Love Is So Sweet

The following day after Lisa was cleared on the EEG test she was discharged from the hospital. While Jun was helping Lisa in the hospital as there were waiting for Lisa's doctor, Jeniffer and Matthew arrived. The two came together as Matthew picked up Jennifer at her apartment. While Jennifer came to cheer Lisa up, Matthew simply came to see what was going on with Lisa and Jun. He was doing this not because of his own curiosity but because of the promise he made with Edrea the other day.

"Matthew you know what happened to Jun right?" 

"Yeah, I know this isn't something I should say, but I hope you can move on Rea. You and Jun are my best friends in the whole world and I really want you two to be happy. So I  truly hope you can move on from this." Matthew spoke as sincere as he could and Edrea reacted by clenching her fist. 

"You know I can't do that... Jun is everything to me. He was mine and mine alone and someone suddenly swoops in and takes him from me. I did everything for him, from changing the way I speak to the way I dress. I did it all to become Jun's ideal girl! I was the one who was with him since the beginning, I was the one who put in the effort! Yet why?! Do you not understand what I'm feeling!" Edrea eyes were tearing up as she told Matthew what was in her heart. 

"Rea... Of course, I know how you felt about Jun. I've been with you guys since elementary and I've seen all the effort you put in... But, I know for a fact that Jun would never look your way. He already has someone for him and she's a nice girl. If you truly love Jun, then you should let him be happy. So I hope you too can move on and find your own happiness."

"Heh, are you actually falling for that b*tch's act? What do you mean Jun's happiness, those two are obviously faking it." Matthew couldn't help but sigh as Edrea just wouldn't give up.

"Now you're just making things up. I've seen the two of them together, and that's the first time I saw Jun show such varied expressions. He even lost his cool at one point, that's something I haven't seen happen since that day ten years ago."

"Fine, if you won't believe me then you ask Jun about the truth. If you push him a bit he would tell you. You're one of the few people Jun truly trusts, so I'm sure you can get the truth out of him." 

"Edrea-" 

"If you do this and he truly says that he and that girl are truly in love then I'll try to move on... But if it turns out that their relationship is nothing but a ruse then I want you to help me win Jun over."

"Edrea I-" Matthew was about to reject her request, but then Edrea suddenly grab hold of Matthew's hands.

"Please Matt, can you do this for me? I'm your friend right?" Seeing Edrea's expression made Matthew uncomfortable. 

"Damn it... Fine, I'll help you find out the truth. But if it turns out that you're wrong, I hope you keep your end of the promise."

"Yes, of course, I will! I just want to know the truth. If they truly are in love and together willingly for as long as she makes Jun happy then I'll step back... But if it's not true and all of it is just a trick then I hope you keep your end of the promise." Edrea's eyes then turned serious as she said the last line. 

"..." Matthew was actually intimidated by Edrea's look. 

"Matthew promise me that you'll help me if their relationship turns out to be fake. Promise me!"

"Alright, I promise."

"Thank you, Matt." Seeing Edrea's grateful expression didn't elevate the weird feeling of guilt Matthew had. 

'It's going to be alright, Jun really likes this girl. I'm sure their relationship isn't fake like Rea thinks.'

Back in the present while Jeniffer and Lisa were talking, Matthew came close to Jun and was about to speak, but Jun beat him to it. 

"Matt, I need to talk to you." Jun looked at Matthew with a very serious expression.

"Okay, what do you want to talk about?" Hearing Matthew's question Jun looked at Jeniffer and Lisa before looking back at Matthew. 

"We need to speak somewhere else." After saying that to Matthew, Jun turned to speak to Jeniffer and Lisa. "Hey, you two, Matthew and I are going out to buy some drinks what do you want?" 

"I want a soda," Jeniffer replied while Lisa shook her head.

"Nothing for me." 

"Roger that." Jun showed an a-ok sign as he and Matthew left the room. The two walked to the nearby vending machine and once Jun looked around and saw no one passing by he started talking. 

"Matthew I think I'm truly in love with Lisa and I don't really know what to do." 

"Huh? I already know that you're in love man... Also, you don't know what to do, aren't the two of you already dating?" Jun was slightly l.i.c.k.i.n.g his lips as he hesitated to answer. 

"... Right, I forgot... Matt, what I'm about to tell you is a secret. I want you to promise me that you won't tell anybody what I'm about to tell you." 

"What secret?"

"I'll tell you once you promise me that you'll keep what I'm about to tell you to yourself. You aren't allowed to tell my mom, my brother, or Edrea especially Edrea. Nobody must know what I'm about to tell you, can you promise me this?"

Matthew was feeling slightly pressured and confused by Jun's aggressive stance. The past week has been weird, first Edrea and now Jun was trying to extract a promise from him. 

"Fine, I promise I won't tell anybody else. So what's this all about?" Jun sighed first before answering. 

"Lisa and I aren't actually dating."
