Love Is My Saviour

Chapter 12 - Last Day Before Saying Bye

The next day, Belle woke up early and prepared a breakfast buffet. It was a scene scrumptious to feast on. Jay woke up to the fresh smell of bread and grilling sound of pancakes. He walked into the kitchen and had a surprise. Nobody has ever made him food like that before.

"Sit and eat. I hope you enjoy it. You have brought me joy for the past few days, this is just the b.a.r.e minimum that I can do. After breakfast, go wash up. I've another surprise for you. Today is my treat."

Jay was overwhelmed at this point of time. Nobody has ever planned anything out for him before. His heart fluttered even more. "Belle, thank you. You didn't have to but you did. I'm gonna try this pancake and eat that Egg Benedict."

After breakfast, they both washed up and headed out.

"Where are we going?"

"It's a secret. You will find out once you reached. First, pass me your car keys."

They drove for 2 hours and when they reached, they were greeted with a scenery never to forget. They were by the seaside.

"We are here. You have always said you love the seaside but never had the time to go."

"Belle, you remembered." Jay whisperers to himself while feeling touched. He leaned towards Belle and pulled her into a hug. They looked at each other and Jay closed in for a kiss.

Belle immediately pulled away and said "Jay, I cant. I can't do this". With tears building up in her eyes, Belle started walking away.

Jay was stunned at her reaction. After a few minutes he ran after her. "Why? The past few days were the best time of my life. I felt a very strong connection to you. I have feelings for you. Don't you feel the same?"

Just as he confessed how he felt, he saw Belle crying uncontrollably. "Belle, what's wrong? Why are you crying? Is it because of me? I'm sorry, I didn't mean to."

"It's not you. I can't do this. I'm not ready." Belle then poured her heart out telling Jay she just got out of a relationship. She kept it simple without the details.

Jay clenched his fist and anger started to form. He thought to himself, "Who dares to hurt her like that! She's so hurt. So sad. But there's nothing I can do".

They both sat in silence for the next 3 hours. They just stared into the ocean and enjoyed the breeze. Jay didn't know how to comfort her and at the same time wanted to punch himself for confessing at the wrong time.

"I'm sorry. I wanted you to have a good day today but it turned out opposite. Let's go home. Can you drive? I'm not in the condition to drive."

They both drove home in silence. Finally Jay couldn't take it and tried to start a conversation. "Are you hungry? I know a place that serves good pasta".

"Thanks but let's go home. You can have dinner. I'll skip".

Plan failed and they drove home in silence.

Reaching home, Belle went to her room and didn't come out the whole night. Jay, just sat in the living room staring at her room door thinking how to bring things back to normal. Little did he know, Belle was packing up.

It was 4 am, Belle crept out of the room and prepared a sandwich. She wrapped the sandwich up and placed a present and a letter next to it. She then proceed to take her bags and walked towards the door.

She stopped and looked around. Whispering to herself, "I will miss you but I'm not ready. You deserve someone better than me. I'm just a passerby."

Belle closed the door and left.
