Living As A Demon In A Post - Apocalyptic World

Zena walked into an aisle and took a bag of ch.i.p.s from the rack and walked over to the child and knelt down.

'Here, hope you like it..' A small growl sounded out, causing the child to look up in fright.

Zena smiled and placed the bag of ch.i.p.s near the child, then stood and looked around for something inside the gas station.

'Ha, I found it, now I can probably pass for a human…' Looking at her claws, she sighed and wished they could retract, and then they did.

Her dark claws slowly slid inward and her hands lost the rigidness that normally accompanied them in her clawed state.

Putting on some shades, she looked at her reflection in the glass and saw an otherworldly beauty staring back, eyes covered and clad in black combat clothes.

'System, how can I advance in ranks quickly? Zena snorted and asked her hateful system.

'What is a Space?' Zena asked, mildly curious about what it meant.

'You said today? Not ever, meaning that they're more superpowers to come?' She smiled with a shit eating grin as the system went quiet for a moment.

Zena smiled in disbelief as which courses through her entire being.

I got all that for paying attention?

Zena shivered unconsciously while pondering something.

'My system is able to hand out tenth rank nuclei like candy, so that means where it's from, rank ten is nothing.'

Zena pursed her lips and was about to ask the system more when a soft tugging force appeared on the hem of her sleeve.

She looked down and saw the human child tugging on her sleeve, her first instinct was to yank her sleeve away, but seeing the pouting expression on the child's face, she couldn't bring herself to do it, until she heard a word that nearly restarted her dead heart.

"Mommy?"

Zena gave a weak smile as a soft hiss escaped her lips.

'I'm not married nor am I a mother… unless this body is her mom!'

A wave of memories jolted Zena's brain, causing her to slump to the floor, rendered unconscious.
