Loving With My Mind

Chapter 32 - Let Them Know

The three of them had lunch in the most awkward way.

Han Yixin had participated in several cooking and baking competitions, but she was never this nervous to present her work.

The older lady gave off a pressuring presence, even more so than her in-laws. In fact, her in-laws tried their best to be warm towards her. This lady looked as if she was criticizing her from head-to-toe.

Han Yixin gulped as she watched the old lady swallow.

"So, Auntie Jing...how was it?" Zhao Mingzhe dared to ask what his wife was afraid to utter.

Auntie Jing had a subtle smile. "It is an honor to enjoy Young Madam's cooking. This humble servant strongly believes that these are world class."

"Oh..." Han Yixin was shocked but relieved. "Why, thank you...such kind words, Auntie Jing."

Zhao Mingzhe felt relieved to see a smile from his wife. Then he looked at the older lady sternly. "Auntie Jing, it's time you tell us why you were sent here. Please do away with your previous alibi."

Auntie Jing met his eyes. "Young Master, it is true that I was sent here by the Madam to help out...but aside from that...she wanted to know if the both of you are living together just fine. She knew you spent time together abroad. You know her...she would be itching for details. However, since you won't call or visit her, she had to send me to get some news. Of course, her pride prevents her from prying on personally."

Han Yixin felt guilty. She had been less close with her parents since high school so she was not used to inform them of her travels. She wanted to be independent...to be free.

However, it is different now. Her mother-in-law does not deserve such treatment.

She looked at her husband in disbelief. 'This man...he is their son but he never bothered to call home? No wonder her in-laws would send someone to check on them. This should not be the case.'

Auntie Jing, seeing both of them remaining quiet, talked again, "I believe the both of you are fine living with each other. Don't worry. As you wish to be alone, I will only come three times in a week."

"Uh, Auntie Jing..." Han Yixin felt guiltier.

"Young Madam, please don't worry about me. After cleaning around, I will be going back to the Zhao estate. I will leave my things in the first floor room. I will come back to clean again the day after tomorrow."

"Thank you...Auntie Jing." Zhao Mingzhe interrupted however his wife would like to reply to what the older woman had said.

The older lady then took the plates as they had finished their meals and began cleaning around the kitchen as promised.

Han Yixin went into the kitchen as well, ready to help.

Before she even touched a plate, the older lady spoke again.

"Young Madam, please don't make me feel bad. I ate such good cooking. How can I make the chef clean after me?"

"But..."

"I believe Young Master would like to have a word with you."

"Oh..." she nodded her head in agreement. "Then thank you, Auntie Jing." she bowed before leaving the kitchen.

Seeing that no one was in the living room, Han Yixin assumed that her husband had gone to their room, and so she headed upstairs.

She indeed found him in the bedroom, reading some papers on the bed.

"Zhao Mingzhe..." she called out softly.

"Oh!" He looked up at her quickly, then swiftly arranged his doc.u.ments, placing them in a drawer.

Then he tapped the vacant area of the bed beside where he was sitting. "Come."

Han Yixin complied, sitting beside, but not too near him.

"Are you alright?" he asked.

"Ah Zhe...I think...we should visit your parents. They're worrying too much. We should let them know that..."

Her next word was replaced by a shriek.

He just pounced on her and she landed on the soft bed. "That we're doing this..." He c.a.r.e.s.sed her t.h.i.g.h and his fingers crawled up higher.

She suppressed another shriek as she felt the tickle. "Zhao Mingzhe! Auntie Jing is just downstairs!"

"So?"

"At least let her leave first before..."

He shut her up with his kiss.

When his hands roamed all over her, Han Yixin sat up abruptly.

"Zhao Mingzhe!" she glared at him.

He chuckled and gave her a peck on the lips. "You're cute." he remarked, with a wide grin on his face.

"Cute my foot!"

He laughed. "Guess I need to give Auntie Jing a sense of urgency, so she would hurry up and finish her work.

Zhao Mingzhe got up from the bed and walked towards the door.

"No, wait!" Han Yixin hurried to chase after him. "Don't..."

Her efforts were in vain as he continued to descend the stairs while she tripped and fell on the carpet, still inside the room.

Zhao Mingzhe found Auntie Jing in the living room. It seemed that she was done cleaning the kitchen.

"Auntie Jing..." he called out.

The older lady stopped her work and bowed at him. "Young Master. What can I do for you?"

"You may leave now. Please tell my mother not to worry as my wife and I are in good terms. We would like to figure out our relationship on our own. I request to allow us to, with no interference."

Auntie Jing smiled subtly. "I understand, Young Master. Rest assured that your message will reach the Madam."

He nodded. "Please also inform her to await our visit one of these days."

The older woman's face lit up. It has been long since the Young Master went for a visit to the Zhao estate. "I...I will tell her."

"Thank you, Auntie Jing. I will call the guard to call for a cab."

"Thank you, Young Master. Sorry for the trouble."

Zhao Mingzhe picked up the landline and called the guard house.

Auntie Jing placed back her cleaning materials in the storage room and arranged her handbag.

A cab beeped after several minutes.

"I'll be going now, Young Master."

"Hmmn. Take care." Zhao Mingzhe sent her off from the front door.

After going back inside the house, he looked up to the second floor, then he dashed towards the staircase with a smile on his face.
