Love Will Lead You Back

Ji An kept looking for a house quietly. She intend to tell her mother that she's moving when she eventually finds a house she likes. Cheng Ze hasn't been going back to his villa lately. He kept coming home to Gu Residence. He doesn't visit or call Lori and she doesn't call or text him as well.

Eric settled himself in Beijing and he started to show up in the office regularly. Cheng Ze tried so hard to avoid him, every time he remembers what Eric did to Ji An, he has the urge to beat him up. Cheng Ze set up an office for Eric on the floor below his. In that way he shouldn't see his face much except when they're having a meeting which is unavoidable.

Cheng Ze thought it through and he will go ahead with a paternity test without letting Ji An know. He started to hope that Sofia is his and plan on how he can take Sofia out without Ji An knowing where he's taking her.

After 5 days the result had come out and Madam Gu received the letter from the DNA clinic. She went straight to their bathroom and opened the letter.

In the letter, it clearly states that it's a 99.9% matched, Gu Cheng Ze matched Sofia Elise Lewis. They are indeed father and daughter.

The smile in Meiling's face was so wide. She was so happy to finally know that Sofia is indeed Gu Feng's granddaughter. She hugged the letter. She then hid the letter in her favourite book and put it back on the bookshelf in the study room.

During dinner, everyone was present in the table. Madam Gu started talking while they eat. "I feel really happy today. I'm planning to have a party to celebrate Ji An and Sofia's homecoming."

Everybody looked at her. Ji An replied to her statement, "What homecoming mother? I've been here for quite a while now and there is no need for that." 'I'm leaving soon so why bother with a homecoming party?'

Cheng Ze had his opinion about this, "I think it's a good idea! Mother always has the best idea. Sofia, do you want a party to welcome you and your mummy?" This was the first time Cheng Ze agreed with Meiling voluntarily. 

Madam Gu realised that Cheng Ze was sitting opposite Sofia and Ji An and was next to her, so she had another idea in her head, "Cheng Ze can you move next to Sofia. You should sit next to her. It looks better like that. Don't you think so Gu Feng?" she looked at her husband asking to back her up and agreed with her.

He looked at her wondering what it's all about, "Yeah sure. Go move next to Sofia."

Sitting next to little Sofia makes him feel better anyway and he truly likes it. He can feed her too if she wanted to. So he stood up and moved to sit next to Sofia.

"Oh wow! You look like a little family of three. Hold on, don't move! Let me get my phone." She took her phone and snap a photo of the three. Looking at the photo, she adored it "Oh, just look at that! You really look like a real family. I'm going to get this enlarged and put it in a big frame."

"...." Ji An can't believe what her mother is doing at that moment, 'What's wrong with her?'

"..." Cheng Ze can't say a word with her stepmother's behaviour. She never acted like that before, though he liked it, he glanced at Ji An and he can see she was a little flushed probably due to embarrassment.

Even Gu Feng was speechless. 'Is she really rooting for these two? What made him fancy my son for her beloved daughter.'

"Let's eat! Continue eating! I'm just happy, ignore me." She smiled at little Sofia.

Ji An felt awkward while Sofia and Cheng Ze enjoyed it so much. Sitting between her mummy and daddy while eating, it made her so happy. She ate a lot too because Cheng Ze fed her. Ji An told him not to do that because she will get used to it and if he leaves, Sofia might hold on to him. She doesn't want Sofia to get close to anyone, especially to Cheng Ze. Sofia is already fond of him calling him daddy. She doesn't want Sofia to get disappointed once Cheng Ze get married and leave.

After dinner, they sat in the living room for a little rest and to talk about random things. Gu Feng and Madam Gu left to went to their room. Ji An and Sofia was about to leave when Cheng Ze spoke, "Ji An, can I take Sofia for a day out on Saturday?" His voice was gentle and soft.

"I would love to go with daddy for a day out! Can I go, mummy, please...? She pleaded as she held her hands. Looking all excited and happy with her eyes gleaming in joy.

Ji An stood up, "Sofia can you go to your room first. Uncle Cheng Ze and I will talk about it first okay?" She kissed her daughter on her forehead and said her good night.
