Larger Than Life, Bigger Than Us

Chapter 59 - Opportunity does not knock until you make a door

Lily was again transported in a beautiful garden. This....She had been here before!!! Startled, she looked around. Everything was familiar, from the flowers to the fences, from the color of the sky to sweet spring smell. As she was realizing this was a place from her memory, the pattern on her hand started glowing and the surrounding landscape was rapidly blurrying out.

Her head also started to throb and the pain was atrocious. She felt she would not be able to endure but she gritted her teeth and clenched her fists tight. The pain of her fingernails piercing her palms brought her back. Finally her vision stabilized and she was able to recover.

A faint melody could be heard. Again, it was not her first time hearing it. Lily's heart was now thumping hard, was she finally accessing a memory from the past? But before she could make more of it , she was suddenly awoken by a noise in her room. This time she could clearly hear the steps sounds. An assassin? She didn't have any weapons near her and she didn't possess any super powers, what should she do? Calmly assessing the situation, Lily gripped her blanket firmly. She was determined to push the blanket on the assailant before they could take action against her.

She could hear the breathing coming close to her. 3. 2. 1. She opened her eyes and threw the blanket over the head of the stranger. Taking advantage of the situation, she flee quickly her bed and looked for the first thing she could used as a weapon. Her hand fell on a chair. She lifted it and hit the person with all her strength.

"Oww! Oww! Young Mistress Mercy. Please have mercy on me!!!!"

About to strike a second time, Lily realized she knew the voice, thus lowered the chair on the ground. Still, she kept her hand firmly on the char in case the intruder would become agressive while waiting for him to untangle himself from the blanket.

As soon as his face appeared, though the room was dark, with the moon light reflected in the room,

Lily recognized him right way. This was the youth that had saved her earlier on.

" YOU?!!! WHY are you in my room?"

"Shhuut young Mistress, we have to be quiet or the whole valley will be alerted..."

Just as the youth finished speaking, they both heard the foot steps of guards stopping outside the doors. Then 3 knocks.

"Is everything alright? We heard someone screams."

"Everything alright, I had a nightmare...You can all return. Nothing abnormal." Lily said anxiously.

"We will return then."

She didn't want to lie but at this point, it would be such a hassle to explain who this youth and why he was loitering in her room. Besides, she was unsure who he was since she had no memories.

They waited for the guards to leave before pursuing their conversation.

"Why are you in my room?" Lily whispered calmly.

"Now that I have found Young Mistress, I had to come back to serve you! This is my duty!"

"But I don't even know who you are..." Lily was perplexed. "Besides won't you disappear again?"

"I will but not yet...unfortunately I can't stay long here, I don't have enough power." The youth eyes were now quite sad.

"As for who I am, Young Mistress can call me Yang, like the sheep, until Young Mistress remembers"
