Legendary Shadow

The next day, the finals had finally started. There were fireworks everywhere and everybody was celebrating the battle finally coming to an end. They couldn't wait to see the last battle and were expecting a great battle, but a lot of them knew that Liam was still undefeated, and Ash had quite the challenge ahead of him. Professor Oak and the gang could be seen having breakfast as they were talking about how the match would go.

Liam and Ash were located in a different location as they were focusing on the upcoming battle. Liam was just meditating while Ash was thinking of a battle plan. He knew that Liam would bring out Dragonite first so he had to think of Dragonite's weakness and a way to counter. The night before, Ash barely got any sleep due to Team Rocket disturbing him and Janine also bothering him, so he was having a hard time focusing.

Ash had taken an energy drink that morning and was good to go. Pikachu was also by his side cheering him up. Janine was also helping him figure out a battle plan. She had told him that dragons have a weakness, which was against other dragons and ice type moves which Ash was grateful for. He knew that his Blastoise could use Ice Beam, so he could probably use him first.

The battle was about to start as the stadium got filled little by little until it was jam-packed and all the tickets were sold out. They had to set up other places for people to watch. Due to it being overcrowded in the stadium, they had several people come in to perform for them. Even Misty's sisters had come to perform which got the crowd all riled up and other performance such as jugglers and dancers had come as well.

This was definitely the last day because the entertainment had gone on for quite a while until the announcer announced that the trainers had arrived. He then introduced each one of them. "Ash Ketchum is a boy from Pallet Town with a big dream and Liam also from Pallet Town as Ash's rival and the dragon tamer." Liam found this funny because he was definitely not a dragon tamer but due to him having multiple dragon types, everybody thought that he was a dragon tamer.

Liam was hoping that Ash would be able to defeat Dragonite because Dragonite had leveled up again to level 80 and he knew that a few of Ash's Pokémon reached that level. The match started as Ash was staring at Liam. Ash smiled and told Liam that he should give him a good battle. Liam grinned as he said "likewise". The first battle was on the way as Ash summoned Blastoise while Liam summoned Dragonite.

Ash knew this would happen and immediately asked Blastoise to start freezing the whole ground. Dragonite immediately jumped up and flew in the air as the whole place was getting frozen. Dragonite was weakened a little bit from the ice but not by much. Immediately Dragonite used Flamethrower and melted all the ice. While this was happening Blastoise had also taken damage from the Flamethrower due to being at a lower level than Dragonite.

This caused Blastoise a little damage, Ash was not happy about this as he thought that he would definitely have the advantage. Ash soon asked Blastoise to quickly use hydro pump and blast into the fire trying to hit Dragonite. While he was at it, Dragonite quickly dodged and used Thunderbolt shocking Blastoise until he was on his knees. Blastoise was barely hanging on.

Now Ash was surprised that Dragonite used that move. He thought about it but then remembered that he knew electric moves too, Ash thought that this Dragonite was definitely an overpowered Pokémon and seemed to not have any weaknesses. But he got over it quick and told him to get in the shell and start spinning using Rapid Spin while using Ice Beam at the same time.

Dragonite could only shake his head as he used Dragonbreath to hit Blastoise back down onto the ground causing him to be paralyzed. Then he grabbed Blastoise and used Seismic Toss smashing Blastoise back into the ground and then finishing him off with a Thunderbolt. This caused Blastoise to faint. The crowd cheered on as Dragonite didn't even get hit in this match.

Ash decided to take this match more seriously as he sent out Pikachu his strongest Pokémon. Liam smiled as he knew that was the right choice. Pikachu facing the high-leveled Pokémon wanted a good match from him. They both used Thunderbolt starting off the match as it caused a huge explosion. Pikachu used quick attack and hit Dragonite square in the chin knocking him out of the sky and into the ground. Pikachu came down using iron tail and smashed it right into his stomach causing great damage to Dragonite.

The crowd went wild after seeing this combo. Pikachu who was still standing on Dragonite and unleash a powerful thunderbolt while Dragonite was trying to get up, but the power that Pikachu unleashed didn't do anything to Dragonite because Dragonite has sneakily stuck his tail in the ground to make him immune to the electric moves, sending the current straight into the ground.

Ash was surprised by this and just when Pikachu was about to use a Mega Punch, Dragonite used his tail to trip him and interrupt his attack. Then he knocked Pikachu off him and flew back in the air. Dragonite was mad that he had taken so much damage and decided to teach this Pikachu a lesson. Dragonite charged up and was about to use one of his most powerful moves, Dragon Rush. Ash saw this and decided to also use Pikachu's most powerful electric move, Volt Tackle.

They both took some time to charge up their energies and then started their attack. As they moved in charging towards each other screaming out loud, they collided into each other causing a huge explosion. When the dust settled down, they were both knocked out and fainted. Liam was surprised that Dragonite had fainted and Ash was also surprised that Pikachu had fainted as well. They both looked at each other and started laughing. Ash was proud that he was able to finally defeat the undefeated Dragonite while Liam also had a new found respect for Ash.
