"Sister?" Emerald's eyes widened in fear and anger.

"Good evening, little sister!" Ruby grinned and started slashing vampire going in her way.

"Sister huh?" Lily smirked, "I'll give you some time bonding then, bye!" Then she jumped on a tree as well, and other vampires started following her, Ruby's face went serious, she shrugged it off, she suddenly cracked her fingers, then glanced at Emerald.

"So, it is you and me." Ruby grinned.

"What do you think will happen Arthur?" Alex asked, as he watched the beautiful moon glowing at its brightest.

"Survived torture, and became a vampire?" Arthur smiled, "that's is truly one extraordinary girl."

"I agree," Alex smiled, "so?"

"Well, her growth rate is really high, she might be able to stand against demons," Arthur smiled, "let's just see what she's gonna do."

Blood spilled in Ruby's body, as she rested on a tree, then on its branch, Emerald jumped in.

"How can you still survive after all this?" Emerald glanced at her, "is it because of her?"

"Let me go!" Lily struggled, her weapon seems to be far away from her, and she is badly injured, she glanced at Ruby, "Are you alright?"

Vampires started circling around Ruby, Lily can barely see Ruby's face. Ruby didn't answer to Lily, suddenly she saw a smile at her.

"Fools." Vampires around her suddenly got cut then fell down, and since she is badly injured, Ruby herself fell down as well, still she is smiling weakly.

Alex landed safely, and glanced at Ruby, "I'm telling you this," vampires holding Lily started falling down as well, "you can't even protect her, then you'll raise her?" Alex smiled, "that is unacceptable, also that is why from now on, I will be the one raising her."

Tears flowed down on Ruby's face, still she is smiling, she knew this from the start. Flashbacks of the day they made the bet went in her head, she knew from the that she will lose. She realized this happens when you're weak, as they say, you should be the one taking if you don't want others to take from you, what a harsh reality.

"Now let's deal with this." Alex carried Lily and gave it to Ruby, "go back and heal both of your wounds, okay?"

She stood up, and wiped her tears away, then she nodded, "Yes mi'lord." She started jumping from tree to tree, and left the fight.

"Wha-" Emerald gulps as she saw the aura of Alex, "wha-what are you?!"

"Simply," Alex grinned, "I am death."

"You can't be!" Emerald started running as Alex started walking towards her, "Vampires, attack him with all you can!"

"Do you want your species to go extinct?" Alex asked, he kept walking at Emerald's direction.

"No!" Emerald kept running, "I don't want to die here!"

"Of course you won't." Alex slashed the last vampire he encountered, "you won't die yet, I got a use for you."

Emerald stopped, she reached the end of the park, suddenly she smiled, she pulled out a small golden whistle, "one step, and I'm gonna blow this whistle."

"What does that whistle have to do with us?" Alex asked.

"You'll see!" As she blew the whistle, a loud eerie tone is heard everywhere the park, suddenly, thousands of Vampires appeared and started jumping from tree to tree. Glowing eyes where everywhere in front of Alex, it made him smile.

"So, that's the purpose?" Alex asked sarcastically.

"Yes."

"Then let's have a go." Alex started slashing every Vampire that jumps down the trees. As the battle intensifies, corpses pile up, blood dripped all over the place, this is just child's play for Alex. As the last Vampire was cut in half, Emerald doesn't know what to do, she blew the whistle again, more vampires appeared, this time, less.

Alex sighed, "don't you have something else in mind?"

"I have something," Emerald replied, "and it is about killing you."

Alex smiled, "that's something." He cracked his fingers and his neck, suddenly a huge door appeared behind Alex. The door got this malicious aura that Emerald's sensing, that is it.

The Gates of Hell.

The remaining Vampires started sweating in fear, so as Emerald, "why do you control the gates of hell?"

"Don't you know," Alex stepped aside, "I decide whether to go to hell or heaven, remember?"

Emerald's eyes widened as she heard those words, her fear worsens. Alex grinned, suddenly hundreds of Bone Hands started grabbing the corpses. The blood was squeezed out in every corpse there is, and formed a huge orb, consisting of blood only. Alex's eyes glowed, and the orb did so as well, he shrugged, "I guess that's all of it." The gates closed and started dusting away, no bodies are seen in the field, only the huge orb behind Alex and a hundred more Vampires.

"You really have to experience the hard way don't you?" Alex smiled, "alright."

Vampires started running towards Alex, he waved at all of them and the blood orb suddenly stabbed a vampire and s.u.c.k.e.d the blood out of it, others saw what happened and started running away and screamed for help, suddenly they followed that vampire's death, as the blood also stabbed them. All of the vampires stopped and watched the others die, they all knew they are nothing to him, then screams where heard everywhere, and one by one, Vampires fell, until Emerald is left again.

