Love Will Lead You Back

On the other side of the world, Cheng Ze was frustrated and shouted at Li Wei, "Find her!!!" He threw all the doc.u.ments Li Wei handed to him on the floor.

As he picked up the doc.u.ments on the floor, he couldn't help but ask Cheng Ze, "Can you ask Madam if she has her old address? I Can start from there. I have been looking and there are people watching the hotel and the area but nothing." His frustration was worse than his boss as he has to shoulder all the blame.

He gave Li Wei a deadly look, "I don't need her help. You will find her as soon as possible." His voice was determined as well as frustrated.

"If you really want to find her, you will swallow your god damn pride and gather all the help you can. She is the only person who can help you right now. This is your friend talking not your assistant." Li Wei firmly stated as he placed all the doc.u.ments on Cheng Ze's desk in such a manner that he never used to.

Gu Cheng Ze looked outside the window of his office with his hands in his pockets, staring blankly outside, he inhaled deeply like he was considering what Li Wei suggested. "Okay, I get it! I need some time. I know she will ask something in return." His voice mellowed down and the miserable look in his eyes vanished.

During breakfast at Gu mansion, Cheng Ze was wearing his usual expression when he started a conversation with his father, "Father, I want to go to Europe."

Gu Feng looked at his son, "The company needs you and you've been there a few months back!" He turned the next page of the newspaper he was reading and didn't pay much attention to his son who was still on the subject.

"We should expand the business to Europe. I just have to visit and see if it's doable." He sounded reasonable therefore, he was hoping that his father will agree and he will depart as soon as he can to look for Ji An.

"I will think about it." Gu Feng grunted, "Focus on Tangxin for now, hmm." The subject has ended there and he moved on to another, Gu Feng cough slightly before continuing, "Your birthday is coming up and I arranged a party for you. You are already 22, you should bring home a woman for me to meet or else I'll arrange it for you." He felt he was getting old and having grandchildren in the house will be a good sight. Everything is not just about money, he treasured his family so much, especially now that Mei Li and he were together along with his son.

He didn't like the idea of his father meddling with his personal business, "Father!!! I already have a woman in mind. You don't have to interfere and be bothered about it." Besides, the only woman for him is his beloved Ji An who he wanted to look for.

Madam Gu's loving voice joined the conversation, "Cheng Ze, your father wants grandchildren. I know you are still young, but give it a thought. If you have a woman now, after a few years you can get married and have kids." Gu Meiling explained and smiled at her husband while they held each other's hand.

He looked at the elders and their hands before asking Madam Gu, "Can I speak with you Mother?... alone." In a soft and polite tone.

Gu Feng and Gu Meiling looked at each other once more. This is the first time he spoke like that to her as usually he is a snob or he will disregard her. She didn't hesitate and stood up and head to the study.

After Cheng Ze shut the door, "I only have one question... Do you know Ji An's address??" He again spoke in a soft and polite voice. Obviously he doesn't want his stepmother to get angry or mad at him, he needed her cooperation to find Ji An.

Madam Gu was a little puzzled as to why he needs to know that, but she put it aside and just asked, "Why are you looking for my daughter? Is she in trouble?" with that question, she got a little worried for her daughter.

He doesn't want to alert her of what happened because he himself doesn't know what exactly happened and why she left like that, "No, I have to discuss some matters with her. It's really urgent." Gu Cheng Ze explained shortly and simply so that she will not be suspicious of him.

She has thought the worst, but since it's just something between them, perhaps he will apologise to her daughter, then it's okay with her, "Okay. I'll give it to you, but this is their address from some years ago. I don't know if she still lives there." Madam Gu wrote down the address in a notepad.

Cheng Ze couldn't believe it, he only asked once and she was willing to give it with nothing in return. She didn't even nag him about the party and the woman his father was talking about earlier.

After writing it down she gave the piece of paper with the address to Cheng Ze. "Let me know if you see her." She then left and didn't look back, but really, if he managed to see or contact her, she will feel better.

Cheng Ze called Li Wei urgently and gave the address to him so they can check the place as soon as possible. He doesn't want to waste any more time. If she is there, he will fly to London immediately to talk to her and clear everything. He might be able to bring her back to Beijing if things go well.

London

Li Wei had Ji Ans old house checked. Its been sold 5 months ago. It's a dead-end again. She's nowhere in sight. Li Wei worried that Cheng Ze will behave like a madman again. If only he took a phone number from the woman that day at the hotel, finding Ji An will be a lot easier. But how can Li Wei predict this will happen. Li Wei has to deliver the bad news to his boss and he is not quite sure how his boss will react.

"Boss she is not there. Her house has been sold 5 months ago. There is no lead and it's a dead end. How should we proceed?" Li Wei calmly delivered the information.

"Okay!" The expression on his face was unusual as if it doesn't bother him anymore.

'Okay??? Is that it? He is fine?' His thoughts were protesting but his mouth says different, "Anything else boss?"

Cheng Ze just left his office without taking Li Wei with him. He went in a bar drowning himself in alcohol. "Where the hell are you Ji An? Why did you leave me once again without telling me anything?..." he took his glass and drank the contents.

Lori saw Cheng Ze alone in the bar. She left her group of girlfriends and head to Cheng Ze. The smell of alcohol coming from him was so strong, he really had a lot of drinks and was really drunk. She called Li Wei to save his boss and take him home.

While waiting for Li Wei, Lori kept him company and talked to him, "Why are you doing this Cheng Ze? What's wrong?" She was really concerned about him. This is worse, much worse than the last time she took him to his villa.

Cheng Ze looked at her trying to recognise her., focusing his eyes on her face, he thinks he is seeing Ji An. "Why did you leave? Have I done something?" He put his hand on her head and kissed Lori intimately.

Lori's friend witnessed his passionate kiss and made them gasped in shock. Li Wei was surprised too, he just arrived and that was the scene. He hurriedly went over to where they were. "Ms Lori thank you for calling me. I'll take him home now."

"I'm going. I want to make sure he is okay." She insisted as she thought those words and that kiss was meant for her, she planned to make the most of it while it's being served on her plate.

Li Wei didn't argue and they got in the car. Lori and Cheng Ze are at the back seat. Cheng Ze was leaning on her shoulder while she touches his face. "What is going on with him Li Wei? Why did he get his self so drunk." her love for him was so strong that she will do anything and everything just to be with him and make him hers.

"It's his personal business, Ms Lori." He replied politely with just a few words.

After a 20 minutes drive, they arrived at Gu Residence. Li Wei and Lori took him to his room, "I'll sort him out, Li Wei. You can go. It's okay." she was taking the initiative to have him alone for herself as she already made a plan to guarantee that he will be hers.

Li Wei wasn't sure if it is okay or his boss will be okay with it when he wakes up, he tried to talk it out with Lori, "Ms Lori, it is my duty and my job to serve my boss, don't trouble yourself."

She gave him that look that basically says 'leave or I'll kill you.' "Li Wei, I was his girlfriend, so I think it's okay for me to do this. I'm sure he will not mind. So you can go now." a sly smile was all over her face.

As Li Wei exit the door, Madam Meiling was there. "Who is she? Is she the woman he likes? Leave them alone, you go home and rest." She smiled at him and patted his shoulder.

There is nothing he can do now. Women boxed him in the corner, his boss will be mad angry tomorrow. 'Parents will be happy but not him.' with that thought, he left the Gu residence.
