A two meters tall figure covered in a black full plate armour slowly walked. On his helmet were two long and curved horns. A pure black taterred cloak falling from the knight's shoulders was slowly moving in the wind. The knight unsheathed his sword, covered in dimly glowing purple runes.

The dragon covered in dark smoke stood, facing the incoming knight. The dragon opened up his mouth, and a stream of bubbling magma launched out, heading at the incoming knight. However, the knight suddenly moved at an incredible speed, turning into a blur as he moved five meters in one second. Then the knight abruptly slowed down, a stream of magma missing him, creating a large splatter on the ground.

'That he isn't always moving at such speed means that there is some cost or cooldown bound with that dodge of his.'

Vesuvius tensed all of his muscles, preparing for a melee fight as he wanted to avoid a ranged fight that would cost too much of his precious mana. At the same time, he opened up his mouth again, releasing another stream of hot magma. This time the magma didn't move towards the knight but towards the ground in front of the dragon. The dragon slowly rotated his neck, creating a line of bubbling hot magma in front of him.

The dark knight halted his steps, runes on his sword flared brighter than before, and pure white frosty mist surrounded his sword.

For a few moments, both of them just kept looking at each other, watching each other's movements.

Then the dark knight stabbed his long sword to the ground and cold energy spread through the surrounding soil, creating a path of white frost. Frost soon reached lava, and loud hissing noise echoed through the barren plains. The knight kept his sword stabbed into the ground, spreading more and more of the frost power. Bubbling orange lava slowly started to cool down, forming a layer of black stone.

The dragon didn't just wait. He launched himself at the knight while the other was trying to cool down lava. His massive body crossed the lava, splashing it all around him. He stepped on the frosty ground, his legs briefly freezing to the ground only to unfreeze and a moment later from the heat radiating out of his body. Each of his steps was getting harder and harder as he kept getting closer to the knight, making the frost energy around more and more intense.

The knight swiftly pulled his sword out of the frozen soil, white frost coiling around its blade. The dragon's claws ignited in bright flames. He swung his front leg with claws at the knight. Suddenly the knight's eyes flared up in bright ethereally blue flames through the visor in his helmet. The air around the knight immediately turned chilly, snowflakes appearing out of nowhere.

The knight swung his sword at the incoming claws.

,m "Bang! Ding!" the claws and the sword collided with a great force creating a small shockwave. The knight got pushed half a meter backwards. However, he still managed to stop the massive claws. Frost and fire met each other in a storm of snowflakes and sparks, suppressing each other's powers as they were each other exact opposite. Neither of them could overpower the other one.

Suddenly the dark knight flickered again. He broke out of the stance and moved at incredible speed, flanking the dragon from the left. He widely swung his sword at the dragon's side armour. Sword cut the black volcanic stone, creating a deep and wide gash, almost reaching the scales under it. The dragon coiled around his tail, swinging it at the knight. The knight was stuck in place as he was pulling his sword out of the dragon's armour. The massive tail covered in black armour and sharp protrusion hit the knight, sending him flying several meters, creating a space between them.

The knight elegantly landed on his legs, his amour having a huge dent on its chest. His chest cage would most likely be crushed if he was a living human. However, as an undead, he was not impeded by such injury.

The dragon, not giving the knight any time for respite, opened up his mouth and fired a thick stream of magma at the knight. The knight immediately moved his sword, covered in frost element, towards the incoming lava.

The stream of lava hit the blade, splitting at its sharp edge, flowing by both sides of the knight. Droplets of lava were flying through the air, occasionally hitting the knight, melting small spots on his armour. The knight's sword was slowly turning red from the heat. Frost element energy surged through its blade, trying to cool it down.

Vesuvius ran out of breath, stopping his onslaught, revealing a scene of destruction. Two long lines of bubbling lava were on both sides of the knight.

However, even though the knight survived, Vesuvius still grinned, 'Ahh, I can probably see now how to defeat you.'

Knight didn't wait for even a second, launching himself straight at the dragon. His sword had already cooled down to its original dark colour. He reached the dragon and swung his sword. The dragon immediately counterattacked, swinging his claws and parrying the sword. Their collision released a small explosion of snowflakes and sparks.

The knight backstepped to create space for another attack. However, the dragon pressed on by jumping forward and swinging his claws again. The knight once again swung his sword blocking the dragon's claws.

Such exchange went on for a while as they fought in a melee fight, parrying and blocking each other attacks, unleashing elemental explosions with each of their attacks.

Suddenly the knight flickered again, and the dragon braced for an impact. The knight once again appeared at his side, his sword striking the exact same spot as before. The dragon already moved to the opposite side, reducing the strength of the strike. His blade reached the dragon's scales scarring their shiny surface. The frost element passed through them, chilling flesh and fat under them.

Already expecting that the Vesuvius suppressed the uncomfortable chilling feeling on his side and swung his tail, launching the knight into the air. He once again landed on his legs, quickly stabilizing his footing.

The dragon predicted all of it and opened his mouth. The knight once again prepared his sword to deflect the stream of magma.

However, a square-shaped magical diagram quickly flared up in the dragon's mouth, and a thin ray of magma flew out. The knight couldn't react in time to the unexpected situation by repositioning his blade. The thin ray of magma flew forwards, blasting a hole in the knight's visor.

The knight's body fell to the ground, the chilly aura around him vanishing instantly. Suddenly small black crystal appeared in front of the knight's corpse.
