Long Live System

After chatting a bit with his aunt, he was left on his own again and though about what he was going to do the next day. At first he wanted to spend the morning cultivating his qi and body, and the afternoon in the dungeon using his skills in real combat and getting xp and loot. But meeting Bing was more important, not only because he targeted her as a member of his harem, but also because he would receive the Thorny Flower from her.

With the previous talk about the spirit awakening pill, the supposed visit of his uncle and the coming meeting with Bing, Samuel though went back to something he had neglected during his first few days in LLS universe. The chronology of events, and how much details he remembered about them.

Because he was too weak to do anything about anything, he had put it at the back of his mind. Since meeting Bing was a significant event in the plot, he couldn't help but think of the future key events as well. It was impossible to remember all the details about a story unless one was a big fan. While Samuel had enjoyed LLS a lot, it wasn't to the point to check wikis and discussion forums about it, and aside from a few interesting chapters, he didn't reread it. There was still plenty of other things to read on the net, and games to play. He couldn't focus on just LLS.

He focused on the closest events he remembered, those happening in White Stone City, what he considered the first arc of the story.

'After aquiring the thorny flower and the quintet mices, fictional Yue Yang would achieve innate qi, meet Empress Fei Wen Li in her prison, and receive Xiao Wen Li (and her 3 water based contracted beasts). He would register at the mercenary guild and the assassin guild, meet Yi Nan, kill some bad guys and receive the gratitude of the girls from the a.d.u.l.t business, fight some bad guys at a high class restaurant with Yi Nan, get the barbarian cow shadow, cut the hand of a demon lord, get Hui Tai Lang, and go to Tong Tian Tower to search for Bing.'

'There isn't much I can change at this point. I can help Bing improving so that when she is ambushed in the future she will be able to last longer. I want to catch the sneaky demon worshiper guy that would be observing and get his grimoire. And that would put me in a position to fight in the demon realm and impress Luo Hua when she used her decree. Yes, got to train for that too. There isn't much to do about Yi Nan either, except making a strong and positive impression on her. She certainly seemed fun to tease as well, so not too positive impression.'

'At the battle at the high class restaurant, I want the barbarian cow, but I won't let the demon worshiper summon the demon lord. I don't feel like sacrificing so many lives just for a hand when I can get plenty of benefits from the system and the ID. And without the demon hand, no m.a.s.o.c.h.i.s.t Hui Tai Lang. While he was interesting, I can probably get a good replacement. I'll wait until after that incident to get Fei Wen Li and Xiao Wen Li. This way, I would be stronger, and getting the little loli won't be too taxing on the Empress.'

'As for the girls from the a.d.u.l.t business, unlike fictional Yue Yang, I intend to use them. They would risk their lives to help Xian and Shuang in the future. So the least I could do is give some of them some training and materials to look after my aunt and little cousin from the shadows, and by supporting the rest of the girls, even create my own information network in White Stone City.'

'Heck, I could even get 1 or 2 of them to become my attendants during my travels. They could replace Hui Tai Lang as back up for Bing and the 4 underlings. If I provide them with summoning cristals and beasts, it would be even better. And I would be able to use them to train my massages, accupuncture and maybe first aid skills, and use them for s.e.xy time until at least one of my target girls is conquered. Well, I probably won't stop even after that. Yep, I'm definitly going to do it!'

After spending a few minutes having fantaisies, he calmed down. There was one matter that he could deal with ahead of time with little trouble.

'Even though I have become Yue Yang, I still think of myself as Samuel... Isn't that going to give me some identity trouble in the future in the zodiac challenges? I can't keep being 2 separate people. I'm a broken Yue Yang upgraded with Samuel's soul. I'm different from the original and the fictional, but still a Yue Yang. From now on, I should think of myself as such. Upgraded Yue Yang.'

The next day, while he was cultivating, the maid, who he learned was called Pan Lei, came to tell him his aunt called him. Yang guessed that Bing had arrived and eagerly went to the living room. He saw his beautiful aunt hugging a black clothed girl with a veil on her face, which she removed to greet the family.

Yue Bing was 15 years old, but she was already quite pretty. However, seeing her clothes, he was reminded of her unfortunate status. She had been married by proxy to a son of the Feng family, who died in battle against a beast. She became a widow without even entering the guy's family, and was thus seen as bad omen. Noone wanted to marry her. And because she only had high affinity for plant type beast, the least liked type of beast, she was looked down upon.

After hugging her mother and sister, she turned to Yang. At that time, his heart really went to her, and he couldn't help but instantly like her. However, she was a bit distant because his predecessor had been the same to her. Still, he pated her head with a small smile, making her blush.

"It's good to meet you Bing."

"Ah... Yes, it's good to see you well brother Yang."

As they sat down at the table to eat, Bing tried to start a conversation with him.

"Brother, what kind of guardian beast did you receive?"