"How many liters is that?" Alex asked.

Emerald stepped back, until she reached the wall, she started crying as Alex approached her.

"Hungry?" Alex asked, he waved at her, "then go drink some." Blood fell down like flood and all went to Emerald's mouth, she started drinking every liter of it, until nothing is left.

"What did you do?" Emerald asked while still crying.

"You'll see." Alex snapped his fingers, the blood Emerald drank started acting up.

Emerald vomited blood, "help me!" Her insides started rupturing, as the blood inside her is making a move, the blood started forming like spikes, then forced its way out of her stomach, "help- me-" Emerald tried reaching Alex, all of the blood went out and formed into an orb again.

Alex chuckled, "wanna live?"

Emerald didn't answer, then she fell down to her knees, Alex approached her, "maybe not now." He smiled, the orb made spikes around her.

"Please, no-" Emerald stopped, as the spikes repeatedly stabbed her to death.

"Good night." Alex's eyes glowed, "because, you will have to sleep first." He carried Emerald's corpse and left.

As Alex reached the entrance, the door opened, "welcome back sir." Ruby grinned.

"So nice to be welcomed." Alex smiled, he stopped the moment he saw Ruby looking at Emerald, "what?"

"Uhm, nothing mi'lord." Ruby bowed, "what do you want me to do with that sir?"

"Bring her to the dungeon." Alex stated, he gave Emerald to her, then Ruby grabbed Emerald's hair and dragged her along the way, "I'm hungry." He walked his way to the kitchen, and saw Neo preparing dinner, it made him smile, he already knew what he wanted, steak.

"Wow, I'm impressed." Alex stated.

"Thank you, sir." Neo smiled and scratched his head, "gotta rest now, good night sir."

"Goodnight." Alex replied and sat down, he took his knife and started eating.

While eating, he thought of Emerald, "what will I do with her?" Alex took a bite, "maybe a slave again-" he smirked, "no no, I got like 3 already." He took a bite again, he got an Idea, "oh, maybe a puppet." He smiled, and took another bite, "perfect!" He frowned, "no, it isn't a good idea." Alex shrugged, "maybe another slave instead, that should be just fine." He smiled, "maybe, a puppet maid!" He grinned, "that is good."

After he is done eating, he went straight to his room, took the blood orb with him, and headed to the dungeon, where Emerald is. Alex reached her cell and saw her sitting down with her eyes wide open and got no emotion, pretty much dead. Alex smiled, "well, this might be the first puppet," he chuckled, "let's get going." He carried her and laid her down on a platform, then Alex opened her stomach wide open, he saw the insides, torn, broken, and bloodless. Alex put some blood, and suddenly, the blood started repairing the insides, once it's repaired, he mended the skin back together, until the bleeding stopped. He opened her mouth and blood went in like a huge worm, suddenly, Emerald's eyes blinked, and took a deep breath, she was brought back to life, Alex stepped back and smiled, Emerald looked at him, then she fell down, her hands twitched as she tried reaching him.

"Mas-" she crawled towards him, "Master?"

Alex smiled, "that's right."

As she tried standing up, she fell down, her body twitched like a broken toy, unable to move, Alex carried her and went to her new room, "you better rest."

"I-, I will, master." Emerald replied.

Alex placed her down in her bed, and her eyes closed, she is really in a bad state. Alex grinned, "a puppet with own will." Then he left.

As the night passed, the sun rises, Emerald's eyes opened and knew what to do, she dressed up, and went out, she went to Alex's room to wake him up.

She knocked at the door gently, "master."

Alex's eyes slowly opened, suddenly he heard someone saying, master.

Master? Me?

Then another knock is heard, "Master?" Emerald stated.

Yeah, she's talking about me.

Alex rise up and realized, he is being awakened, "what?"

Emerald's eyes widened as she heard a reply, "Apologies, master." Emerald bowed down, "you need to wake up."

"I know, just wake the other maids and butlers, will you?" Alex rubbed his eyes.

"Of course, Master." Emerald started walking away.

Alex sighed and laid down again, "what a typical day." He looked around and remembered about her, "oh, right." Alex stood up and prepared.

As he went out the room, he saw Emerald just standing beside the door, waiting for something, or someone.

"What are you doing?" Alex asked.

"Your orders are done sir," Emerald dusted her clothes off, "I've awaken every servants you have."

"Good." Alex smirked, "don't you remember everything?"

