Love Is So Sweet

Chapter 53 - The end of a dream

The moment Lisa entered her house her whole body shivered in fear. She couldn't understand what was happening to her. Her confusion and anxiety simply made her even more scared. As she was spiraling she heard her mother's voice.

"Lisa, are you alright? Are you hurt?" Lisa's mother then hugged her daughter and patted her back. Lisa was about to say that she was confused and scared by this uncertain feeling she was having, but the moment she opened her mouth different words came out.

"Randy's leaving, he's leaving me, mom." Lisa was surprised by the words that came out of her mouth. Though she wanted to say something else, the moment she said those words it felt like that was the right thing to say as she unconsciously cried.

"Don't cry my little one. Tell me everything that happened."

...

After heading to the table and telling her mom everything, Lisa was finally able to calm down a bit.

"I see, it's not like Randolph is leaving you because he wants to. Also, it's not like you two won't ever meet again." Hearing what her mom said made sense logically but Lisa just couldn't accept it on an emotional level. She still felt like she was betrayed and at the same time, she understood what Randolph was going through.

"So you better call Randolph and the two of you should have a proper talk before he leaves." Lisa's mom smiled at her daughter and gently hugged her before standing up.

Lisa was about to call Randolph but before she could do so, she heard someone entered the house. She then looked at who it was and saw her father talking to her mom with a serious expression. Lisa tried to eavesdrop but their voices were too soft to be heard in the distance.

Lisa then saw her father showing a resolute face while her mother was trying to stop herself from crying.

'Are mom and dad going to get divorced?!' Lisa who was calming down after panicking because of the situation with Randolph was now feeling anxious again.

"Mom, dad is everything alright?" Lisa approached the two with caution.

"It's nothing, I was just telling your mom about something that happened at work. It's nothing of concern." Lisa's father answered while loosening his tie.

"Then why are you tearing up mom?" Lisa didn't buy the answer given to her.

"Oh, that, there was just some dirt in my eyes. I'm sorry for worrying you, honey." Lisa's mom gently smiled at her daughter while scratching her eyes.

"I see..." Lisa was still not convinced by that explanation but forcing it won't get her any answers.

"Well since you're dad is here why don't we go eat, dinner will be ready in ten minutes." Lisa's mom hurried back to the kitchen while her father went upstairs to change clothes. Lisa was left alone in the front doorway still confused as to what happened. She then decided to call Randolph after dinner.

...

After a short wait dinner was ready and the three family members gathered to eat. Lisa's mom was forcing out a smile as the three silently ate. Once they were done eating Lisa was about head up to her room and call Randolph, but as she stood up her mom stopped her.

"Wait a minute, there's a special tea that I want the three of us to drink." Lisa's mom spoke while heading to the kitchen.

Lisa once again sat down and looked at her father who also waited for her mom to come back with the special tea.

"Here it is, I hope you guys like it." Lisa's mom handed each of them a glass of tea. The moment Lisa saw the tea the feeling of dread once again enveloped her.

"Before everyone drinks, I just want to say that I'm happy to have this time with both of you. Also, Lisa, I hope you understand I do everything because I love you." Lisa's father who was quiet all the while suddenly spoke.

"Huh? What are you saying, dad?" Lisa's dad who always had a serious expression on his face looked at her with sad gentle eyes.

"It's nothing, I just wanted to say I love you and your mom very much. So let's get to drinking." Lisa's father answered.

The three of them were about to drink, but before they did Lisa found the smell of the tea to be weird. But not drinking it might make her mom feel bad. So Lisa took a little sip and found the tase to be extremely bad. It was that moment she decided to pretend that she was drinking the rest and once the coast was clear she would throw the tea into the sink.

Seeing their daughter finally drinking the tea the two parents looked at each other for one last time before drinking the tea. Once the group were done drinking the tea, Lisa went to the kitchen and tossed the contents of her glass into the sink.

"Hey, Lisa how about we watch a movie. We haven't done that in a while." Lisa's father suddenly suggested.

"Yeah, let's do that." Lisa's mother answered without hesitation.

Lisa was getting even more confused, why were her parents acting this way? Even though she was confused she still decided to watch a movie with her parents.

...

The three watched a marathon of movies and after the third movie, Lisa was going to tell her parents that the next one should be the last one. Yet when she looked at the two she noticed that their eyes were closed.

It was at that moment she felt a bit dizzy as well. Lisa then shook her mom and dad telling them to wake up.

"Mom? Dad?" Lisa was confused as no matter how much she shook them there was no response. Lisa then placed her fingers below her mom's nose. To her surprise, her mom wasn't breathing she then quickly checked her father as well and he too wasn't breathing. After which she checked both their pulses and she couldn't feel their hearts beating.

Lisa then took out her phone and dialed the emergency number. She was now crying confused and scared unable to figure out what was happening. Someone finally answered her call and she quickly spoke in a panic.

"My mom and dad are not breathing! Help me please!" While talking to the person that was to dispatch an ambulance Lisa felt like her head was about to split open. She could no longer feel her hands as they went numb. She was truly scared as her vision became blurry.

She felt that breathing was becoming harder and harder, it was like she was drowning. She was frightened at the amount of pain she was feeling.

"Lisa! Lisa!" As her unconscious was fading she heard a voice that sounded familiar but at the same time not. She didn't want to die this way, she wanted to live!

"NOOOOOOO!" Lisa burst upward and her breathing slowly came back as her vision became a bit clearer. She noticed that she was no longer in their living room.

"Lisa, you're finally awake." Lisa saw a handsome man sitting beside her bed looking very worried at her. At first, she couldn't understand what was happening but then she remembered who that man was.

"Jun..."