"Your mother asked me the same question, and I told her that I wanted to keep it to myself for the time being, because it's both an unusual beast, and also very usefull. I'm wary of some members of the Clan, that's why I'm keeping it secret. I'm sorry to say, but I'm not sure you or aunt Xian would be able to keep it secret if the clan master or the elders asked you. You are good girls so it would be hard for you to refuse or lie. So if they did ask, it would be best if you really didn't know. I promise I'll tell you some time in the future, when things with the rest of the Clan becomes less tense."

"Is that so? I didn't know things were so complicated for you."

"In life, sometimes things are simple, sometimes they are complicated, and most of the time it's both."

"I didn't know my San-er had become so wise."

"What about you Bing-er, what kind of beast do you have?"

"I only have fighting-types plants, my Treant Warrior, which is my guardian beast, and a Spitting Thorny Flower. Because of my guardian beast and being only part-time student, I only studied fighting-types. If your guardian beast isn't one, I won't be able to help you. Otherwise, I could teach you basic summoning skills to summon a Spitting Thorny Flower, but that would use a page of your grimoire."

"It's okay. From what I know, with each rank we gain a page in our grimoire. Using one at the start for a training beast isn't a problem."

Yang knew he would receive a beast of high potential so he was eager. He also looked forward to training with Bing, either to learn from her or teach her. Bing wasn't talkative so she resumed eating her food. After lunch, Bing followed him to the courtyard near his wing of the residence.

Bing summoned her grimoire, it was advanced copper rank, 2 ranks higher than his, but he wasn't worried about that. She proceeded to give him the spitting thorny flower. She told him he had to receive it in his mind, as she touched his grimoire with hers. Yang's grimoire suddenly opened and the pages turned to a previously empty one where an ill.u.s.tration of the beast appeared. The description bellow read "Spitting Thorny Flower - Fighting Type - Level 1 - Uncontracted

Yue Yang felt a connection within himself, and feeling some kind of call, he answered it while his hand touched the ill.u.s.tration. The next moment, there was a bright flash, and knowledge related to the beast entered his mind.

[You have successfully contracted a Spitting Thorny Flower. +500 credits]

Yue Bing was speechless, her eyes wide open. She hadn't explained how to make a contract with a plant type beast, and he didn't use any summoning incantation. She started to doubt the words about her cousin being a loser, and decided to observe more. Though Yang knew she was impressed, he remembered at least that much from the beginning of the novel.

He didn't wait for her to summon it, as he was abit excited to do his first beast summoning. A branch of it. He remembered that it had the skill "division propagation" to keep the main body in the grimoire, and that without using the skill "take root" it would wither after running out of energy. So after summoning the branch, he used a mental command throught the link to make it take root.

Bing was positively schocked, eyes and mouth wide open. She though that her cousin was a genius, not only with the telepatic summon, but she also noticed when it took root.

"The face you're making now is priceless" he said while chuckling.

She tried to change her expression as if nothing happened, but her burning face, neck and ears spoiled her efforts.

"Not bad for a beginner, don't you think?"

"Y-Your summoning speed is a little low, but since it's your firs time it's okay I guess..."

Smiling, he put an arm around her shoulders, while she had her head turned away, and held her close. It made her even more embarrassed, because she wasn't used to skinship with her cousin, or any guy.

"Yes, yes, I understand. You're super impressed, but you can't let me get c.o.c.ky, right? It wouldn't be good. Please carry on with the lesson, teacher Bing! I'll be a good student!"

He was enjoying teasing her. Still, while embarrased, she continued to teach him. He learned how to attack, with either "poison spit" or a regular bite. He synchronised with his beast for targetting, and gave the signal to attack through their link. Bing had even summoned her flower to show him. As expected, she had her mind blown away byhis aptitude and was working hard to remain calm most of the time.

"Now that I got used to commanding one beast, what about 2?"

As he said that, he used "division propagation" once more. It was for Bing's benefit since she didn't know such a usefull skill for plant summons. He remembered that the instructor at the academy demanded a lot of money to teach those skills, and he didn't want Bing to suffer because of their greed.

After schocking her once again, he told her about all the skills possible except corpse feeding. She was quite eager to learn "division propagation", and he happily obliged, not forgetting to tease her about the change of position between teacher and student. Her reactions were just to cute to pass.

He took his time to explain, with as muchdetails as he could.

She managed it on the first try, but it took a lot of energy and effort for her. But she was so happy with her success that she didn't mind the hug he gave her. Yang was quite happy to hold her, feeling her body against his, and the volume and softness of her bust. He looked forward to the times where he would be able to feel more of her. When he released her, he gave her a kiss on the forehead, and enjoyed her reaction.

When she asked about his knowledge of the plant skills, he told her it was a by-product of his inherent skill, which he kept secret for the same reason as the guardian beast. They chatted a bit more before putting an end to their training session. Bing was thoroughly impressed by her cousin at that time, and he didn't even reveal everything he wanted her to know. It would be stupid to spill everything right from the start.
