Chapter 22 - Den of “Evil”

It was night and the wolves once again emerged from the forest. This time, with all the training that he went through, Joshua had no reservations with ending the lives of the wolves.

Joshua was able to swiftly kill three wolves unnoticed from the rest of the pack, before the wolves began to retreat.

'They are starting to leave. Now is my chance to follow them to their den.'

Joshua kept a relatively large gap between himself and the slowest member of the wolf pack so that they wouldn't notice a giant Direwolf following them. (Btw the alpha is leading at the front. Otherwise it would have noticed Josh tailing it with its sharp senses.)

After sprinting, for what felt like an hour, the wolves began to slow their pace. Joshua did the same while keeping notice of there whereabouts so that he can return here whenever he needs.

The wolves entered a small clearing with a fairly small cave at the end.

The wolf pack settled down on the ground and quickly drifted to sleep, while a few others kept watch.

After observing for a bit longer Josh understood why they didn't enter the cave.

'Ahh... the cave is the home for the alpha, his mates, and the cubs.'

Joshua figures this out when he five wolves that looked much fairer compared to the rest of the wolves exited the cave followed by a dozen pups.

The five wolves came up to the alpha and begun to lick its face while the kids played around at his feet.

'Riajuu Explode!! He freaking has a harem and gets to keep all the pretty female wolves to himself!'

Joshua felt like his soul was crying out at the sight of this injustice.

'How could this freakin be! The dream of all "gentlemen", but was never realistically possible is happening right before my eyes!'

'I'm being blinded!'

'He probably has orgies in that cave all the time seeing as he has more than a dozen freakin kids!'

Joshua glared at the cave as if the cave was the origin to all evil and injustice.

'I just gained another reason to kill that bastard!'

It seems that even though Joshua was hidden a far distance from the alpha the extreme killing intent radiating from his body that targeted the alpha was so strong that it caused the alpha to flinch for a moment.

The alpha looks around with a look of confusion on his face, but decides that he was just hallucinating as there was no way for there to be an enemy that would be dumb enough to target him when he was in the middle of his pack of over a hundred wolves.

Joshua noticing that his thoughts were leaking calms down at observes the pack.

'Theres too much of them. This is going to take me a long time to wear them down.'

Joshua waited until the alpha and his family entered the cave before Josh decided he should start.

'I'll pick off at the ones patrolling that are farther off from the rest of the pack. I'll just do this one step at a time. After all the journey begins with the first step.'

Joshua spent the next three hours trying to kill off any of the patrolling wolves that went too far off.

In the three hours Joshua could only kill five wolves, as it was difficult with the wolves being so densely packed together.

Joshua also had to make sure that he killed the wolves in one hit or else he would alert the rest of the pack.

Luckily the smell of blood was not uncommon at the wolf den. The smell of blood was almost always present as the corpses of Yabans were scattered all over the place.

This made it so that the blood of the dead wolves did not alert the rest of the pack.

Joshua decides to call it a day as he still needed to sleep himself. He would check the place out again during the day.

'I should hide these corpses somewhere because if they find them in the morning then it would spell trouble.'

Josh remembered that on the way to the den the wolves had passed a small stream.

'It should be nearby. I'll just dump the corpses in there and they would be flushed downstream.'

Having thought up with a plausible method to dispose of the corpses, Joshua begins to drag the corpses two at a time to the stream.

(Josh is a Direwolf a lot bigger than normal wolves so he can drag two of them in his mouth)

Joshua had to make three trips back and forth to the stream, but before long all of the corpses had been disposed of.

Josh would have kept one and brought it back to his cave to eat, but Josh already had many creatures to snack on when he was on his way to the Yaban field from the goblin village.

Joshua also took the chance to wash himself of all the dirt, blood, sweat, and grime from his body in the stream. Joshua always felt the need to wash himself after being dirtied.

A habit that did not go away even after reincarnating.

With this matter settled, Joshua begins his trip back to his cave at get some rest.

He did a lot of fighting and training on his way from the goblin village and killing the wolves without alerting the pack took a lot of concentration so he was pooped.

Once he made it back to his hidden cave, Joshua plopped right down in a comfy corner and closed his eyes.

'Ah~ it's nice to be back.'

*Yawn*

'Goodnight myself... haha...'
