Killer Crown

22 Chapter 22: Manuel

I watch as her body moves. Her hips sway back and fourth, the way her breast jiggle in the maid outfit.

'Shit shit shit shit! Why am I enjoying this?!'

"Ok, enough."

She stops dancing and looks at me,

"Did-did I do good Manny?"

She puts her thumb in her mouth.

"Y-yeah. You can go change now."

She rushes back into the closet and slams the door.

'This was a horrible idea. Never. Again.'

"Are you sure she's ready?"

I nod,

"She's the best i've ever seen. She might just surpass me."

She thinks for a moment.

"Very well, she'll do her first solo mission tomorrow. Tell her the good news, won't you?"

I head out of the office and walk to Zero's room. There's a faint hum coming from her room, as if someone is singing.

I crack the door open and see that One is singing to Zero.

Her voice is quite and filled with such sadness. Zero is laying on her lap as she braids her hair.

"Aw, how precious. I don't think i've ever seen you two get along so well."

They look at me,

"What a perv, who peeps on two girls doing hair?" One says as she rolls her eyes.

"Believe it or not, I wasn't peeping. I came here because I have news for Zero,"

She sits up,

"You have your first solo mission tomorrow."

"What?"

She takes hold of One's hand,

"What about One? We always do missions together!"

One pats her hand,

"Zero, it's fine. We all have to venture off on our own eventually."

"I'm not worried about being on my own, i'm worried about our relationship."

"Ohhh, so you two are together huh? That's hot, i'd watch."

She throws a pillow at my face.

"Not like that freak!"

"I mean our friendship, One. Do you think we'll still be this close? Solo missions mean I won't see you nearly as much as i'm used to."

"I'm not going anywhere lady,"

She pats her thighs,

"Now lay back down so I can finish your hair."

Zero slowly lies down on her lap and One continues singing.

I watch as a single tear rolls down One's face. She knows that she'll never be this close to her best friend anymore.

I leave the room and go look for the woman in white. I check her office but she's not there. I run down the stairs and search in the kitchen.

"Ah, i've found you."

"Not true; I was never hiding."

"I know why you made her do this thing alone."

She sips her coffee,

"Oh do you now?"

"She's not a fucking toy. You keep on treating these kids like they're your pawns and they will come after you."

"No, their children who you've kidnapped and brainwashed! I can't believe I went with it all these years. I shoulda done this a long time ago."

"Done what, Manny?"

Her tone is cold and serious,

"It doesn't matter now. Zero will come after you, I can feel it. And when she does, she'll open up the gates of hell upon any who get in her way."

She slams her cup down on the counter,

"Pft! Don't tell me that you're spouting all this nonsense because you've fallen for the girl!"

"You're wrong. She's an ideal pupil and you will fall by her hand."

Her hand starts twitching,

"You think i'm scared of her?! You think I need her to protect me?!"

She cackles a crazed laugh.

"No,"

I shake my head,

"I know you do. Because without them fighting for you, you'd be their prey."

I make my way towards the front door,

"The harder you try to control them, the longer they'll make you suffer."

She throws the cup at me but misses and it shatters against the wall.

"I quit. Tell Zero i'll miss her."