Flashes of memories flooded in Emerald's head, her eyes widened, she figured it out, "the blood you gave me rearranged my soul." Emerald bowed down, "since you control the blood you gave me, and it knows what you d.e.s.i.r.e, so it changed my will, and how I think, mi'lord."

"Oh." Alex shrugged, then smiled, "so, you are telling me, you are a new person huh?"

Emerald nodded, "yes mi'lord."

"Okay then." Alex wanted to lighten the atmosphere a bit, "go make some breakfast."

"Yes mi'lord." Emerald started walking away.

"Oh, by the way."

Emerald turned around, "don't you dare fight your sister here in my Manor, that's totally against my Rules."

Emerald bowed, "okay mi'lord." She turned around and left.

"Now, what do we have here today." Alex went to his study, and saw papers arranged, also, he saw Ruby standing beside his desk, probably waiting for him.

"Good morning, master." Ruby bowed down.

"Good morning, too." Alex sat down, "now, what do we have here."

"The problem rose again." Ruby rearranged the papers and showed picture of a ghoul wandering the city, "this time, they don't slaughter little girls, they now also drink from a.d.u.l.ts, and teenagers."

"Geez, we just got this fixed." Alex rubbed his temples, "where's the source?"

"From a guy aliased Zen, an Asian probably." Ruby smirked, "he saw it the night before yesterday, and he decided to take a picture, good thing he got away."

"Where is he now?" Alex asked.

"Well, no one visited him until now." Ruby replied, "no one even saw him going out."

"Wonder what happened to him." Alex closed his eyes and turn his chair around to see the window.

"We better go check him out." Ruby stated.

"Fine," Alex turned around to look at her, "maybe after breakfast, okay?"

"Okay, mi'lord." Ruby bowed down.

A perfect timing, someone knocked the door, probably Emerald, Alex smiled.

"Master?"

"Come in." Alex looked at Ruby.

"What do you want this time Emerald." Ruby's eyes narrowed.

"Nothing, dear sister." Emerald went in with a tray, she looked at Alex, "here is your Breakfast, master."

Alex smiled, "what is it?"

Emerald placed on his other table, "this is a Japanese meal, it is called omurice."

"Oh, that looks tasty." Alex smiled.

"Thank you Master." Emerald bowed.

"What are you trying to show, sister." Ruby asked, pretty frustrated.

"I am telling you, nothing." Emerald replied.

"I know you're up to something." Ruby stated.

As the verbal quarrel intensifies, Alex remained shut, he cleared his table and grabbed the meal, he started eating, then his eyes glowed.

"I won't fight unless-" Emerald's eyes widened, she sensed frustration in Alex, she turned around to face him and kneeled down, "deepest apologies, mi'lord." Emerald asked for forgiveness, "I didn't think about the words I'm gonna say, ending up quarreling with my sister, please forgive me, mi'lord!"

Alex chuckled, "it's quite alright, as long as you know the rules."

"Me too, sir." Ruby stated and bowed down.

"I told you, it's alright." Alex took a bite, "now, I'm gonna go out with Ruby later," Alex looked at Emerald, "please take care of my Manor for awhile, will you?"

"Of course, Master." Emerald stood up, "I shall leave now, see you later master." Then she bowed and left.

"Sir, what happened to her?" Ruby asked furiously.

"I don't know as well." Alex smiled, "She just told me that the blood I gave her changed her, her own will and how she thinks."

"Really?" Ruby calmed down, "I hope we can get along."

"Yes, I hope so too," Alex replied, he glanced at Ruby, she looks uneasy, "is there something wrong?"

"No sir, just-" Ruby stated.

"You can seat down if you want." Alex smiled.

"Sir." Ruby bowed down, "can you let me speak?"

Alex took a bite, he didn't answer but he nodded. Then Ruby started crying silently.

"Master, why did you take Lily from me?" Ruby asked.

"You already knew the answer, don't you?" Alex looked at her with a serious face.

"Yes, but-"

"The truth is," Alex took his last bite then smiled, "I took her from you because, she got an overwhelming strength, that if you didn't take care of her properly, she might turn against us, and I might lose my daughter, no, not just my daughter..." Alex's eyes glowed, "I might lose everyone I love, from what's left of course."

Ruby doesn't seem to understand, "Master, why do you always say like you lost someone that much?!"

Alex frowned, "yes I did." He stood up, "I lost my wife!"

Ruby stopped crying, then she looked at him, "I lost my wife, you know what's worse?!"

"Demons killed her!" Alex shouted, then Ruby backed off, "my worst enemies are the one who killed her, they have the guts to kill the last Hellcat!" Alex's eyes got teary, he didn't want to continue, he sat down, then turned around, he wiped his eyes, after some time being silent, he seemed to calm down, he turned around again to face Ruby, then he sighed, "Apologies for being rude."

