Love Will Lead You Back

On the 3rd day of being together, they will go on a picnic. But all Cheng Ze's preparation had gone to waste after he received a phone call from his father. He asked him to attend two important meetings, one during lunch hours and another, around five in the afternoon. After that, he will then attend a ball in the evening in his fathers' place. Li Wei arranged everything as Chairman Gu's instructions.

He was utterly disappointed that he has to leave her and a day was lost for them, "Ji An, I'm sorry..." he doesn't know where or how to start explaining, "We can't do a picnic today. I have some important matters to attend to." His disappointment was written all over his face and voice. "I'll be home very late in the evening, don't wait for me, If there is something you want to do or place to visit—"

Ji An cut him off, "It's okay. I understand." She smiled at him. "You go ahead and do the things you have to do. I'm fine here." The assurance she gave him was not enough to stop his disappointment and worry about her. "I'll just review my stuff. You know... I have to go back to Uni soon. You don't have to worry about me at all. We can do a picnic tomorrow or on Friday." She gave him a warm smile.

He hugged her and kissed her forehead. "I'll try to come home early. I have to go now. See you later in the evening I hope, otherwise, it will be in the morning." For a moment they seemed like a husband and wife having an intimate moment.

He left headed to his car and Ji An waved at him as she smiled sweetly like a wife sending her husband to work, he smiled back at her and entered his car and drove straight to the office where the meeting will be held. Li Wei was already there waiting for him.

At the villa, Ji An decided to give her friend Alice a call asking her how she was everything else. She asked her to send through email the things she needed to review for the exams she will be taking once she gets back to uni. For not calling her immediately, she apologised and explained herself as to why she hadn't made a call in the past days with the excuse of "she was preoccupied with something."

Alice teased her, "With something? Or someone?" she then went on telling her that it everything was okay but she got worried when she left the hotel. After calling the hotel, she found out that she had already checked out. She got curious as to where she was staying and if she will still leave Beijing on Saturday.

Ji An apologised to her friend for making her worry about her. She confirmed that she had indeed left the hotel early and told her that something happened but she doesn't have to worry because she is safe. Also confirming that she will still leave on Saturday and that she should pick her up from the airport.

Alice cannot hold her curiosity anymore, she has to ask Ji An, "I'm sorry for being nosy, but... did you see him?" she was referring to Cheng Ze. "Have you talked to him?"

"I'll tell you everything when I get back." Ji An giggled and felt giddy. "I'm just enjoying my stay here." referring to Cheng Ze's villa, but her friend doesn't know that.

"Be careful okay. Take care of our little guy inside you. I miss you. Can't wait to see you on Saturday. See ya. Bye!" Alice was happy and she felt relaxed after speaking to her friend, she felt at ease that she was okay.

Ji An said her goodbyes too and hang up. After a few minutes, she received the email from Alice and she didn't waste any time to review them. She spent her morning and afternoon studying.

She cooked her own food, ate, watched a movie and still felt bored and felt like something was missing. As she lay down in bed, Cheng Ze's scent was there and she felt happy and giddy inhaling the manly scent from the bed. Realising what she was doing, she uttered, "Oh my god! What am I doing? No! This can't be happening." she stood up, "Take him out of your mind Ji An! I have to focus on studying. Nothing can happen between us!"

She studied in bed until she fell asleep. It was already 9 pm when she woke up. Cheng Ze isn't back yet and she felt a little hungry. After checking the cupboards in the kitchen, she was glad to find cup noodles in one of them. Since she was alone, she didn't bother to prepare a proper meal, instead, she took the cup noodles and prepared it for herself.

After devouring the noodles, she went back to bed to study. Around one in the morning, she heard some noise from downstairs. She went to the door to greet Cheng Ze and tell him off for coming home late. As she was opening the door her mouth started to throw words, "You are so dead—" But after opening the door, she was taken aback, it was a woman who was holding Cheng Ze, he was completely drunk murmuring something she couldn't understand.

The woman has a surprised look on her face after seeing her, "Who are you?" she was struggling as Cheng Ze was moving making it hard for her to carry him.

Ji An threw a question back instead of answering the woman, "Why are you with Cheng Ze? And why is he in this state? What happened?" her voice was surprised and annoyed.

"Why are you in his house? I am his girlfriend!" She replied confidently, "Are you his sister? Can you help me?"

"Girlfriend? He never mentioned a girlfriend to me? And you are?" Her voice has a tinge of jealousy and her eyebrow raised at the woman.

"Lori Shen. He asked me to bring him home. Please help me, he's incredibly heavy." she was really struggling to keep him up, if she let him go, he will definitely fall on the ground.

"Give him to me and get lost!" She glared at Lori and took Cheng Ze from her. He was quite heavy so she lay him down on the sofa and went back to the door. "Goodnight Ms Shen. Thank you for bringing him home." She didn't wait for Lori to reply, she just shut the door with a loud "BANG".

She tried to wake Cheng Ze up by slapping his face gently, "Cheng Ze wake up." At first, she tried to wake him up nicely, but after she remembered what Lori said, "I am his girlfriend", her jealousy kicked in and went to the kitchen and filled a jug with cold water, when she returned to the living room where Cheng Ze is lying, she poured cold water on him and shouted, "GET UP!"

The cold water woke him up, he opened his eyes and he can see Ji An's angry face, "Babe, why are you angry? You didn't miss me?" He tried to touch her face but failed as he was still drunk and can't control his actions.
