Limitless Human

Chapter 86 - Assistants

Ethan: Sigh..... to change the subject. Did you woke your bloodline?

Mike: …..... yes.

Hugh: Oh, now that is interesting. Show us.

Hugh could barely hold his excitement as he rushed to Mike side while Ethan just smiled warmly with a trace of sadness.

Ethan: "I guess that they are still pretty hurt from my actions. Can't say I blame them?"

Mike looked at Hugh in defeat as he summoned his stats showing it to Hugh and Ethan.

Hugh: HAHAHA... Ethan was right! Your bloodline surely has a strong beginning.

Hearing Hugh, Mike couldn't but look at Ethan from the corner of his eye while sighing.

Ethan: hahahaha

Hugh: hahahaha

Mike: hahahaha

Sounds of laughter filled the room as the three of them for the first time since all of the apocalyptic events had a changed to talk and play together relaxed.

Ethan: Cecily.

Cecily: Master?

Descending the floating castle, Ethan called out for Cecily, as she immediately appeared beside him bowing towards him.

Ethan: Is the experiment successful?

Cecily: Unfortunately no, master. The celestial puppets are still rushing at the Demon Essence.

Ethan: Hmmm.... with Endi rise to Rank 6 can't she be putted under the castle and spread her vines through all over the place equally?

Cecily: It's possible.

Ethan: What is the area it can control to?

Cecily: I would say around 150 meters in a circle, or 1.000 meters just controlling one vine to a single direction.

Ethan: Then try putting her matrix below the castle, then have it control 9 vines. One for each direction like North, South, West, East, Northwest, North-east, South-west and South-east. As for the final one have it on the floating castle.

Cecily: That way I could use Endi to protect us more efficiently against threats.

Ethan: Exactly.

Cecily: Will do so.

Ethan: After you accomplish all of that bring me the Demon Essence.

Cecily: Yes master. I will be back.

Saying so Cecily vanished into thin air, meanwhile Ethan had reached the bottom levels of the floating castle.

Currently their entire territory was divided as the Ant Queen was on the north side. The Horse Beasts on the south. And the Humans on the east side, leaving the west side empty.

As the Ant Queen was focused on her task and the relations between the horse beasts and humans weren't good from the recent days, it caused for all of them to drift apart establishing their settlements in different locations.

Never the less, every single piece of land free was used for agriculture. At the same time with Endi increase in ranks it allow that the earth outside of their primary walls to be free and worked on.

Ethan didn't to be concern about their food supply as after the evolution of the 'mansion', the land

also seemed to have mutated bringing countless different kinds of vegetables, but at the same time their growth speed had increased by a lot.

In fact they had to expand their warehouse by numerous of times in a row.

Walking in the cold floor Ethan steps sounded through the entire prison, as he came to the two cells where Josephina and Ana were residing on.

Josephina and Ana hearing steps coming from the barely illuminated corridor, rushed to the prison bars grasping them tightly as they turned towards Ethan.

Their eyes that were without any trace of life regained a little of it when they saw Ethan standing in front of them.

Only someone that experience this kind of situation could relate with their pain and suffer. Even though it was slightly reduce with the two of them being in a cell close to the other, but at the same time they were nothing more than high school students.

Around a month ago they were waking up to go to school hang around with their friends, talking about their interests.

Ethan: So..... is any of you liking the prison?

…...

Silence was the response to Ethan sarcasm question, as neither of the two took their eyes off from Ethan.

It almost felt that Ethan wasn't the person that put them there but instead of ray of hope in the darkness of the prison.

Ethan: It seems that you almost there. I think that another week or two will be go for you.

Josephina and Ana expressions immediately fell as they clung desperately at the prison bars, looking fiercely at Ethan.

Josephina: Please! Ethan, let us out!

Ana just nodded heavily almost bashing her head into the prison bars.

Ethan: Oh, maybe.... nah, I don't think so.

Saying so Ethan left while waving his hand at the two of them, as they screamed for him to comeback.

Ethan: "It's going good. Soon they shall be more obedient."

After a while Ethan came to the ground floor where Vera, Martha, Veronica and Rias established offices where they worked. They also had assigned who they wanted to be their assistants. The reason why Ethan was going there to see if there was nothing wrong and to confirm their requests over the assistants.

The four of them were still working on creating and managing the database of the registrations. After all they were just four people working with paper to manage the information over hundred creatures.

Without mentioning that some of the humans wanted to leave as soon as possible which took priority over everything as Ethan and the rest also didn't want them around.

Ethan quietly approached Vera that was so focused on her matters that she didn't notice him.

Ethan: Vera.

Tapping on her shoulder slowly, Ethan called out. Vera in surprise almost jumped in fright while brandishing her sword until she saw who it was.

Vera: I am sorry lord. I---

Ethan: Calm down. There is no need. I am here to see if everything is going well while seeing what assistants the four of you have chosen.

Vera: Oh, I have them here. Here.

Ethan: Hmmmm...

Looking over at the paper in his hands, Ethan saw that Vera selected Gloria and Jenna to be her assistants.

Martha chose Mila and Carlos, the couple of doctors that Ethan brought on one of his first trips to Bright Hope City.

As for Veronica she had two unknown names to Ethan, but considering the fact that Mike and her went out to Bright Hope City she must have connected better with some people, so there was no trouble with them becoming assistants.

And finally, Rias had Josephina and Ana in her paper to be her assistants.

Vera that was beside Ethan saw this, as she had a chill running down her back.

Vera: "F.u.c.k."

Holding her sword tightly, Vera turned to the side glancing at Ethan face only to find him smiling, brightly.

Vera: "What the...."

Ethan: There is no problem. Have Cecily informed the people you want to be your assistants. All of them need to come, in the case anything happens have Cecily to come and tell me.

Vera: Y-Yes lord.

Vera stagnated a little as she agreed with Ethan.

Looking at his back fading away, Vera couldn't help but think of the reason behind Ethan smile a moment ago.

As time passed, soon afternoon came as Ethan was sitting relaxing on the floating castle walls looking up in the sky.

Cecily: Master.

Cecily suddenly appeared beside him bowing like usual.

Ethan: Is everything done?

Cecily: Yes master, it took some time as Endi control over it's vines isn't perfect, but it will soon complete master plan.

Ethan: Good. Prepare another sacrifice.

Cecily: Another, master?

Ethan: Yes. Although we are strong, but I found in my recent trip that rank power isn't everything. One's personal strength and battle power can be increased hard-work and study. Even though the Ant Queen is a ruler it possessed a unbelievable strength for her own rank. The same can be applied to us.

Cecily: Oh, very well master. I will be going then.

Ethan: Wait. What do we have for the sacrifice?

Cecily: Hmmm... I think that we only have the bodies from the celestial puppets.