Ruby felt more sad, she knew part of this is her fault, she shouldn't have brought the subject, "I'm really sorry Master."

"It's alright," Alex closed his eyes, and he looked down, he cracked his fingers, "let us move on to the next topic," he smiled, "change of plans, Emerald will be with me, and you'll guard the Manor, any problems?"

"No sir." Ruby stood up, then she turned around and will gonna leave, the moment she reached the door, she looked at Alex, the both made contact and she smiled weakly, "I'm sorry, sir." Then left.

Alex frowned, then his eyes glowed, "Traitor."

As the bell rang in Emerald's room, she quickly left. On her way, she saw Ruby going in her room, she saw her grinning, she wants to ask about it, but she knew she is being called, so she didn't mind, for now.

After rushing to the room, finally, reached it. She knocked, "Master?"

"Come in."

She opened the door gently went in, "you called for me master."

"Yes, there was a change of plans, you'll be coming with me," Alex smiled, "is there anyway you can be hidden while I'm asking information to this guy aliased Zen?"

"Yes." Emerald's eyes glowed, suddenly her whole body, and clothes turned red, even her eyes, then fell down like water and formed a viscous puddle.

"Emerald?" Alex stood up to see the puddle.

"Is this the form you wanted?" Emerald asked, half of her body formed and looked at Alex.

Alex sat down, "not really, but I guess that might work out."

"I will take it as a yes, master." Emerald replied, then the half of her body turned into blood again.

"Can you move in that form?" Alex asked.

"Yes master." Emerald replied, then the puddle started moving, it went up on the ceiling then went down again.

"What about change the color of the blood?"

"Apologies Master, but only Red and Black." Emerald stated.

"Perfect." Alex smiled.

"Now please go back to you normal form, I don't like you to stay like that for long." Alex faked a frown.

"Okay master." Emerald started transforming back, then she bowed.

"You'll act as my shadow, okay?" Alex smiled, "be sure to follow it."

"Okay, Master." Emerald replied.

"Now, get ready, we'll leave in an hour." Alex stated.

"Very well." Emerald turned around and left.

"I'm ready, Master." Emerald knocked the door gently, she have prepared everything she needs.

"That is quite fast." A faint voice was heard inside, "well, 15 minutes left, and we're leaving." The door opened wide, as a sound of a footstep were heard, Emerald can sense Alex's strong aura, when she looked at his face, he smiled gently, "please, get us a ride."

Emerald bowed down, "yes, mi'lord." She glanced at Alex, having no idea where they're heading, but left and did what she's ordered without any hint of hesitation.

15 minutes passed, and finally the ride came. As they headed out, Alex glanced at Azuria who is in her room's window, he waved goodbye, she did so too. Alex looked at the entrance of the Manor and saw Ruby, he smiled at her in an unusual way, it gave her chills in her spine, then Alex went in the ride, Emerald looked at her too, her gaze is really far from Alex's, it is blank, and emotionless. Her eyes are shiny, but empty, like her soul was gone, Emerald bowed then went in the car as well. Ruby waved goodbye as the car slowly disappears in her sight. After seconds of their disappearance, she grinned. Now it's her time to do something.

On their way, Alex is just looking at townsmen, some people met each other's eyes, others are just ignoring him. Different people with different personalities, jobs, and faces. Some are talented. Some are poor. Some, rich. And some are just pain in the a.s.s.

While on Emerald's case, she is just looking at Alex, silently waiting for orders, she looked behind Alex and saw young beggars, she sense this strange feeling, like the urge to help, but she thought of Master might be mad.

"Stop the car here." Alex opened the door, and got out, "Emerald, pay, and also," Alex looked at her, "aren't you going with me?"

Emerald's eyes widened, "Ah, yes master." She took some money and gave it to the driver, "have a good day." Emerald bowed, and left. Emerald was left thinking, she knew this isn't the place, could it be because of the children? Or maybe he needed something before continuing the travel? Lots of things that Emerald wants to know.

Suddenly, Alex approached the little girl, and pat her head, some Nobles who watched him are disgusted, but he didn't mind, Emerald smiled. Of course, Alex wouldn't leave poor children die, -He knew that each and every children got dreams on their own.- She watched, as more poor children came near Alex, and asked for money, Alex smiled, and gave every child enough money to buy food, and clothing. Some children started crying in happiness, and thanked him, Alex smiled at them, he knew that they have to go, he frowned. Emerald frowned as well, she also knew, that -Sometimes, the dreams of each and every child wants are forced to change. Either by fate, or by will.-

Alex approached Emerald, "let's continue."

