LifeRestart As A BearDogLizard

Chapter 2 - The Great Migration

'In short these creatures don't have a concrete language which was expected as even on earth only few creatures do, such as humans, dolphins, ect.'

'I seem to be able to understand their intentions even though I used to be human. So I assume this must be my skill at work. I'm guessing for any intelligent creature it would just act as a translator. How convenient.'

'Though getting back to the problem or should I say problemS in front of me is that these nut jobs in are all screaming with intentions that roughly mean Hungry! Sleepy! Tired! Lazy! or just screaming without any thought.'

'I mean I get the hungry one, but really? If you are sleepy or something why are you screaming?! Go to sleep!'

'Their only redeeming factor is that they are cute. At least they are aesthetically pleasing and would probably make for a good pet...'

Joshua with nothing better to do with his time spent a good 15 minutes to criticize the creature he had become. Though soon he decided to move on with his life, still a bit disgruntled, but he moved on.

'Next would be the Photosynthesize skill, it seems to have come from the Yaban race itself as during my time "researching" these creatures I noticed their scales at times shined oddly when exposed to the sun.'

'I'm not even going to question how these things have the ability to photosynthesize like damn plants.'

'That would explain why I see so many laying and lazing around in the ground as they get their energy from the sun.'

'Though I also noticed that some are eating the grass or the leaves and berries off a bush so that means they don't get all of their energy from the sun.'

It was then that Joshua noticed something different that changed on his status whilst he was busy observing the Yabans.

+Turn a bit of the sunlight into energy

'I leveled up? But I didn't even do anything, was it from the energy from the sun or is it just my species aging?'

'Strange I'll have to take note of this, but for now I think I'm done with these guys.'

Joshua looks over to see what looked to be a village in the far off distance.

If he was still human than the trip would have maybe took him a day to walk the full distance maybe shorter if he ran.

Now that he was stuck with four stubby legs, that he would need to get used to, it would seem that the trip was going to take two days at the very least.

'I'll follow along to river to the village so that I have a source of water whenever I am tired or need a rest.'

With a plan in mind Joshua took action and immediately started to steadily crawl (fumbled at first) towards the river.

Traveling done the river left little entertainment for Joshua, but he actually enjoyed the peaceful and serene environment compared to the bustling city life.

Josh would observe the Yabans that came for a drink as well as any he went by. He actually thought they to be really cute.

...

Hours have gone by as Joshua trudged toward the village

'I'm almost there it seems I'm about two thirds of the way there I should be able to make it there by tomorrow definitely.'

'My legs are sore, my species are definitely not made for long distance travel' *sigh*

Joshua sighed because now it looked like it would be hard for Joshua to participate in his favorite hobby back on earth.

Back on earth Joshua's favorite hobby was definitely to travel. To see the different cultures and explore the world, he was definitely an outdoor kind of guy. He could just not sit in place for too long and can't help, but fall to his wanderl.u.s.t.

Though travels are expensive, but that never stopped Josh from traveling on his vacations from work.

It was then that a young Yaban seems to have confronted Joshua.

"Yip!"

It started to scream in front of him, but Joshua knew from his Language Understanding skill that the young one was not conveying any intentions in that yip.

Joshua finding it adorable and with nothing better to do with his time decided to entertain the little kid.

"Yip!""Yip!"

"Yip!""Yip!"

"Yip!"

"Yip!""Yip!""Yip!"

Joshua seemed to have immersed himself in yipping back and forth with the kid. It actually seemed kind of fun to see the look on the kids face when it heard Joshua yip back at it.

Yi-

Joshua was enjoying himself with a yipping contest with the child as a breather from all the traveling he had just went through when all of a sudden the child stopped abruptly.

'What's wrong?'

Josh thought as he saw the child had an anxious look on it's face contrary to the one of joy it had sported when they were barking(?) at each other.

Yip!

It gave one last yip before it started to hurriedly crawl away, but this time Joshua could interpret the feelings of anxiousness, worry, and fear from the yip. Completely unlike the yips without any intentions earlier.

Joshua was blinded by the serene beauty of nature and the cute harmless creatures that he completely forgot his situation.

This acted as a cold reminder that he was in another world without any knowledge of the mechanics of this world or his surroundings, he warily looks around to try to dig up any clues to what was going on.
