Love Will Lead You Back

Ji An quickly got ready but she still looked tired even after having a good shower. Cheng Ze prepared Sofia and got her ready so Ji An will not have to deal with her.

When all of them were downstairs and ready to go, Sofia asked him cheerfully wearing a big smile on her face, "Daddy, where are we going?"

Cheng Ze looked at his daughter and knelt down, "We are going to see a botanical garden. You will like it." He said in full of enthusiasm as he pretended to fix her dress.

"But daddy, I want to go to the zoo today." She said in a disappointed voice and her face turned sour while she pouted her lips.

He looked at her in disbelief, 'Crap! I thought she will go wherever I go. I didn't think of this!' "Okay... How about, we go to the place I want to go first and then we go to the zoo after? Hmm?" He tried to pacifier his daughter so his plans won't get spoiled, she must agree with him.

"Cheng Ze, why do we have to go to the botanical garden? We can just go to the zoo or a park nearby, right?" Ji An suggested and looked at the two.

"No! No! I mean, that place is special, I mean, I want to take you there before, but you left so I couldn't. Anyway, let's just go, okay?" He cannot let them ruin his plans for today. Besides, it is for both of them, well, for the three of them, for their future.

Ji An and Sofia looked at each other and shrugged their shoulders. Sofia asked her to lower her face so she can whisper something to her ear, "Daddy is acting weird."

Ji An nodded and whispered back, "Should we just go along with him and find out what he is up to?"

Sofia nodded in her reply. The mother and daughter held hands and declared that they are now ready to go with him.

Of course, Cheng Ze saw the whispering thing that happened between Sofia and JI An, 'Did they found out my plan? Am I busted?' But he didn't say anything and he leads the way to the car. Ji An places Sofia in her child seat and buckled her up with the seatbelt. She then sat next to Cheng Ze in front.

They had a quiet journey as Ji An immediately fell asleep not long after she sat in her seat. She was really feeling tired. Sofia was just watching on her iPad quietly. It was quite a drive from their house to the botanical garden.

After an hour of driving, they have arrived. He wakes Ji An up gently, "Baby we're here." He touched her face gently and turned to Sofia, "Sweetheart, are you ready?" He asked excitedly, "Because I am!" He continued.

Sofia just looked at him not knowing what to say to him. 

"Why are you getting all excited just by going to a botanical garden? Do you like plants and flowers so much?" Ji An interrupted him as she awoke from her slumber.

"I do actually!" He replied with a bright smile on his face.

"Daddy are you not feeling well? We can go to the hospital instead." Sofia looked worried about her dad, he was really strange today.

Ji An got out of the car and released Sofia from her seatbelt, "Let's go! I'm sure daddy is fine. Maybe, being close to nature is what we need sometimes." She smiled at Sofia though her eyes still showed tiredness.

Sofia held her hand tightly and Cheng Ze snapped a photo from behind. The mother and daughter were holding each other's hands while he was behind the pair. He caught up fast after snapping the photo.

They walked together while enjoying the view. A lot of people were there too as it was Saturday. But Li Wei has secured their spot long before the came. He laid out the picnic mat in front of the lake. It was a sloping grass with a perfect ambience for his proposal. The wine and light snack were laid out as well.

Sofia noticed the spot as it was really eye-catching, "Look, mummy! Someone is having a picnic over there!" Sofia pointed at the spot but no one was there.

"That looks cosy! We should have brought some mat Cheng Ze." She then looked at him, "We could have enjoyed a little picnic. Nice spot too!" She added.

Cheng Ze lifted Sofia up in his left arm and he held Ji An's hand on his right hand. He pulled her towards the spot, "There! We can have a picnic here!" He exclaimed and put Sofia down.

"Cheng Ze, what are you doing? We cannot just take other peoples spot!" Ji An's face looks angry, she didn't like that at all and that is not like Cheng Ze anyway.

Sofia sat down and started to eat some fruits, she drank some juice too while her parents talked.

"Your daughter seems to enjoy it. Just look at her! Are we starving her at home?" He teased her to take Ji An's mind off of it.

"Do you think we have time to talk about that right now? Take her back to the car!" She really looked angry after he said those and was about to walk out.

Cheng Ze grabbed her wrist to stop her from walking out and he swiftly moved his hands to give her a back hug, "This is for us! I prepared this for you! Can we just enjoy it? Please?" He said softly. "Don't get mad, you will look ugly." He teased her one more time to lighten up the mood and make her stay.

Ji An calmed down after she heard Cheng Ze's words. She then turned around to face him, "Are you sure?" Her eyes were telling him that she was touched by all these, but of course, that is if it's really meant for her.
