Level Is Everything

When Ryou is going out of the village to finish the quest, Luna on the other hand is sitting at the village's square while looking at the sky.

「I wonder if this is alright. 」

Luna remembered the day when she first logged in to the game, when she heard the system notification in her mind.

「Please choose your class. If you decide to not choose any class, you can take a class later by heading to the profession teacher or by triggering hidden class quest. 」

"What does the class do?"

「The class will determine your character ability. 」

"My character ability?"

Luna is thinking for a while before she spoke.

"Is there an ability to make my character the luckiest one?"

As Luna asked that, she is having a bitter sweet smile on her face. She remembered her life up to this point and it was replying in her mind like some kind of a movie.

The reason why she asked if it was possible to make her character the luckiest one is because her life has been the unluckiest for her.

Luna is a normal girl that live with a harmonious family, but when she was five years old she fainted for no reason. She was brought to the hospital and they did a full examination on her. The doctor said that she suffered a sickness similar to X-Linked Spinal and Bulbar Muscular Atrophy. When she is seven years old, she is unable to use her left hand anymore. When she is eight, her left foot can't be used to walk. When she is nine, she is unable to walk anymore. When she is ten she can't move any of her limbs. Although the doctor said that it won't be extreme, but the reality said otherwise. Right now, she can't move her body and needed extra care from the nurses just to take care of daily routine. Her speaking ability is starting to deteriorate too.

Many times in her life she asked God, why do I have to suffer this? Why am I so unlucky? Why don't you just take my life and be done with it?

However, every time she saw her parents coming to visit her in the hospital, she gained another strength to hold on to her life. The tears on her mother eyes, what will happen to her if Luna died? She might fall into depression and follow her to the afterlife.

Playing the game of Aaru is the last resort. Since the problem seemed to be coming for her motor neurons, the doctor hope from playing the game, her motor neurons can be stimulated.

That is also why Luna seemed to doze off and become an air head sometimes. Her brain takes more time to process things so most of the time, she feels like it will better if she does thing without much thinking.

「Replying to the player's question, there's no absolute skill to make a character to be lucky. Player can raise the chance by increasing the character's luck attribute by status point. 」

"So, is there a character than I can play relying on luck attribute alone?"

Luna waited for a while before a notification ring inside her mind.

「Congratulations player for unlocking the class jester. Your character class has been set as jester. You have gained the skill "fortune in misfortune". Your attributes system has been distributed to luck. Your character attribute will be automatically allocated to luck every time your character leveled up. Wishing the player to be the luckiest player in the world of Aaru. 」

Since then, Luna decided to do things freely in the world of Aaru. She also started to smile seeing how wonderful the world is. After all she has been stuck on the bed from five years old. All of the experience in the game is a new adventure for her.

Because of her skill, she will die if she goes out to the field, the dungeon she enters will have impossible difficulty setting, but it didn't drag her down.

After all, this game is her only opportunity. She can't move normally in the real world but she can do all of that here. Many people called her as the cursed clown but she pays them no attention. There's no telling how long is she able to play the game, she won't waste them on unnecessary thing. The game Aaru have so much to offer for her and she is going to experience all of them. She hopes that she can tell her parents that she is doing fine inside the game and made them happy.

Battling monster is scary but it was something she need to face if she wants to explore the world of Aaru further. It was good that she finally finds someone that is willing to make a party with her. One step at a time, she has a resolution that she also wants to level up further and become strong.

「But, what if he decided to leave me here alone? After all I am just being bothersome and unreasonable. Even now I am leaving him to do the quest while I am waiting here. It's fine… Even if he leave me, I will find another way to level up and explore more of the world Aaru. After all, I am used to be alone. 」

Luna didn't realize that Ryou was already there sitting not far from her. His attention is directed towards her expression. She was smiling at one point, then show a pained expression. She showed some determination but then returned to her dazed look. Until at one point, she is smiling and that send Ryou stunned.

It was by far the most beautiful smile that Ryou have seen nor it was the brightest one. However, the smile captivated Ryou even though she is covered in the weird jester class make up. Her smile is sincere and it was as if she is bearing a lot of burden to the point she feels no burden at all. Like the old good times saying, 'Que será, será'; whatever will be, will be.

Finally, Luna comes out from her airheaded state and she realized that Ryou is sitting beside her.

"Ah, you've come back. Did you die earlier and just been respawned?"

「Tch, this girl. She leaves everything to me and she hoped that I died in the process. She is asking as if this have nothing to do with her either. What a worry free girl. 」

Ryou stand up and gives her a flick on her forehead.

"Why are you cursing me to die?"

After he said that, Ryou turn his body and leave. After a few step, he looked back and found Luna still sitting there in daze.

"What? Aren't you coming?"

"Eh, coming where?"

"To the village's chief hut."

After answering her, Ryou headed towards the village's chief hut. Luna take some time to process his reply before she finally realized that Ryou have finished the quest.

"Eh, wait for me!"

In the distance however a figure has watched the whole scene.

"How dare you! After all, that you've done to me, now you're flirting with a girl here. I will make sure that you will suffer what I've experience by tenfold."

It was Sakura. While gritting her teeth and clenching her hand, she is contacting someone using the game system.
