Chapter 17 - Preparation

(A/N sorry accidentally deleted this chapter earlier)

My mother left the dinner table depressed that night.

She had always wanted to dress her beautiful daughter in cute dresses and other accessories, just like any other mother, but that just couldn't happen.

In the past, Seraphina had little hope in choosing her daughter's attire because of her daughter's overbearing attitude.

The previous Letisha never cared for anything else but her own opinions, every time Seraphina tried to recommend a nice dress, Letisha turned her down, or even ignored her completely leaving Seraphina to feel depressed, but not as sad as she is currently.

God gave her a second chance

Her daughter, has now forgotten everything that caused her spoiled nature, she has become as pure as she was when she was born...kind of

She's isn't the same daughter who complains about not receiving enough allowance, nor the same daughter who uses cosmetics all over her face.

She has become someone completely different, someone who her parents can now have a relationship with, at least one that is much more positive than before.

Her daughter has become more charming as a person.

She has not once complained about money, choosing to be more frugal, saving her allowance within a jewelry box.

Her personality took a drastic change when interacting with servants, showing them courtesy one would give for other nobles.

Everything was in the right position for Seraphina's dress up plans

But sadly fate has other plans for her dress ups...

The academy that her daughter will be attending doesn't need any dresses, just a monotone uniform. What's fun about that?

The false hope given by god reignited her d.e.s.i.r.e, but the moment her arrangement was broken, her strong d.e.s.i.r.e converted to an even stronger depression.

Inwardly Letisha thought 'I can't really understand her obsession towards dressing me up...'

-----

The span of two months unexpectedly passed by quickly while I lived in the manor.

I never did much during this time, only choosing to practice with sword swinging in the backyard

During my training though, I encountered annoying challenges, not with the training itself, but with the nuisance called 'Father'

Father, being the doting parent he is, paid attentively to me during his free time. and unfortunate for me, the first thing he saw when he spied on me is me accidentally cutting my finger with the sword...

The first course of action he took was inspecting my finger, despite the wound only being as big as my fingernail.

You could see the change of his expression from that of a worrywart to blatant fear as he saw one drip of blood seeping through my small cut about to fall off my finger.

Father immediately ran to get the most expensive herbs within the manor, bandages, and even holy water. All these items that would probably all together equal the average commoner family's income for a year, were brought out for my single cut.

I tried to talk some reasoning to my irrational father, but the words wouldn't come out as he stuffed a herb in my mouth and rolled my whole hand within bandages....

Within a few seconds after I received my cut, My hands seemed to turn into a sphere, a whole different shape. It was only a cut on one of my fingers, yet my whole hand ended up bandaged.

The sad part was that it didn't end there, father's uproar over my wound attracted another type of trouble.

Mother....

Mother, just like father, had her face drained of blood when she saw how I looked, but what was different is that she chose to engulf me in a heavy embrace instead.

Usually people would be happy to be in a loving skin ship between mother and daughter, but this wasn't the case currently.

The embrace I was in left me breathless.... I mean literally breathless.

I couldn't take a single breath of air at all which left me surprised, I didn't think mother had this much strength within her fragile looking body. I couldn't stay surprised for long though, because of my lack of air causing me to turn blue.

It would take a few more seconds before my life savers arrived.

It would be difficult for members of the household to not notice all the noise coming out from the backyard, and lucky for me the two people I wanted to see the most, Marie, and Eric, head out to check the problem.

The duo arrived at the scene and finally released me from the grappling of my mother, and caring of my father.

Eric took father back to his office, while Marie escorted mother to drink tea.

It was a nightmare but luckily it ended pretty quick.

My two months, looking back, were although annoying, kind of heartwarming, having time to interact with mother and father.

Time that I won't have that often, since right now I'm being sent off at eh entrance of the manor for the academy.

Yes, today is the promised time for me to finally leave to enter as a student of the prestigious Flytian Royal Academy.....
