Numerous players swarmed the outskirts of the village to hunt and kill various kinds of monsters. The hordes of players guzzled any monster almost as they appeared with constant attacks from all side. The tormented monsters ceased to exist and turned into experience points for the attacking players.

The first thing Xia Shishu did was to leave the spawn point of Silver Lake Village. He had wanted to progress through quests and levels like professionals, but how will he be able to do that?

He has no previous experience with MMORPGs other than watching recordings of others playing.

As he headed towards the village center, Xia Shishu checked for his beginner skills… But he had none! The beginner skills he was supposed to have when he began was <Strike> and <Stab>!

[Strike] (Level 1): Performs a strike on the target, dealing 100% of the player's melee damage. Automatic will have a set amount of damage while manual strike attacks will have a chance to trigger additional damage. Requirement: 20 ST. Cooldown: 2 second.

[Stab] (Level 1): Stabs a target in a vital area, dealing 150% of the player's melee damage. Automatic will have a set amount of damage while manual stabs will have a chance to trigger additional damage. Requirement: 30 ST. Cooldown: 2 second.

Xia Shishu immediately logged out and used his desktop to access the game's web page. The information available on the web page was gathered and shared by the players, also having the basic information for beginners. Xia Shishu immediately searched for the information about a beginner's skills.

As he searched, he was stunned. He wasn't wrong, he was suppose to have two skills when he begin. That means the skills he was supposed to begin with were gone!

"That can't be! System! Did you cheat me? Where are my skills??" Xia Shishu roared in his mind.

[Host did not get cheated. Skills are meant to be earned, not given. Host will still be able to acquire skills in Second Reality.]

Xia Shishu was agitated. If he doesn't have skills then does that mean he won't be able to play like normal players? Because he was agitated, he did not want to look at the game's web page anymore. If he found out other defects about his character then he might very well quit Second Reality without even playing it.

He logged back into Second Reality, and continued to head towards the village center.

"Those damn wild chicken are devouring our village's crops! Are there any heroes around that will help us exterminate these vicious chickens?" asked an old village elder who paced back and forth anxiously near the village center.

If it was not for the bluish circle floating on top of the village elder's head, many would have mistaken him for a real person!

The extremely lifelike characteristics of Second Reality attracted many people, but it is also a contentious issue. Since players couldn't harass other players, some daring people harassed the NPCs!

Second Reality was ever evolving, but it didn't give immediate consequences for players who s.e.x.u.a.lly harassed NPCs. Though if they were caught by the guards, they have to face something worse than a two day ban. They have to sit in prison for two days!

There is a difference. A ban for two days meant that you don't need to play Second Reality for two days, and sitting in prison meant that you have to be online for 48 hours without doing anything!

After a few players were caught and put to jail, NPC harassment reduced, but that didn't end it. Horny players still want to try their luck and touch a NPC's b.r.e.a.s.t, perky b.u.t.t, or even a male's part! Damn!

Of course, we've diverted from the story.

A group of players rushed towards the village elder. This village elder is quite sly, he only comes a few times per day. He gives out quests, but only to a limited amount of players each time!

A player moved towards the village elder and said, "Dear respected village elder, I am willing to serve!"

Another player quickly spoke to the village elder too, "I, Mu Litong also wish to provide assistance and help you get rid of these evil chickens!"

Since he was close, Xia Shishu saw them. Seeing the players act as such, he was amazed, seeing that they were really role-playing.

The village elder was overjoyed and said, "Brave young lads, your kindness will definitely bring you good luck! On behalf of the whole village, I am thanking you. Are there any more youths who would like to help?"

He must ask the elder too or else he might not find a quest by just roaming around the village!

But he remembered how the players acted towards the elder. They role-played, and if he doesn't, he might not receive the quest.

It's a good thing that he can role play too!

With two hands placed behind his back and head tilted 45 degrees, he majestically walk towards the elder. In an overpowering tone, he spoke to the elder, "Humph! Mortal. Since I, Xiao Wugui has free time, I will help you. But! I will not help unpaid. I require triple payment!"

Xia Shishu felt proud of himself. He's really role-playing to the fullest, and the elder will even accept him. Other players role played and they got the quest, so he will get it too!

The two players who got the quest and the coming players looked at Xia Shishu with disdain. He's only wearing the raggy beginner outfit and he still dares to act arrogantly towards the village elder?

Brother, do you even know what respect is? Don't you know that you might incur the elder's wrath rather than the quest?

Some of the players laughed at Xia Shishu's ignorance. They swore at him secretly in their minds. Even though they swore, they were quite happy because they got a good laugh out of the guy.

Even so, the village elder's next few words stupefied them.

"O' honorable lad, triple payment is no problem at all! Having someone like you helping the village is a great thing! I will thank you for only asking for triple payment…"

[Ding! You have received a quest: Eliminate the Wild Chickens! (Difficulty Level: E)]

Xia Shishu checked the description of his quest.

[Eliminate the Wild Chickens!] (Difficulty Level: E)

Quest Description: As a great hero, you are willing to help the village in times of need. Go to the village's East Fields and kill 50 wild chicken with the group assigned by the village elder. The payment will be triple as you requested.

Progress: Wild Chicken Killed. Light Blue Feather of Wild Chicken acquired from Wild Chicken corpse. (0/50)]

In Second Reality, there are different quest difficulty levels. It goes from F,E,D,C,B,A, and S in ascending order. The difficulty is determined by the Second Reality A.I. according to the player's level compared with the monster's, or the importance of the quest itself.

Xia Shishu was satisfied with the elder's answer. He should've asked for more though. "Great! I, Immortal Shish-, I mean Immortal Xiao Wugui will wait for the remaining players before heading off to kill those small birds," Xia Shishu replied.

The Village Elder nodded his head and his face shows worship and gratitude.

This left the other players even more bewildered.

Holy Shit! Three times payment? Did they hear wrong? What did that arrogant person eat? What's up with his name too?!

Wait!

Maybe they didn't get the triple payment because they've never asked before?? After all, they're going accordingly to what the experienced players posted online.

What if the guide online was fake and they were lied to? This must be Second Reality's secret play style!

The players believed they've finally come upon the truth. They didn't hesitate to try it out. A spot for the quest is limited and if they wait any longer, others will get the spot instead of them!

A young man named Favored By Heavens walked towards the Village Elder in the same manner as Xia Shishu. Though his style is a little sloppy since he didn't practice as much as Xia Shishu did!

He roared in an arrogant tone, "Village elder! I'll help you if I get triple payment. You should be happy because someone great like me will help you for triple payment!"

Like Xia Shishu, he was proud of his acting skills.

The Village Elder stared at the youth. His face didn't show his emotions, but his mouth did!

"Brat! Do you think I'll give you triple payment?! GET OUT OF HERE! Go play somewhere else! Humph! Kids these days doesn't know the dangers outside the gates!"

BamN! Others were surprised! They were dumbfounded! What's with the difference in treatment??
