"You said you don't do pecks, but I don't mind giving you one." Lu Xinyi said and looked everywhere else but at him.

"I didn't say I dislike them. I don't mind receiving them from you. So feel free to give me some whenever you feel like doing it," he whispered. His lips tingle a bit where she'd kissed him.

"That's good to hear." She gave him a shy smile and refused to meet his eyes again. "Let's call it a night, shall we?" she awkwardly replied. She was still embarrassed that she kissed him. It was their first kiss as husband and wife.

"Come, I'll show you our room." Shen Yi released her from being trapped.

Lu Xinyi blinked and was taken aback.

Wait. Did he just say their room?

They're going to share a room?

She was panicking inside but still followed her husband as he walked upstairs with her luggage on his hand.

Lu Xinyi estimated that his house could be at least three hundred square meters. He didn't have many furnitures just like what his suite on the cruise ship had, but the ones he had here were smartly decorated and did have functions for his daily living.

With the spacious area within the living room, connected to the kitchen and dining room, Mallows and Milk Tea could easily play and walk around the house. Once they reached the second floor, she saw four rooms.

"The room at the end of the hall is my study. This room..."—he pointed to the nearest room from the stairs—"is my room. You can choose between those two vacant rooms."

"Ohh?"

So they wouldn't share a room?

"Say, Xinyi. Did you just think that we will sleep on the same bed?" He teased her again. "Oh, my. Didn't know you really wanted to jump on me at any given chance."

His brows flickered up and down in tease.

Lu Xinyi was caught by surprise and didn't react. It took her several seconds before sinking on her what he had said.

"Your shamelessness astounds me." She huffed before taking her luggage from his hand and walked towards the vacant room next to his study.

"Lu Xinyi," Shen Yi took her chin and tilted it up so she could look at him. Her brown eyes widened as she stared back at him with an innocent face. "Never forget that I see you as a woman."

They stared on each other's eyes for three seconds before he felt her pushing him away.

Shen Yi was left in the hallway, grinning like an idiot. Her expression was priceless, and he couldn't get enough of her.

After Lu Xinyi closed her door, she slowly leaned her back against it. She let go of her luggage and Shen Yi's shirt. She let her knees give way, and she slid down in a squatting position on the floor. Hiding her face in her folded arms, she took a deep breath and sighed.

In privacy of her own space, Lu Xinyi tried to slow down the pace of her heartbeat.

"Shen Yi, what am I going to do with you?"

Shen Yi opened his room and threw himself on his massive bed. Staring up at the ceiling, he wondered how Lu Xinyi could change his boring and lifeless life now that they were married.

He liked teasing her, but he knew whenever he spent more time with her, his self-control was put to a test. What would be her reaction if he told her he desired her?

In just a week, Shen Yi couldn't believe that she had this much effect on him. Although right now all he wanted to do was to hold her in his arms and protect her from anyone who wants to hurt her, Shen Yi restrained himself.

He would not force himself on Lu Xinyi. Not like this. She just got over from heartbreak and was still vulnerable. She needed more time to heal and move on. Maybe if he'd met her earlier and didn't have to do a contractual marriage, he could fall in love with her first before marrying her.