"Yes, master." Emerald smiled, then followed him.

On their way to Zen's house, Emerald looked at the corner of the street, and saw Ruby, "Master, I-"

"You what." Alex stopped and looked at Emerald, he looks a bit frustrated, since he got no time to waste.

"Nothing master, I just think I saw Ruby over there." She pointed where she saw her.

"Well then, if it's what you think, maybe it's just your imagination." Alex continued walking.

"Yes, master." Emerald started walking, then looked at that corner again, she clenched her fists, and gritted her teeth, did she turn her back at us?

Fact #3

Cars are already invented in this story, obviously they are pretty much the old ones, since if we're to follow the years where cars are invented, I think it is too early, the year here is 1893, remember the date said in chapter 1?

"Now, let's go there," Alex pointed at the alley just beside Zen's house, they both went in there. Alex looked at Emerald, "well, time to turn into a shadow."

"Right." Emerald closed her eyes, then she slowly melted down into a puddle, then as Alex went out of the alley, Emerald did her best to imitate the shadow Alex has. Alex stood in front of the door of Zen's house, he took a deep breath, "time to go."

Three firm knocks were heard, "Good afternoon, is this where Zen lives?" Alex stated, still waiting for an answer.

He decided to open the door and go in, "Mr. Zen?", He didn't heard any replies, he got a bit irritated, "Apologies, but I'm coming in-"

Alex suddenly stepped on a pressure plate, then a trap activated, an arrow went to Alex super fast, fortunately Alex evaded the arrow. It was a crossbow, he looked around, and saw broken furniture, ripped sofas, broken chairs and tables. He approached the sofa, he saw something moving, an unclear shape started forming as he went closer, then he saw a person lying down, blood spilling, and being eaten by something, a ghoul.

"Geez." Alex sighed.

The ghoul turned around, then it screeched at him. "You're a loud one." Alex stated, then he ripped its head off, he closed his eyes in frustration, he rubbed his temples, "Emerald, come out now."

Emerald started turning back to its normal form, then she bowed, "yes master?"

"We wasted time here." Alex turned around, he started heading out, "clean the mess, meet me outside, I'm gonna call the police." Then he went out.

"Yes, master." Emerald, bowed then she faced the corpse, suddenly, in a blink of an eye, she grinned, "time to clean."

"There was a murder here." Alex stated at the police men, "the murderer set a trap, once I got in, it fired, good thing I blocked it." He continued, he showed a poisoned arrow, "well the killer is a cannibal, and we saw it eating the guy aliased Mr. Zen, it fought back, so we got no choice but to kill it."

"Then, sir, what are we gonna put here?" A policeman asked.

"A homicide case, and cannibalism." Alex stated.

"Okay sir." The policeman left, the others placed some police tape around the murder scene, suddenly some policemen came out the house running and screaming for help.

Alex turned around, and saw Emerald going out, l.i.c.k.i.n.g its fingers with blood. Suddenly policemen aimed at her, Alex knew this is bad, he jumped in to stop them, "Gentlemen, halt, she is my Maid." Alex put down their guns.

"Why is she l.i.c.k.i.n.g her fingers with blood on it?" A policeman asked.

"Oh that," Alex smirked, "she seems to injure herself, am I right?" Alex looked at Emerald, then their eyes met, she knew what he meant.

"Yes, sir." Emerald bowed.

"Now if you'll excuse us for awhile." Alex grabbed Emerald's hand, then they went in the alley again.

"What have you done?" Alex kept his voice down, but with an angry tone.

"Master, I'm truly sorry!" Emerald bowed, "I didn't know that they were coming in, and I also didn't know that they will be just few, please forgive me master!" Emerald pleaded.

Alex sighed, "it's fine, just don't lick your hands in front of them."

"Thank you for your mercy, I swear I won't allow it to happen again." Emerald bowed again.

"Come on now, let's go."

"Master?" Emerald waited for a reply while walking with him.

"Let's talk about it later." Alex replied while still heading out.

On the last step of their way out, they saw a chunk of someone's head falling down, a policeman. As they got out of the alley, they saw all of them, dead. Blood, everywhere, bodies scattered, as more people pass by, more attention is being caught, it happens to have a vampire nearby, l.i.c.k.i.n.g it's disgusting arm, with the policemen's blood, all over.

"Ahh, it's you, Mr. Baltazar." The vampire stated, then he looked at him, "remember me?"

Alex's eyes widened, then he smiled in anger and looked down, "yes, indeed, I do remember you,"

As he slowly glanced at him, his eyes glowed, "Mr. Dan Powell."
