Life Travelling Through Fiction

The first day of school is always exciting. Wearing my UA uniform, a grey blazer jacket over a white dress shirt with a red tie and navy pants, Ieave early making my was to the enormous school. I go up the intimidating staircase, through the maze of halls, and finally through the door made to accommodate giants. Inside I find a nearly empty classroom. I guess I got here too early. I make my way inside to my assigned seat on the far left side in a middle row. People begin to gradually spill into the classroom as class gets closer to starting. To my right is a floating uniform. I'm surprised I can't see her in thermal vision, but I guess whatever hide her from visible light effects IR spectrum as well.

"Hello I'm Hona Gin" I say extending my hand to the invisible girl.

"Hagakure Tooru nice to meet you"

"So invisible?"

"Yep"

"I have a bit of an interest in support gear did you have your costume made with your hair so it would be invisible as well.?"

Her gloves come together. She pokes her finger together.

"They can do that?"

"They can do all sorts of things. I think they can even just make invisible clothes, but there is no real market for it ya know."

"Oui my own fantastical quirk is shining much better with my support belt" The unintroduced Aoyama Yuuga says.

We continue to talk about support items before our attention is stolen by a 'conversation' at the front of the class. Monologuing rule boy Ilda Tenya is yelling at boom boom barely a hero Bakugou Katsuki about his feet being on his desk. Then Midoriya and Uraraka get caught up in the whole argument as they walk in. As they're arguing a yellow sleeping bag inches back and forth across the floor going toward the teacher podium

"I think that living sleeping bag is our teacher"

"What no way" Hagakure says

"Being able to teach us while he sleeps is hella manly" I turn around and sure enough Kirishima is behind me. I was going to introduce my self, but I don't want to fall into Aizawa's trap. The sleeping bag rolls over revealing a tires face

"Welcome to the department of heroics" there's a bit of a commotion as people realize he's there. They quiet down a few seconds later.

"Hm, it took you 12 seconds to quiet down. You're all lacking in common sense. I'm your homeroom teacher Aizawa Shouta, p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e meeting you. Wear these immediately and then meet me at the P.E grounds" He says abruptly leaving out a box of gym uniforms.

Handing out appropriate uniforms to everyone, going to the locker rooms to change, and then going out to the field actually took a fair bit of time. Ten to Fifteen later, minutes class 1-A found themselves in an open field in front of their teacher. Once there they're told they'll be performing a quirk apprehension test.

"What about the opening ceremony and guidance counselor meeting" I don't know about the opening ceremony but the guidance counselor meeting could be important. A lot of the kids in the class aren't playing with a full deck me included. Unless it's more an academic counselor and less a therapist, in which case yea who cares if we missed that.

"If you want to be heroes, then we don't have time frilly niceties. You all know the school's reputation for freedom, and that freedom applies to teachers too."

He tells us we will be performing 8 tests, Softball pitch, Standing long jump, 50-meter dash, endurance run, side to side jumps, grip strength, push-ups, and seated toe touch. He then called up Bakugou to perform the softball throw. After a large explosion and yelling "DIE" he launches it 705m. OH come on his go-to scream is die, are we sure we can't all see a counselor. Then one person mentions this test sounds fun so Aizawa flips his shit telling us all that whoever comes in last place across all 8 tests will be expelled. Apparently, I didn't give the appropriate reaction to his threat because he then singled me out.

"Hano! If you're not taking this seriously tell me one good reason I shouldn't save us all time and just expel you right now."

I'm really going to have to go through the motions. Alright, how to save this.

"You're clearly trying us mind games with us and I'm not going to play them. I can't lose my cool over every minor threat or inconvenience"

"HA! Heroes have to deal with natural disasters, massive accidents, ego-mad villains. All kinds of calamities happen when you least expect them. It's our job as heroes to reverse it all and restore order. If you were expecting nice after school talks at McDonald's, that's too bad. For the next 3 years expect one hardship after another. This is PLUS ULTRA I expect you to overcome these challenges and climb to the top."

From there we went on to the various tests. The 50m dash was first I got 2.1 seconds meaning 24ish m/s 53 mph definitely room for improvement, but even with my personally disappointing results, I got first overall. Ilda was runner up at 3 seconds. Then was the grip strength which put me in third behind Yaoyorozu who made a vice and Mezo who was just a tad stronger than me. Then was the long jump. There were plenty of people with relevant quirks, but at 11 meters I was in the top 5. Side to side Jumps was weird for everyone I came in second only losing to Mineta who surprisingly turned himself into a human bumper ball. Then was the softball throw which was my worst test. I was somewhere in the top half of the class, but I'm not sure exactly where. I got a distance of 100m. It was during this test that things went momentarily crazy.

Midoriya tried to throw it as hard as he could only to throw it rather normally. Turns out the teacher erased his quirk so he couldn't throw it, but also stopped him from breaking his arm. The teacher gave him another try this time with his quirk. Midoriya used his full strength in his finger breaking it but sending him to second place in the ball throw. Then Bakugou was freaking out because Midoriya did well. He started trying to attack him to get information about how he suddenly got a quirk. This required the intervention of the teacher to stop the fight. I don't know how Bakugou didn't get in trouble, but we just moved on. Midoriya had to complete the last 3 tests with a broken finger. The last 3 tests I came in first or tied for first. Endurance run was a 3-way tie between me, Ilda, and Yaoyorozu. We all ran the max amount of distance/time. Me and Ilda physically by running and Yaoyorozu by making a motorized scooter. The next test is pushups me and several of the boys maxed out the test and the final sit and reach test was maxed out by me and several of the girls. Then after the tests, Aizawa addressed the class again.

"Time to present the results. Oh yea, that whole " expulsion" thing was a lie. It was a logical ruse. To pull out your best performance"

The rest of the class freaks, out but I just make a quizzical face clearly not believing him. Yaoyorozu instead made an after the fact post-rationalization. "C'mon guys, use your brain. Of course, it was a ruse."

Aizawa then displayed our placements. I came in second only losing to Yaoyorozu. The way it was scored was the sum of our placements in the 8 tests with a lower score being better. So the hypothetical highest score is 8 points I got 24 averaging 3rd place across all events. That put me in second place behind Yaoyorozu who had 2 fewer points. We tied for 3 first places. She beat me in the long jump, grip strength, and softball throw. Whereas I beat her in the 50m dash and side to side jumps. Well, I guess it would be boring and awkward to always win. This definitely showed me I have room to improve. I need to get used to my strength and speed I'm not using all of it. I was barely using the full effect of the body mod and that's not even considering the heroic modifiers or giant's strength. Midoriya is released to go to the nurse's office. Then the rest of the class was dismissed to change and pick up our class schedule before heading home for the day. There are no real classes until tomorrow.

We split up to change back before heading back. We hadn't had a chance to really introduce ourselves so we got a chance to while walking back to class. I spent most of the way back talking to Kirishima.

"Man, that was hella manly. You workout?

"I wish you know how hard it is to find a good gym?"

"I bet this school's got a good gym"

"You think?"

"For sure"

"Well wanna go look for it after we get our schedules"

"For sure."

After returning to the classroom most people left to go home, some people stayed to wait for Midoriya, me and Kirishima went looking for the school's weight room.
