Larger Than Life, Bigger Than Us

Chapter 69 - A blessing in disguise

Lily took a long bath. The water that was once milky white turned out to be black after she finished. However, it seems Lily skin became radiant. Did all the dirt and toxins in her body just got expelled? It was quite unexpected, on the verge of death, she had gained such a benefit... Really the saying one must suffer to become beautiful was quite true. Lily didn't ponder for long as she was still exhausted. She dressed up and went to bed.

Upon waking up, Lily felt very different. Only when she glanced upon her self-reflection in the mirror did she understood why. She looked completely different! She looked like an upgraded version of herself. She was already as beautiful as the moonlight but now she looked more like a goddess full of splendor. Such a beauty was very troublesome! It was bound to bring her disasters!!!! Stupid master, laying death traps one after the other.

Wait a minute...if Ran became more beautiful, how did SongJae recognized her as Ran? Lily's features were a pale copy of what Ran looked like. The mystery seemed to thicken.

In any case, Ran(Lily) ran to her Master right away and forced the door of his study room without any consideration. She slammed her fist on his desk.

"Master! You must give me back my old appearance!"

"I have had heard of Master ordering disciples but never the other way around." Said one of the elder that was in the room, trying hard to dissimulate his amus.e.m.e.nt.

The atmosphere in the room cooled down by several degrees.

In her impulse, she had discarded her manners towards her Master and was indeed acting really rudely.

Her Master had yet to say a word but Lily realized she had interrupted an important meeting. What a blunder! Lily blushed in embarrassment.

"This Lord find this appearance suitable. Return, we will discuss later." The Master said calmly and categorically. There was no room for negotiation in his voice.

Lily could only turn back and walk away with what left of her dignity, her head held up high.

When the elders saw her face, they all retained their breathing for a moment. Her beauty was such it was able to render the men in the room speechless. Only the Master seemed indifferent.

To be honest, deep inside, he was quite satisfied with her new look but was so used to look like an impassible stone, his expression stayed the same.

"Who is she? Does she already have an engagement? She would be perfect for one of my grandson!" Said one of the elder preemptively. He wanted to make sure that none of the other old farts would lay a claim on her.

As the Elder of the Fox clan, he didn't need a powerful nor even a smart granddaughter-in-law, his grandsons were cunning and strong enough, but he always wanted a beautiful one. So they could give birth to adorable babies. Unfortunately, all his descendants, despite being linked to the mythical fox, turned out to be quite disappointing in terms of countenance. They weren't ugly nor beautiful just average, which was a great insult to their clan.

Somehow from his grandfather generation, beauty and charm seemed to have evaded their clan. But seeing this goddess appearing, he thought his clan might still have an opportunity to come back.

"We are in the midst of a serious problem that will affect the future of the valley and you still have the hearts to play matchmaker? Do you have no shame? " said one of the other elders.

Early this morning the Master of the Valley had sent word for them all to meet and discuss the plague afflicting the valley, they still had barely discussed it when that lass showed up and this old fart was thinking of peach blossoms for his grandsons. What a joke! The other elders were quite unsatisfied with hi and were staring him with disapproving eyes.

Being reprimanded by his peers, the elder of the Fox Clan felt a bit guilty but still proudly said.

"There is no bad or good time to take care of your descendance. One has to seize the opportunity when one sees it!"

"Shameless!" They all thought but knew it was useless to argue with him. They wouldn't win and would only end up being angered to death.
