Seconds felt like hours.

Minutes felt like days as I ran.

I ran with multiple thoughts all rushing into my head, some statements, others, questions to somebody, myself or another.

"What happened? Why do I smell blood? They were supposed to be safe. I thought they would be safe. Have they died? I didn't want them to die. I had no plans to kill them. Why did they die?"

Soon I reached the store, and my legs slowed down. I stared at the scene. The windows were shattered. The cause of this was a metallic object.

[System advice- Cash register]

"Shut up," I growled. This was all this thing fault. I should have known anything from the lab was evil. I shouldn't have trusted it.

[...]

Entering the store, blood and dust clouded everything. Hindering both my sense of smell and sight. I could even taste the blood. That was how thick the air was with it.

"They must have died, some zombie must have killed them all." I thought.

[Scanning... four humans found...]

They were all alive. Wait no, four. "Where?" I angrily spat out.

[Check before asking]

I frowned. Closing my eyes and disabling my sense of smell, I focused on my hearing. Soon I could hear breathing, faint but heavy breathing.

One and two, these two were behind the second shelves, They were breathing so quietly that I wouldn't have been able to hear them If I was not focused solely on my hearing.

Three and four, these ones stayed behind the desk, where the cash register had previously been.

"Please come out," I could believe the desperation that came out of my own voice. How attached had I become to these humans?

"What?" I opened my eyes, but I still could see anything. However, I knew the voice. It was Marvin. I closed my eyes again, the dust was irritating them.

"Miss Onyx, is that you?" I heard footsteps and the breaking of glass. A hand touched my shoulder, and I opened my eyes. I could barely make out the figures aside from Marvin. "Miss Onyx are you ok? You're crying."

Crying? Is this what crying means? I touched the water running down my cheek.

"Miss Onyx? Onyx? Are you listening?" Marvin's hand was still on my shoulder. I wanted to rip it off of my shoulder.

"O-Onyx?" It was a gentle whisper, but I knew the voice. Qihn, he was still alive. I tried to clean the water, but it kept on coming.

[System advice- Tears]

"Shut up," I thought. Removing my power from my ears, I could smell again. The aroma of lavender, honey, and blood warped around me.

"Its ok child, we're still here," A soft voice spoke. It was Peyton's voice. Taking a deep breath, I wiped the last of my tears and looked at the figures again. The dust in the store had cleared up to reveal, Peyton, Derek, Marvin, and Onyx standing before me.

"Miss Onyx…"Marvin said but was interpreted by Derek.

"I never thought I would see a high-level esper cry," Derek spoke. "I mean, I've never met a high-level esper but from what I've heard of them. They don't cry. I guess no matter what, whether you a crazy devil or not, if your kid you're still going to cry." He said while patting my head. I wanted to break his arms too.

"Derek stop," Marvin removed Derek's hand. He seemed to fell my annoyance. "Miss Onyx, you must have been worried."

"What happened?" I whispered, my voice was parched.

"Destiny," Peyton responded. "She failed to digest the energy gem you gave her."

"Energy gem!" Marvin's eyes widened. "I thought she was just bitten. Did she swallow it?"

"Yeah and I did too," Peyton said. Marvin and Derek backed up, while Qihn stared. "I'm won't turn, energy gem don't turn those like me." Both Marvin and Derek looked at her wondering where she got this confidence. "Before I entered Finn's crew, I was an esper but I got crippled. Energy gems can't turn cripples into zombies."" I noticed that Qihn's body trembled at the sentence. In addition, his eyes widened so much while looking at Peyton, I thought they would fall out.

"Crippled?" I thought.

"Anyways I don't think we should be sharing anything until we really get to know each other." Peyton smiled before stepping away. "Isn't that right Onyx?" But she glanced warily at Qihn.

Qihn slowly nodded.

"Then let me get the supplies from the store," Peyton said entering back into the store, her eyes still trailed on Qihn. Derek moved to me.

"Is what she said true?" Derek whispered into my ear. "You gave Peyton and Destiny an energy gem."

I nodded. "Give me some too. I'll eat one right now." Derek said.

"DEREK!" Marvin yelled. "You are not going to eat an energy gem! Do you know how hard it is to get an energy gem? Also, do you want to turn like Destiny?" I frowned, I didn't want Derek turning into those smelly things. I somewhat cared for him more than I did for Destiny.

"You aren't going to turn like Destiny. I'll make sure." I spoke. Marvin looked at me with shock, his eyes searching mine for an explanation. Derek looked pleased with my statement.

I looked behind Derek at the male who's head was down. "Qihn come here." Qihn walked over. I could see Derek's and Marvin's eyes trembled when Qihn walked past them. He smelled the most like blood.

"Did you kill her?" I asked. Qihn's eyes dropped down, that gave me my answer. "Good job, you're not weak." I closed my eyes and let myself fall onto Qihn's c.h.e.s.t. The mix of blood and honey wasn't that bad.

"Miss Onyx!" I could hear Marvin yell.

"Keep quiet, She's just tired." I could hear Qihn command.

"He didn't stutter," I thought before, I let myself float into sleep.
