Golden rays of the sun washed into the bedroom, brightening up the room, telling the two occupants of the bed that it was already morning. Lu Xinyi's head was lying on the well-muscled chest of her husband. Her hands splayed on his torso as she slept soundly with her body pressed against his.

It had been two weeks since their wedding night after his business trip at City H. After coming back to the capital city, Shen Yi had requested her to move into the master bedroom with him. Since then, they stopped their pretense and had admitted that they cared for each other.

Shen Yi's eyelids stirred as the light hit them. His eyes slowly opened to adjust to the sudden change within the room. His head immediately turned to where his wife lay. A small smile crossed his lips, lights flickering in his eyes.

He still found it surprising that Lu Xinyi hadn't come to her senses and left him. He didn't think that he could let her go so easily when he'd just found her. He curled his arm around her, his thumb rubbing her shoulder.

His wife wasn't a morning person, but there were times that he woke up not seeing her by his side. Ever since then, Lu Xinyi made sure that she would stay in bed with him until he came around from his slumber.

She insisted to use her cute pajamas instead of those new nightdresses he'd given her. Sometimes, Shen Yi wondered if he married a woman or a kid. She was so childish at times.

Lu Xinyi hummed softly and adjusted her position on his chest. His hand found her long locks, his lips placing a chaste kiss on her forehead. She groaned silently as her brown eyes fluttered open, only to see her husband watching her sleep.

"Morning," she murmured, her eyes meeting his.

"Good morning," Shen Yi replied, his arm snaking around her body while he adjusted himself so he could kiss her properly. "Did you sleep well?"

"Hmm…yeah, at least you didn't snore last night."

"I don't snore," he denied. Lu Xinyi giggled.

"You're up early."

"It's already Monday. I need to go early," he sighed.

"Why is it that Monday is so far from Friday, and yet Friday is so near to Monday?" she pouted. "I hate Mondays."

Lu Xinyi hummed as she felt his hand sliding on her sides.

"I have no idea." Shen Yi chuckled.

"You should go and prepare. You'll be late."

His reply was to hug her tight before rolling over her, one hand on her hips the other running up and down on her side.

"The company will be fine for a day without me. Besides no one can fire the boss, right?"

His phone rang, but Shen Yi ignored it.

"Did you hear something?" Lu Xinyi asked while Shen Yi peppered her neck with kisses.

"My name in a moment," he whispered against her skin.

It was only after an hour later when they laid spent, with him on his back and Lu Xinyi curled on his side. His phone rang again, breaking the comfortable silence between them.

"You have to take it," Lu Xinyi said. She was already getting used to his sudden meetings. "It might be important."

Shen Yi groaned but nevertheless picked up his phone and answered it. Staring on the screen, he saw it was Qiao He.

"What is it?"

Silence.

"I thought you said it will be tomorrow afternoon." Shen Yi sat up and ran a hand on his hair in frustration. A sharp exhale escaped his lips as he looked at the clock on his table.

"Fine. I will be there in an hour," he snapped before disconnecting the call.

"So boss can't decide for himself, eh. Just one call from his assistant and he has to obey." Lu Xinyi said sarcastically. She watched him reaching on his side, grabbing a pair of boxers and slipping them on. He then walked towards their shared walk-in closet and took some clothes for work.

When he came back, Lu Xinyi was still on the bed, smiling back to him. He took a brief kiss from her before heading to the bathroom.
