Life After Death

Alyx finished the procedures to enter the virtual world, Paradise. The Process was not that difficult for an Aon as all their information is already recorded. Although Alyx does not know this but Aons are strictly monitored and tracked due to a few major incidents which happened in the past. This information is not available to the low level Aons.

Alyx was very excited as it is a dream of anyone who reads a sci-fi novels to experience a full immersion virtual world. When Ax saw his excitement he can only criticize him that he was acting like a child, to which Alyx replied boldly by sticking a heroic pose and saying, "Virtual world is a man's romance."

Although at first Alyx did not show much interest in 'Virtual world' as his mood was in the dumps due to the sudden change of becoming an Aon. But as time passed he stopped brooding and though he still wanted to improve his strength and increase his rank, he decided to enjoy this new life to its fullest. He understood that the adaptation period is going to be dull and he can't achieve much in that period.

Virtual world has such an attraction to many due to the instant gratification that it offers as there is a tangible benefit for all the hard work put in by someone unlike the real world where one can only rely on their gut that something is beneficial to them.

Life of Aons can also be considered as unique as the system followed by them also provides instant gratification in all aspects like strength, power…etc.

"Ha-ha, finally the most anticipated moment for any human back on Earth is going to be witnessed by me." Alyx after opening an account in paradise said excitedly.

He wants to enter paradise and see for himself how great it is, but once he enters the Virtual Universe he realizes that he can't feel his real body anymore and was unable to contact Ax. Although Alyx can now multitask but he is still unable to divide his consciousness and be both inside Paradise and at MBN the same time. Therefore he must find a safe place before entering Virtual Universe.

Alyx immediately became flustered and aborted the procedure as it reminded him of that nightmare. When he was able to feel his body again only then he relaxed.

"Ax why was I unable to contact you?"

*I'm considered as a separate entity and therefore not allowed to enter the paradise along with you. Don't worry you can still launch me as a personal assistant AI inside.*

Alyx was at first sad because he considered Ax being with him as the norm and was even reluctant to part with him in the Virtual Universe. But hearing the later part he found some solace. He once again entered the Paradise.

"Connecting to Paradise" a gloomy and deep sound reverberated in the mind of Alyx after some time and his consciousness was a piece of Darkness for a moment before he regained it.

Alyx after entering Paradise was inside a huge room. He learned a bit about Paradise before coming here after the earlier incident and knew that this was his personal space and nobody can enter it without his permission.

Since he is on MBN this personal space of his in Paradise is going to be located on MBN.

After completing the procedure to bring in Ax, Alyx left the room and went outside. Walking out of the building this is the first time Alyx stepped into any kind of city after becoming an Aon.

This is a futuristic looking city which you only see in some kind of sci-fi movie but it is also slightly strange to look at for Alyx as the structure of many of the buildings is unique and completely different from the ones seen on Earth. On the street there are no vehicles, only pedestrians and the passer-by on the street have strange appearance. Their height and race are varied, but they are conversing with each other and even buying various items from the shops around, moreover on everyone's shoulder there are small creatures of different types levitating.

In the stream of people on the street Alyx stood out like a sore thumb as they never saw a human before but no one approached to talk with him as this is common occurrence as there are many bizarre looking creatures in the universe. Looking at his dazed state they understood that he was a first timer and should be from some small planet. Alyx was wearing the simple default clothes of Paradise and on his shoulder floated a fist sized Ax who also resembled a human.

Since Ax had access to Alyx memories of Earth he is also creating his personality and identity based on it.

"This is this the Virtual Universe? Paradise?"

Alyx stood on the street and looked at the stream of people on street somewhat stunned. It brought back his memories of Earth's busy cities.

*That is obvious.* Ax sound resounded, *We are now in the Virtual Universe, Paradise.More precisely we are on the MBN.*

"MBN?" Alyx blinks the eye.

*Everyone in the MBN's area of influence, when they enter Paradise, will appear on the Paradise version of MBN.* Ax explained, *Although it is still called MBN here, but the size is much bigger than the one in the Aon universe.*

"So, since the nearby galaxies around any station of Aons have many intelligent lifeforms, they all enter the virtual version of that station when they enter Paradise instead of their own planet. Therefore the area of Aons station in paradise is much bigger than the realistic version in the Aon universe to accommodate the large volume of users." Alyx exclaims.

*Right and anyone who enters the Virtual Universe has a Virtual Assistant.* as Ax said that he pointed at the floating creatures on the shoulders of passersby.

*These Virtual Assistant's intelligence degree depends on the user. As higher levels of AI are costly to maintain and run most only have low level ones. It depends on the hardware used by the person and as an Aon usually you don't need them but you have me. Low level AI's can't do much and can only follow the orders. They cannot ponder and will only make a simple reply. These assistants are there to help the users navigate this vast world and assist them in Paradise. As long as they have the permission, it will do it.* Ax explained.
