Lightning Sage

Raiden continued walking after giving the man the lesson he needed. While walking towards the Uchiha district he started hearing the gossip of the villagers.

"Hey, did you hear about that rumour?"

"Ha, what rumour?"

"They say there is a child in the orphanage who is the incarnation of the nine-tails."

"What?!! That's impossible, Fourth Hokage-sama gave his life to kill that monster."

"I heard it from a couple of ninja in the bar, so it has to be true."

"Then shouldn't we get rid of him?"

"I thought that as well, but then I heard them say he was protected by lord third."

"But why would he protect something that killed so many of our family and friends." said the man clearly agitated.

"It must be to use as a weapon."

When Raiden heard this he had a hunch, so he activated his Sharingan and looked towards the man who told the rumour. He suddenly frowned, the man's chakra was going haywire.

It's been almost two years since the Kyuubi attack, and it looks like someone is making a move.

'He's under a genjutsu. It looks like this rumour isn't so simple, someone wants to spread it on purpose and he's probably not someone simple, but that doesn't concern me. Even if it did someone spreading rumours about one of the secrets of the village is much stronger than me.' Thought Raiden to himself before walking off.

While he was walking, the same old man jumped in front of him and stopped him.

"Kid, why would you do that to the great me?"

"Because you're a pervert."

"I'm not a pervert....I'm a super pervert"

He said before he realised he was being too loud and the people in the street were looking at him weirdly.

"Ah, anyway come with me kid." he said before taking him away using the body flicker.

They arrived at an empty training ground. He put him down and looked at Raiden.

"Not bad kid, most people would vomit on their first flicker."

"Well this isn't my first so obviously I won't." Said Raiden while looking at him like an idiot.

"Oh, you look like you're seven or eight and already practicing the body flicker, you must be quite a genius."

"I'm actually five and a half."

"Oh! an even bigger genius then, what's your name kid?"

"one has to present their name when asking others."

"Haha, I suppose you're right. I am one of the three legendary Sannin, The sage of Mount Myoboko, Jiraiya!" Said Jiraiya while doing a weird pose.

"Nice to meet you, I am Hitoshi Raiden."

"Hitoshi? I haven't heard of a Hitoshi clan before. Who's teaching you?"

"Because there isn't, my father is a civilian. I am half Uchiha from my mother's side, so my mother teaches me."

"Half Uchiha huh"

"Why were you spying on the women's bath."

"I already told you I was doing research for my book." he said while holding a book for Raiden to see.

"I see, so you're just a pervert."

"I am no-.... sigh just forget it, now what's more important, I sense nature energy on you. Why is that? Have you been summoned by one of the three legendary sage locations like the great me and is practicing sage mode."Said Jiraiya while thinking 'But that should be impossible since he's too young and his body shouldn't be able to start absorbing natural energy until at least 10, and that if he trains his body.'

"Huh, natural energy? summoning? what's that?" Asked Raiden having never heard about it before.

"hmm, since you don't know about it, you're probably marked by a sage so that when you try to summon an animal for the first time, you'll be reverse summoned to their world. you don't need to know about natural energy right now since you haven't summoned and animal. Just know that there is a Jutsu called the summoning Jutsu, you'll be taught about it in the academy. Never use it until you think you're ready because you might be stuck there for a long time."

"I don't really understand anything except don't use the summoning Jutsu unless you're confident in your strength and have your affairs in order."

"That pretty much sums it up."

"Thanks, I guess."

"No problem kid, and as you're a potential sage I'll even give you a free chance to be taught one thing by me."

"Hmm, I think I'll save it for now. I still haven't mastered my basics."

"That's a smart choice, but be warned kid, my missions normally take a long time so I might be gone for years at a time."

"That's even better. How about this, I plan to graduate when I am seven. I should have mastered all the basics and some more by then. I'll use this chance then."

"Good, now I have a meeting with the Hokage. see ya kid." Said Jiraiya before a buff of smoke took his place and he disappeared.

'He's mastered the body flicker to such degree. Maybe that's what I should learn.' Raiden thought to himself before opening his Sharingan and flickering away as well.

Jiraiya, Who was still watching from afar, saw the Sharingan and thought 'A half Uchiha genius with the Sharingan and is marked by a sage this young, He could become one of Konoha's greatest pillars if taught right.' Then flickered towards the Hokage for real this time.

Raiden went home to have lunch with his mom and asked her about summoning animals.
