the Tianxuan Realm, even the Lord Patriarch of the Sword Sect would not dare to say such words.

But the reply she received from her brother was incomprehensible, “It’s just a game”, “I’m playing with the world”.

And her brother’s usual words and actions were… incoherent.

Three years ago, when my parents passed away, my brother cried out in grief until he fainted.

He also talked nonsense before he fainted, saying that he had lived for more than 40 years and that his parents had given him the warmth he had never had before.

He hadn’t even turned 20 at the time, so how could he have lived for 40 years? Maybe it was a slip of the tongue.

What’s even more outrageous is that after his parents’ death, his brother, though sad, apparently grew more confident!

This led him to drag even more.

A term he often hung on to was “protagonist template”.

He often says he is a protagonist template, but then doesn’t tell Lu Dongli what a protagonist template is.

And what does this have to do with the death of both our parents?

Ever since she had learned to use the word “drag”, which was her brother’s original word, a thought had been swirling around in her head.

“Why is my brother like this?”

“How does he dare…”

Her brother deepened Lu Dongli’s determination to cultivate steadily.

If she didn’t cultivate properly and then stand behind her brother, then, maybe one day, her brother would be killed.

After all, the world outside is actually very dangerous.

Lu Dongli walked slowly to the top of the mountain and then, stopped in her tracks.

Xiao Qiu was lying on her master’s back and opened her round eyes wide to look forward, only to see a man in a thin green shirt, with his hands behind his back, looking up at the sky against the cold wind.

Xiao Qiu could have sworn that if her master was the most beautiful woman she had seen so far, then the man in front of her was the most handsome man she had ever seen.

And this man’s next words made her heart skip a half beat straight away, leaving an indelible mark on her young mind.

“Had the heavens not given birth to me, Lu Chaoge, Tianxuan would have been shrouded in darkness for ten thousand years.” The man in the green shirt murmured.

A look of helplessness appeared on Lu Dongli’s stunningly beautiful face as she placed Xiao Qiu on her back, raised her hands, covered Xiao Qiu’s little ears, and, before plugging them, transmitted a voice saying.

“Don’t listen.”

Should I use Heavenly Mystic Realm, Tianxuan World, or Tianxuan Realm? Please answer in the comments.

This is the novel of a Manhua I like. Apparently, it hasn’t been translated yet so I took it! I’ll try to translate at least one chapter a week, though there might be more if I feel like it. No chapters will be released on weekends.

Edit (06/02/2022):

her mother loves pears —> her mother loved pearsWhat makes my brother be like this?” –> “Why is my brother like this?”Xiao Qiu fixes

Edit (06/08/2022): Changed some terms like in 3rd chapter.

冬 = Dong, meaning Winter
梨 = Li, meaning Pear
路冬梨 = Lu Dongli
