Little Miss Devil:The President's Mischievous Wife

13 I’ll Make It up by Being in Your Future

There's a reason why Lu Xinyi hated drinking alcohol, and right now, she regretted making herself too drunk last night. Having a hangover was terrible. She was feeling very sick and dizzy. Her headache and the dryness on her throat made it harder for her to move.

It must have been around noon when she woke up but didn't open her eyes right away. She remembered having a drinking session with Shen Yi last night and wondered if she made a fool out of herself again.

Well, she was the biggest fool, right? She'd let her ex-boyfriend cheat on her with her best friend. She hadn't read all of Gong Yijun's messages and had never returned his calls. Today was the last day of their cruise vacation, and she would have to talk with Shen Yi for their next plans.

Would she really marry him for the sake of vengeance? Was this really the right decision for her?

As pretty much always she did over the past years, she laid still, held her breath and eyes sealed. She was unsure where she might find herself in. Did Shen Yi bring her back to her own cabin?

Then she opened her eyes and let out a sigh of relief. She was alone in a huge bed. Shen Yi probably took her back to his suite and went somewhere else.

Yawning and stretching, Lu Xinyi blinked against the bright light that greeted her. She sat up in bed and slowly took in the black and white bedroom. From her left to right, she noticed the sparse of furniture within the room and a bookcase filled with business-related books.

How boring. She would die of boredom if those were the only books she would read for this vacation. Her gaze landed on her left hand, particularly on her ring finger. It was still empty, but soon, she would be a married woman.

Standing, she stopped and shook her head when she saw her reflection in the mirror on the other side of the room. She let out a loud shriek. From all the crying she did last night, her makeup was ruined, leaving her with darkened eyes.

"Shen Yi! Why didn't you tell me I look like a raccoon?!"

"You called me, my love?"

Shen Yi walked into the room. He just finished his shower and was brushing his teeth when he heard her calling his name. Lu Xinyi covered her eyes as soon as she saw him standing on the doorway.

"What the hell, Shen Yi! At least put something on before going in here!" Her blush crept across her face.

It was then Shen Yi remembered that he hadn't put his clothes on, and he was only covered with a towel, his toothbrush still in his hand. He grinned at her.

"You can at least tell me you like what you see."

Sure, he was arrogant, which already given, thinking that he could have whatever he wanted and that his way was the set way, but he hadn't really forced her to do something she didn't like yet.

But she could somewhat understand him, which was weird even for her.

Lu Xinyi groaned and turned around so she couldn't see his almost naked body. Some might even call her a child, but heck, it wasn't in her comfort level to see a man only covered with a towel, sauntering around the room alone with her.

"Shen Yi, you idiot! Go back and finish your shower."

"Or you can just join me?" he asked with a laugh.

Her face flushed immensely. Yes, Shen Yi could drive her crazy. Her poor sanity would not be spared in their marriage. His grin curled devilishly. He would never get tired of seeing her flustered state. Her face was an explosion of red. Maybe, just maybe, being married to her wasn't a bad idea at all.

"Alright, alright. I'll leave now. You can take the other bathroom near the kitchen if you want to clean yourself." He turned to leave, but Lu Xinyi called him again.

"Did I do something embarrassing last night?" she asked over her shoulders.

Shen Yi lightly shrugged. Sleeping on the couch wasn't comfortable, but there was nothing he could do about it. It wouldn't be appropriate for the two of them if they shared his bed while they weren't married yet.

"It's alright. You were just crying because of him again," he said.

"I'm sorry…"

"For what?"

"For giving you problems. I promise I will never shed another tear for that jerk again."

He slanted his eyes her way. That was really what he wanted to tell her. He wouldn't like to see her crying about another man when they got married.
