Life Restart

Chapter 11 - Extra: Marie POV

I worked as a maid in the Bynsteel family for nearly 5 years. When I first arrived, I was greeted by the masters of the house, Lord Alistair Bynsteel and Lady Seraphina. From first sight, they were the most beautiful couple I've ever seen.

Lady Seraphina had common auburn brown hair but a beautiful face that would make people mistake her as a descended goddess of beauty while Lord Alistair, had dazzling blond hair and a very handsome face despite being on his mid 30s, He undoubtedly broke many girls hearts when he was younger.

The Bynsteels were the ideal look of a noble family. The looks and status they have makes them the shining example of nobility.

On my first day when I dropped a teacup full of tea on myself, Lady Seraphina didn't get angry for wasting her tea, but worried I might of suffered some burns from the scald, she even offered to help apply medicine on my wounds. Throughout my entire life I have never seen a person as selfless as Lady Seraphina. She was an out of norm lady.

'Why would the master be this kind to the servant?' is what went through my mind as days passed. If this was how they acted all the time, I would love to dedicate my everything to the Bynsteels. I felt if it's this couple, I wouldn't mind being their maid forever.

The other servants also shared my sentiments. They swore their fealty to house Bynsteel not because of their rank as a duke, but because of the kindness they experienced in working for Lord Alistair, and Lady Seraphina. No other noble household would treat servants as a family member.

When I heard the lord and lady had a daughter a few years younger than me, My first thought was how angelic this person must be. My thought process was that the child of two angels would be undoubtedly an angel herself or even a goddess, but I soon retracted that statement.

The daughter named Letisha Bynsteel was spoiled rotten by the kindness of her parents which was understandable, I mean if you were treated as a queen you're entire life, you would think people being below you were insignificant.

Despite being spoiled, I didn't think she was a bad person, but still she wasn't a good person either.

The young miss just couldn't express herself properly, and the fact that outsiders thought lowly of her because of her spoiled entitled nature didn't help. She was a kid who hated the world that hated her. I tried to act as passive as possible when confronting Letisha sama. Usually I would take any insults and threats to help quell her anger. This may not have been the right choice of actions now that I look back on it.

At the time of the young miss's accident, many servants were skeptical of worrying about her, but that never stopped them from visiting her for the lord and lady's sake. We all wished that one day the daughter of the masters could become a kind person like her parents as well.

When news of the young miss's amnesia spread around, noone was sure if she would be kinder or stay the same.

The day after her accident, I was assigned to be the young miss's personal maid by the lord and lady, most likely because I was one of the maids that were closest in age to her. To be honest, I was scared of her, she sputtered verbal abuse towards the servants on many occasions, but surprisingly in those times she refrained from physical abuse, though that can be attributed to being too sheltered, it was a bright trait in her dark character. As I was going to wake her up, I chose to be extremely cautious not to offend her.

"Young miss please wake up" I whispered, trying to wake her up in a gentle way in fear of getting punished.

Still not awake? I think I should try again.

"Young miss please wake up" I whisper a little louder

"Huh?"

Oh no! Did I do wake her up to harshly? She looks annoyed. She's looking my way, Oh no, Oh no, Oh no. I'm definitely going to get punished, I'm gonna miss the mansion, the lord, and of course Lady Sera-

"Why are you shivering?"

"Eeeeeep" I'm so useless, as a maid I should hold the noblest posture but here I am being shameful in the young miss's presence!

"I"M SORRY! I"M SORRY!" I bowed repetitively, If she is at her angriest, she may give a severe punishment worse than death. I need to avoid that at all cost.

"No it's fine you did nothing wrong, please please stop bowing"

Eh?.... Am I hearing illusions? Did Letisha sama just say those words? It can't be, Right? Is she giving me false hope to make me suffer more?

"You won't fire me?" She's probably going to fire me on the spot. Letisha sama is ruthless towards those who annoy her afterall. If I had dropped tea in front of her, I would have to pay double the price of the tea that spilled.

"Fire you? Why would I? You were only waking me up, when I was oversleeping"

SHE'S SMILING! She has got to be an impostor, but the lord and lady has been keeping an eye on her since the accident.... Is this really the same young miss that would call maids stupid, insult the chef's cooking, and ignore her parents requests?

No No that's impossible or is it?

"Are you really the young miss?" I have to be absolutely sure.

"Yes"

...

It is really her

'I must be having a dream, there's no way our young mistress would show a smile'

Wait, come to think of it, the doctor did say the miss has amnesia. , 'I guess she did lose her memories'

Wait now's not the time for that, the lord and lady told me to get Letisha sama to the dining room for breakfast

"Oh! Letisha sama, Master and Mistress are currently waiting for you at the dining hall for breakfast"

"Oh, breakfast, Right I'll be right there"
