Liming

The Demon Lord was reluctant to leave.

He looked down and stared at the ripple Aurora caused when she dived into the river. As he stood there floating, he was like an untouchable god looking at the lowliest of insects there is. But this insect has caused his left hand to be corrupted. If he and his demon fire wasn't fast enough, she would be right, his entire right arm would've been dangling like a dead vegetable now.

He turned his hair and eye color to black and he discarded his outer robe and threw it down the river.

"I will come looking for you and I will kill you." After he said that, whooosh, he disappeared.

Underwater, Aurora was only around ten-meter deep. She didn't dare to go deeper because of the mysteriousness of this place. She looked up when she felt the Demon Lord's presence disappear.

"So there is a cure.", she smirked. "Your brother is surely more useful than you are."

Aurora closed her eyes and her consciousness entered the white space. From there, she again closed her eyes and concentrated. It is like looking at another space inside her space, or shall we call this one dark space.

This is where she bound her demon fire and this is where Aurora sleeps.

"Hey, do you have a name?", she asked.

The demon fire in child form did not respond but instead, he closed his eyes.

"Alright then. I will call you Blacky One and I will call your little brother Blacky Two.", she shrugged.

He opened his eyes and stared at Aurora. Anger and shock, that's what he felt.

What are they?! Dogs?!

He sighed, "I'm called Yi Hou and my little brother is Er Hou."

Pfft!!! Aurora couldn't help but laugh. "Hahaha! First Fire and Second Fire. Hahaha! At this point, there's no difference to the names Blacky One and Blacky Two. In fact, they sound cuter! Hahaha!"

Yi Hou's face turned red. It's true that having a literal "First" and "Second" for their names are kind of lame but he would rather be called that than something they use to call dogs. He stared at Aurora and frowned.

After a good minute of laughing, Aurora stopped. She raised her hands as a sign of giving up and added, "Okay! Okay, Yi Hou!"

She cleared her throat, "In the previous era or dimension whatever you call it, I am called Eos. But since we are in some ancient Chinese setting right now, you can call me Huanghu." She then pointed to Aurora, "Aurora is now what you guys call Liming. She needs a lot of rest. I will take over for the time being."

"Nu-uh-uh!!", Aurora raised her index finger when she noticed Yi Hou wanted to ask something. "I know you have a lot of questions, but this is not the right time. Our survivability is at stake."

Huanghu's consciousness then left the dark space and then the white space. When she opened her eyes, she was still underwater. She looked around and thought, "What a mysterious river. What a beautiful color."

"I'm sorry but this red will now become black." She released a tiny amount of dark flame from her right hand and it slowly spread. "A little distraction for you dear protectors while I search for a place to hide."

She started to swim upwards when she was startled by a strong force that is pulling her downwards. She growled, "Not again!!!"

A five-meter wide vortex appeared out of nowhere on the bottom of the river and she was now inside a whirlpool.

Huanghu thought that she needs to swim out of the whirlpool but the force was too strong. It was like all her muscles are being shredded to pieces and pulled everywhere. In fact, if she was still that young weak girl that she was before she absorbed the demon fire, she wouldn't even be able to move a muscle and just be s.u.c.k.e.d down without a fight. But because her flesh and bones were refined and because she also has the dark matter circulating in her veins, she was able to stay in place.

But damn! She has to get out of this whirlpool or else she will be s.u.c.k.e.d into that scary looking vortex which who knows lead to where! One world traversing is enough, she doesn't need another!

She looked straight and eyed the edge of the whirlpool. Shit! Those are like water blades. She thought that if she gets near that she will surely have cuts all over.

She released a tiny amount of dark matter but right after it separated from her hand, it was s.u.c.k.e.d down immediately. She faced the other way and released another one and again, it was s.u.c.k.e.d down immediately.

Huanghu scrunched her eyebrows, she positioned her index finger and thumb like that of a gun. "Let's try dark matter gun!" She shot the dark matter she acc.u.mulated and it went past the whirlpool but two seconds after a little whirlpool branched out and s.u.c.k.e.d the dark matter she released.

"Hmm... Is that how it is?", she had a realization.

Huanghu had a serious expression. She went near the edge and concentrated. She then slowly coated her entire body with a thin dark matter.

She faced the wider area of the whirlpool and placed her two arms in front of her. She also raised her legs slightly and thought, "I have to do this, I don't have much time."

A burst of dark matter came out from her hands and feet. The force made her shot out from the whirlpool with her back first. But she didn't forget to cancel the dark matter as soon as she separated from the edge.

She is now more than a meter away from the whirlpool and she felt relief. She just released around eighty percent of the dark matter she can release with her current power.

"I have to hurry or I'll just be recaptured by those protectors.", she thought while she started to swim away.

But unexpectedly, the five-meter wide vortex expanded twice the size.

"Motherf.u.c.ker!!!"

Shluuurp!!! Not only the size but the force also intensified. She was s.u.c.k.e.d instantaneously into the vortex.
