Reaching his room the first thing, Ethan did was throw himself on the bed closing his eyes. The moment he did the faces of the people he killed and tortured appeared surrounding him dragging him down to complete darkness.

Ethan: How many crystals of each Rank?

Vera: Rias doesn't know for certain but she thinks that we have around one thousand Rank 1 crystals and one hundred Rank 2 crystals. I know that the numbers don't seem to match, my lord. I will verify and investigate the reason.

Ethan: Humm... I think that I know where they might have went. Do the investigation then report back to me.

Vera: Yes, my lord.

Ethan: Get Veronica here before going.

Vera: Yes, my lord.

Ethan: "Mike is right about activating his bloodline... I will at least try."

At the same time all of them obtained knowledge with time. For example crystals needed.

Normal Human → Rank 1 – 1 Rank 1 crystal

Rank 1 → Rank 2 – 10 Rank 1 crystals or 1 Rank 2 crystals

Rank 2 → Rank 3 – 100 Rank 1 crystals or 10 Rank 2 or 1 Rank 3 crystals

And so on.

They obtained this information back when having Layla and the rest rising in ranks. Of course more experiments would be needed to confirm, but it was solid knowledge they had for the future.

It just showed the power of bloodlines as well, Ethan, Mike and Hugh need for crystals was substantially lower.

Soon Mike and Veronica left towards Bright Hope City in the heavy truck. Saying goodbye to their friends and colleagues.

As time slowly passed, ten days went by without a hitch.

Endi had stopped spreading after clearing the area around the mansion in 100 meters. It was already pushing Endi limits to the max for the matrix, the main one, to control all of the vines without causing problems.

Mike and Veronica hadn't come back from Bright Hope City. Some started worrying especially Hugh as he and Mike had seen Vera calling Veronica to Ethan room before they left.

Hugh was certain that whatever would come out of their trip wouldn't be good in some ways, like when Ethan used the Sharigan on him to awaken his bloodline.

Their supply on crystals during that time increased by a lot filling their storage. Ethan also learned during that time that maybe the alluring effect Bai Hu had over the creatures wasn't so bad. Considering especially that the only ones that had bloodlines right now were him, Hugh, Mike, Endi and Bai Hu.

One thing that surprised Ethan was that he tried to rise Bai Hu rank to at least Rank 2, but even after giving him around one hundred Rank 2 crystals, Bai Hu showed no signs of rising.

At the same time without the stress from the continuous attacks of the creatures, everyone worked more freely, harvesting the vegetables and cultivating much more using the free earth outside of the mansion.

As for the Research Team, they started working on the creatures corpses and the vegetables together with the Engineer Team.

Also, they started filling the Monster Guidebook with the creatures information while Ethan and Rias created another one book for the vegetables.

Ethan Room.

Vera: Lord, we are finally beginning to stabilize in everything. What should we concern now?

Ethan: Expand and conquer.

Vera: Huh?

Ethan: We won't just stay the way we are. We are still nothing more than humans, per say, guns and poison can kill us easily.

Vera: Is there such a need for that, lord?

Ethan: No one is a fool.

Vera: Huh?

Ethan: Emotions.

Vera: I am sorry lord but I don't understand.

Ethan: Even if you are at the top of the world never forget that there is someone stronger, smarter.... there are some better or worse than others but no one is a fool. Emotions.
